The highlight for the past week was clearly the two brand new global products being unveiled in India by international carmakers. Renault Triber and Kia Seltos broke cover ahead of their official launch, meanwhile, Mahindra and Isuzu also had launches last week. Let us have a detailed roundup of news in the week gone by.
The much-talked-about sub-four-metre seven-seater vehicle, the Renault Triber has been globally unveiled in India. The Triber is a ‘super spacious’ and ‘ultra-modular’ multi-purpose vehicle based on a modified CMF-A platform.
The Kia Seltos had its global premiere in India ahead of its official launch for the domestic market in August. It’s a new compact SUV from the South Korean automaker that will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Renault Duster.
The 2019 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross was launched in India at a price of Rs 15.51 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Available in two trims – Standard and High-Grade (Z), the updated model gets a fresh face with 20 new features. The new V-Cross now gets two new colour options - sapphire blue and silky pearl white as well.
The last batch of 700 units of the 4x4 Mahindra Thar will be sold in a feature loaded avatar as the Thar 700. Launched in the country at a price of Rs 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), it is available in a new aquamarine colour and the existing Napoli black.
Maruti Suzuki is developing an entry-level compact crossover. It will be based on the Future-S Concept from 2018 Auto Expo. Now, according to a new patent filing, we know that the production-spec Future-S Concept could be christened Maruti Suzuki S-Presso.
We exclusively spotted the upcoming Kodiaq facelift for the first time. The SUV will get cosmetic changes akin to the Superb facelift but most importantly, there will be new powertrain which is under test. The hybrid from the Superb facelift is also in works for the Kodiaq.
After the Seltos, Kia Motors may be developing a compact MPV to rival against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Mahindra Marazzo. Expect it to be priced in the bracket of Rs 8-13 lakhs (ex-showroom).
