Maruti Fronx

Positives:

• The Maruti Fronx has a well-designed cabin with leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering, premium-feeling upholstery, steering mounted controls, and dual-tone interiors.

• It also features, an eight-way seat adjustment including height (for the driver seat), cruise control, paddle-shifters, push-button start, keyless entry, and hill hold assist to ease the driving experience.

• It features a decent 360-degree camera system with guide lines to help with driver awareness.

• The nine-inch Arkamys SmartPlay Pro+ HD infotainment system gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The presence of wireless charger, 40+ connected car features, and heads up display (HUD) with turn-by-turn navigation make it decently techy. 

• For the passengers, the rear seats feel spacious and airy despite the dual-tone interiors with good under-thigh support. 

• The rear AC vents and fast-charging USB, and the overall sound system with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters enhance the experience.

Negatives:

• The lack of shoulder room sticks out when three passengers are seated in the rear seats.
• As Maruti Fronx is positioned as a crossover or compact SUV (as Maruti calls it), its cabin height should have been more than the Baleno’s (for extra headroom).

Positives:

• The Maruti Suzuki Fronx gets six airbags (two front, two side and two curtain), Electronic Stability Control (ESP) with hill-hold assist and rollover mitigation, ABS, and traction control.

• In addition, it gets a 360-degree camera, reverse parking sensors and rear defogger for improved positional awareness for the driver. 

• For further driver and passenger protection, it gets ISOFIX points for child safety and 3-point (Emergency Locking Retractor) ELR seat belts that allow easy retractability in normal conditions along with locking during emergencies. 

Negatives:

• The Maruti Fronx is yet to be tested by the Global or Bharat NCAP authorities for crash safety ratings. The Maruti Baleno (which the Fronx is based on) did get 4 star Bharat NCAP ratings. 
• Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) functionality could’ve added a major upgrade to its safety and driving assistance feature list.

Positives:

• The Maruti Fronx has sharp aerodynamic design, bold front and rear fascia, and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels to enhance its visual appeal.

• While based on the Baleno, the higher suspension setup and larger tyre profile gives it a more commanding stance, well complemented by its muscular design elements. 

• The LED headlights, LED DRLs, and fully-connected LED taillights give it a sleek and modern look. 

• On the inside, the Fronx gets a plush dual-tone upholstery, flat-bottom steering wheel, 9-inch HD infotainment system, and dual-tone dashboard with metal accents.

• While the overall layout and seat upholstery is similar to the Baleno, the cabin’s design itself is refreshing when compared to other Maruti hatchbacks and feels more upmarket.

• It comes in a total of ten different colour options including three in dual tone. Namely: NEXA Blue (Celestial), Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, Bluish Black, Earthen Brown with Bluish Black Roof, Splendid Silver with Bluish Back Roof and Opulent Red + Black. 

Negatives:

• The basic design, texture and colours are comparable with similarly priced Maruti cars, a bit more uniqueness would be welcome.
