The MG Hector will come with a custom operating system, which will get periodical OTA (over-the-air) updates.

Additionally, MG has also tied-up with US-based Nuance Communications to facilitate voice-based services like making a call, reading text messages and receiving real-time weather forecasts. The MG Hector will be launched in India this summer, mostly in May or June. When launched, the SUV will be available with a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre Multijet diesel motor and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol mill along with a 48V mild-hybrid system. Transmission options will include six-speed manual as well as DCT units. However, it remains to be seen whether the diesel motor will get an automatic at launch.
