    Maruti Grand Vitara Summary

    Latest Update

Maruti Suzuki has revised the prices for select models. The Grand Vitara and Swift have become dearer by up to Rs. 25,000.

    Price

Maruti Grand Vitara price ranges between Rs. 10.87 Lakh - Rs. 19.97 Lakh depending on the variant selected.

When was the Maruti Grand Vitara launched?

The BS6 2 and RDE-compliant Maruti Grand Vitara was launched on 1 April, 2023 in India.

    What variants does it get?

Maruti Suzuki offers its Grand Vitara SUV in six variants. They are called Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha, and Alpha+.

What features are available in the Maruti Grand Vitara?

The highlight of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara's exterior design is certainly how the headlamps, grille, and DRLs collectively make its nose look spectacular. Other highlights include the 16-inch dual-tone alloys, contrast-coloured skid plates, wraparound LED taillights, cladding, and the spoiler. It is available in nine colour shades, some offering a black roof option.

Inside the cabin, the Grand Vitara features a scenic panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, heads-up display, ventilated front seats, paddle shifters, and Suzuki Connect telematics. There's a barrage of safety features, too, such as six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, hill hold assist, and hill descent control — to name a few.

What are the engine, performance, and specifications of the Maruti Grand Vitara?

This Maruti SUV gets two BS6 2 and RDE-compliant petrol powertrain options. The 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine (mild-hybrid) produces 102bhp and 137Nm and comes with either a five-speed manual gearbox (AWD system is only offered with manual gearbox) or a six-speed torque converter auto transmission. The other option is a strong-hybrid system that uses a 1.5-litre petrol motor with an output of 91bhp and 122Nm and electric motors to collectively make a total of 114bhp. This drivetrain uses an e-CVT gearbox.

Is the Maruti Grand Vitara a safe car?

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has not been tested by the NCAP yet.

What are the rivals to the Maruti Grand Vitara?

The Grand Vitara locks horns with cars such as the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Harrier, and the Volkswagen Taigun.

Last updated on 14 September, 2023.

How is the Maruti Grand Vitara car?

    • Pros

      • Cushy ride quality owing to the bump absorption qualities.
      • Incorporates a modern design, and has a strong road presence.
      • The overall refined motor simply has no vibrations under 4,000rpm.
      • Practical and roomy, easy to ingress and good overall outward visibility.
      • Broad dealer/service/spares network. Marutis command a good resale value.
    • Cons

      • The finish in some places is not up to the mark.
      • Lacks midrange punch especially when fully loaded.
      • Seating three occupants at the rear can be restrictive.

    Maruti Grand Vitara 2024 Verdict

The new Grand Vitara is a far more desirable car than any other premium offering from Maruti that has come before it.

    Maruti Grand Vitara Car Review

The CNG variant joins the extensive Grand Vitara range which includes petrol, mild-hybrid, strong hybrid and all-wheel drive versions.

    What is it?

In what can only be described as a bold move, Maruti Suzuki has added CNG power to its most expensive offering yet, the Grand Vitara. This is yet another major step in Maruti’s journey to offer alternative fuel sources in its line-up, one that is quite daring because CNG, as we all know, is a fuel that was once looked upon as the choice of only those who are budget conscious. Now, it has made its way into the Nexa range of cars, indicating where Maruti is headed for the near future. Not too long ago, Maruti introduced CNG variants of the Baleno and the XL6 from the Nexa range and now the brand has launched the Grand Vitara CNG. The CNG variant joins the extensive Grand Vitara range which includes petrol, mild-hybrid, strong hybrid and all-wheel drive versions.

How is it on the inside?

    Instrument Cluster

The CNG variants of the Grand Vitara are similar to the corresponding petrol/mild hybrid variants, meaning the look and feel of the cabin is unchanged. The only couple of visible changes come in the form of the CNG mode indicator on the instrument cluster and the fuel change over button that sits below the climate control panel.  Inside, the design and quality are leaps and bounds beyond what we have seen from Maruti Suzuki models of the past. The cabin is a contemporary environment to be in, with a big free-standing media screen dominating the look and good quality plastics for the most part.

    Open Boot/Trunk

The doors open wide on the Grand Vitara, and because it sits pretty high off the ground, getting into the front or rear accommodation is easy. And when you get in, it’s an adequately comfortable space for four full-size adults.

    What’s on the feature list?

    Center Console/Centre Console Storage

The Grand Vitara CNG can be had in either Delta or Zeta variant. So these are the middle two variants which get plenty of new age features. For instance, the more expensive Zeta variant gets automatic LED headlights, rear wiper, auto folding wing mirrors, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get as many as six airbags besides ABS and ESP. Unfortunately, Maruti doesn’t offer CNG power in the top-of-the-line Alpha variant which gets a panoramic sunroof, dual tone exterior colors, leather steering wheel and 360-degree view camera system.

    What’s under the hood?

    Engine Shot

Powering the Grand Vitara CNG is a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 103bhp and 136Nm of torque. Now these figures are rated for the petrol mode and once you switch over to CNG, you have 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque at your disposal. A five-speed manual is the sole gearbox option on offer and there is no torque converter automatic or all-wheel drive configuration for the CNG variants. Naturally, the Grand Vitara CNG will be a lot more affordable to run than any other variant with Maruti claiming a mileage of 26.6km per kg.

What about its pricing and its rivals?

    Left Rear Three Quarter

The Grand Vitara CNG is available in two variants, namely Delta and Zeta. The entry level Delta is priced at Rs 12.85 lakh whereas the Zeta which gets a lot of the modern features, comes in at Rs 14.84 lakh. Now Maruti has already bid goodbye to diesel power and is currently working on the EV space. In the meantime, the brand is bullish on upholding CNG power, as is evident with the number of CNG models it has launched in the last two years. There are more cost-effective and emit less than equivalent petrol-powered models. Eventually, with diesels on their way out, petrol-CNG, hybrids, and BEVs will be the one in demand and Maruti would be looking to be at the forefront for alternative power sources.

    • I am bad bad but….
At nexa it was very premium experience, even better than many premium competitors. Greet was excellent. Driving experience at first was excellent as i felt its new car, but with time I could get some or other noise from car. 1st I got sound of plastics from gear box, was quickly resolved but it again started coming. Drive in EV mode is silent but as it switches to petrol yes there is a lag. Owning XL6 previously I couldn’t find difference in power in normal or petrol mode. Our 1st and foremost priority was mileage, and yes we are satisfied. At least its better than owning an EV. Paying 23L on road we have some expectations, most of the same value cars give more features and interiors. The alloys are average, looks can say are more than average but again missing fog lamps. Cornering lights on empty streets without streetlights are a real concern. Could have given a bigger headlight assembly for cornering light. Again it could be problem in many other cars but we are talking in a mid premium car. A 5 seater premium car or can say premium priced car. Again maintaining a Maruti is like growing up a matured kid. Easy easy and easy. They deliver the car on the same day also we can walk in without appointment, most of the other brand dealers have at least 2 weeks to 4 weeks of waiting. They charge penny and don't want you to get into extras as suggested by other brand dealers. Pros: For sure economy Spacious interiors Tyre size Cons: Plastic noise in cabin Due to battery less space for luggage Poor headlamp

    • Great
Everything was great.. except the pickup as the engine was not so powerful and because of that the car felt underpowered and Maruti should offer a better engine option with this car.
