Hyundai Tucson specs and features revealed through brochure

Hyundai is all set to launch the new Tucson for the Indian market on November 14. Just ahead of its launch, all the details of the vehicle have been revealed through these images of the brochure.

Hyundai will offer the 2016 Tucson in petrol as well as diesel engine options, all paired to a 2WD system. The petrol is a 2.0-litre VTVT engine that churns out 153bhp at 6,200rpm and a torque of 192Nm at 4,000rpm. The diesel, on the other hand, will employ a 2.0-litre CRDi mill rated at 182bhp at 4,000 rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,750-2,750 rpm. These engines come mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol Tucson’s fuel economy is rated at 13.03kmpl for the manual and 12.95kmpl for the automatic. The manual diesel is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 18.42kmpl, whereas the automatic - 16.38kmpl.

This is the third-gen Tucson that looks leagues apart from its predecessor thanks to its modern looks and upmarket feel. Standard features include LED DRLs, automatic projector headlamps, with the option of dual-barrel LED lights in the top-end variant. The manual versions ride on 17-inch alloys wheels, while the automatic variants boast of 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The new Tucson measures 4,475mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,660mm in height. The latter is including the roof rails that are standard across all trims.

The Tucson SUV will be available in three variants - base MT, AT GL and AT GLS. The entry-level variant gets fabric upholstery with a dual-tone black and beige theme, while the interior of the higher variants feature leather upholstery. The eight-inch touch screen infotainment system is offered on all variants. It supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, voice recognition, Bluetooth etc. similar to the new Elantra. The AT GL and AT GLS trims also get keyless entry, rear AC vents, dual-zone climate control and a 10-way power adjustable driver seat. These variants also feature Hyundai's new Drive Mode Select, which has three modes - Normal, Eco and Sport to alter the throttle response and steering characteristics of the SUV. The top-of-the-line GLS, in addition, features an electric parking brake and a powered tailgate with height adjustment.

The Tucson is also loaded with a host of standard safety features including dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera with dynamic guidelines and rear parking sensors. The AT GL and AT GLS versions come equipped with front parking sensors and side and curtain airbags as well. The GLS in addition, benefits from electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), hill-start assist control (HAC), downhill brake control (DBC) and brake assist as well.

Now, all that remains to be unearthed is the variant-wise pricing. This will be announced at the Tucson's launch on November 14. Stay tuned.
