India-made Datsun Redigo to be launched in Sri Lanka next month

Datsun will launch the Redigo in Sri Lanka in September. The hatchback will be produced in India and exported to the former country.

Datsun will offer the Redigo through Associated Motorways (Private) Ltd. (AMW) in Sri Lanka. This dealer network is Nissan's long-time partner in the country and will now take care of the sales of the new hatchback. The Redigo sales will begin next month and variant-wise pricing will be revealed close to the launch.

AMW will set up five sales and service outlets each in the country over the next one year. While the Redigo is priced at Rs 2.38 lakh in India, the Sri Lankan price should go up by 2.5 times since the car will be introduced as a CBU unit.

The launch of the Datsun Redigo will mark the carmaker's re-entry into the Sri Lankan market. The brand was first introduced to the island nation in 1957. The hatchback made its debut in the Indian market in June 2016 and will be introduced to more markets soon. This is a part of their plan to expand globally.
