The whole week has passed in a blur. In that blur the facelifted Ford Figo, 2019 Maserati Quattroporte and Mercedes-Benz C43AMG have been launched, the Honda Civic diesel has been driven and we have compared the top touchscreen infotainment systems under 16 lakhs have been compared.
Ford has launched the Figo facelift in India for the price of Rs 5.15 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the mid-life update for the B-segment hatchback after being on sale for almost four years. The Figo facelift gets subtle cosmetic changes along with rejigged trim levels, added features and new petrol engine options from the Dragon family.
The new Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe, which was globally introduced in 2018, has finally arrived in India for a price of Rs 75 lakhs (ex-showroom, all-India). Based on the C-Class, the newly launched AMG C43 is more performance-driven and is offered with sporty aesthetics. Interestingly, this is the first time that the AMG C43 has arrived in India in a two-door Coupe body style.
Maserati has launched the MY2019 Quattroporte in India for a price of Rs 1.74 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) for the GranLusso and Rs 1.79 crore for the GranSport. The model year update for the four-door Italian sedan comes with new exterior colours, wheel designs and a redesigned gearshift lever apart from Pieno Fiore leather upholstery.
We have picked eight cars (and therefore eight touchscreen systems), run them through a NEW 400 point scoring system and the story in the link is the result of our frankly, massive endeavour. In separate stories we have looked at the cars that came in 5th to 8th place as well as the cars that came in from 4th to 1st place.
The review team has been busy with sedans this week and there are two big ones on offer. One is the Honda Civic in diesel manual guise while the other is the BMW M5 which is the German byword for 'go really fast in super comfort'.
