Nissan India inaugurates sales, marketing headquarters In Mumbai

Nissan has opened its sales and marketing headquarters in Mumbai. The new office was inaugurated by Takashi Hata, senior vice president, Nissan Motor company.

The new facility is located in the Equinox Business Park, Kurla (west) and is spread across 17,000 sq ft  and is Nissan’s second largest office in the country behind the main corporate headquarters in Chennai. Out of the current 200-strong Nissan Motor India Private Ltd. workforce, initially 50 staff will be based in Mumbai creating a hub for all sales, marketing and dealer management activities. The Mumbai workforce is expected to rise to around 150 employees by the end of the year. The facility currently houses sales, marketing, communications and dealer management teams for both Nissan and Datsun brands, among other key functions.

Nissan has also established a regional office in Delhi as part of a wider strategy to expand its local presence and reach in India. Additional regional bases will be established in other major cities in the near future.

"We have implemented significant improvements to our business structure in India. As a result, Nissan Motor India Private Ltd has assumed full responsibility for the sales, marketing and distribution of all Nissan and Datsun-branded vehicles and parts in India. The inauguration of our sales & marketing headquarters in Mumbai is a key step to help expand our reach and visibility to our customers in this very important growth market,” said Kenichiro Yomura, president, Nissan India operations.

This is the first major development from Nissan after it terminated contract with the Hover Automotive which was responsible for its sales and marketing functions in India.
