The Mahindra Scorpio has registered a sales milestone of four lakh units over the course of 11 years in India. The news follows recent sales figures which indicated that the Scorpio sold more units than the Renault Duster over the month of August.
Over the last two years the Scorpio has recorded sales of over 50,000 units per year while also crossing two million fans on Facebook. The increasing popularity of the vehicle on social media had earlier initiated Mahindra to unveil a special edition for the Scorpio online.
Speaking on the milestone, Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “This is a very proud moment for us, as the iconic and trend-setting Scorpio has achieved yet another milestone. This achievement reaffirms the Scorpio’s immense popularity and the confidence that consumers have reposed in it over the years.
