Toyota was caught testing its new Auris in the cold weather conditions of Northern Sweden. In a nutshell, the 2018 Auris will use an all-new platform (TNGA platform), restyled exteriors and a revised cabin.
Not only was our spy photographer able to shoot the exteriors, he was also able to click the interiors. Although masked by black fabric, the picture reveals a wireless charging dock, new climate controls, a revised gear lever and new buttons for the various functions to the car. However, despite the infotainment screen being hidden behind the fabric, we can expect the same set-up from the C-HR crossover to find its way into the new Auris.
On the exterior front, one can easily spot the windscreen that has been raked even further, a lowered roofline and a widened track for a sportier stance. Some unique traits will be borrowed from the C-HR crossover too. Powering this hatch at launch will be a hybrid drivetrain which uses a 1.8-litre petrol motor that’s coupled to an electric motor, and a turbo petrol engine option. The new Toyota Auris family hatch is expected to debut in the international market later this year.
