It’s one of the most iconic car events in the world and one so popular that manufacturers are now bringing in their latest exotic toys to display them in front of the rich and famous who will eventually buy them. Here then, are six new exciting (can also be read as you will never able to buy if you have to ask the price) cars that made their debut at the show.
Bugatti Divo
Billed as a high performance version of the world’s fastest production car, the Bugatti Divo will be limited to just 40 cars (which we suspect have already been sold). It looks even crazier than the stock Chiron and is 40kgs lighter than the former. It’s priced at Rs 40 crores and like we said earlier, it is likely to have been completely sold out before the information even went public.
Lamborghini Aventador SVJ
Lamborghini’s battle cruiser is expected to blast into the sunset very soon and this super high performance SVJ model is expected to be the swansong for this mighty V12 beast. The iconic Italian automaker is expected to retain the V12 engine in their next generation flagship car.
Ferrari Pista Spider
It’s the third model from the Pista family and this time around, it’s a convertible. The car is 91kgs heavier than the hardtop model, but still packs quite a punch thanks to the 770bhp that its 3.9-litre turbocharged engine produces. Ferrari is expected to bring the 488 Pista Spider to India and obviously in limited numbers.
Volvo Polestar 1
After touring multiple locations in Asia and Europe, the Polestar 1 has finally made its North American debut. It’s the first new fully electric car from the Chinese-Swedish automaker and will enter production next year at parent company Geely’s factory in Chengdu, China.
BMW Z4
BMW is returning to the two-seat coupe market with the Z4. This is the production spec model and it has been developed in conjunction with Toyota who will release their car as their next generation Supra and that too only in hardtop guise. It’s expected to debut in M40i guise across Europe in late 2018.
