Skoda Superb Sportline - Top 5 things to expect

Skoda Superb, a popular name in the premium sedan segment is gearing up to introduce the Superb Sportline variant soon in the country. Although the company is yet to reveal details for the upcoming vehicle, we believe that this will be offered with a sporty body kit, while mechanically it will continue to be powered by the engine options that were offered in the Superb. Read below to know more about the top five things you can expect from the Skoda Superb Sportline –

The Superb Sportline variant misses out on the chrome elements from the standard model and instead gets a blackened bumper mounted air intake and black window surrounds. The sides will get blackened ORVMs, body cladding and is expected to be offered with larger 18-inch wheels. Internationally, the vehicle is offered with 19-inch alloy wheels and a lowered suspension system which makes it 15mm closer to the ground than the standard model.

The feature loaded version of the Superb will get quilted Alcantara leather with red accents and three-spoke steering wheel wrapped in leather. The vehicle will also be offered with aluminium pedals and have a carbon effect on the dashboard. Furthermore, it is expected to get LED ambient light as standard and is likely to get a twin-dial instrument cluster and a performance monitor.

In India, the Skoda Superb Sportline is expected to be powered by existing petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version gets a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which develops 177bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. The diesel version will get a 2.0-litre engine that generates 174bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. The India-spec model is unlikely to get the four-wheel drive system as offered in the International spec model. Internationally, the Superb Sportline is offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel in two states of tune -150bhp/340Nm and 190bhp/400Nm. A 4x4 variant is also available with the DSG box. A 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine which makes 280 BHP and 350 Nm of torque is also offered with an all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

The upcoming Skoda Superb Sportline is expected to be loaded with features like xenon headlamps, on-board Wi-Fi, climate control, rear parking sensors, climate control, satellite navigation and keyless entry. The vehicle will also get drive mode select with four settings - Normal, Sport, Eco or Individual.

Skoda Superb Sportline is likely to be priced around Rs 40 lakhs. For a similar price, one can also buy Toyota Camry, Audi A3, Audi Q3, BMW X1 and the Skoda Kodiaq. More details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come.
