India bound facelifted Nissan Micra unveiled in the UK

The facelifted Nissan Micra hatchback has been unveiled in the UK.  This is the same vehicle that made its global debut in Thailand two months ago. While retaining the same overall design, the car features many changes both inside, outside and now looks more muscular than the outgoing model. 

It gets new headlamps, a revised honeycomb front grille which now features a V-shaped trough surrounding the Nissan logo.  The bumper has also been changed and now features a new design for the fog lamps as well as the air dam. 

At the back, the Japanese automaker has redesigned the bumper as well as the tail light cluster which now features LEDs. The Micra also gets a new design for the alloy wheels.  Inside, Nissan has retained the same overall design but has fitted new panels with darker colours as well as revised the design of the central AC vents and the music system. The graphics for the information display system have also been changed. 

The UK spec Micra will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol mill that produces 76PS and 104Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. The Indian market is also expected to get a diesel variant that will be powered by a 1.5-litre dCi mill that produces 65PS and 160Nm of torque. This variant only gets the five-speed manual gearbox. 

The facelifted Micra will go on sale in the UK market in September and will be produced at the Japanese automaker’s plant in Chennai. This means that we will get the facelifted car within the next two months with the automatic gearbox as well as a low cost variant called the Nissan Micra Active.
