Bajaj Qute, the country’s first quadricycle is currently available in petrol and CNG options. During the launch of the Qute in Maharashtra, we learnt that the company will introduce an LPG variant for the newly launched quadricycle towards the end of May 2019. This will further widen options for customers outside major metropolitan cities, places where CNG fuel option is yet to be introduced. The vehicle is currently available in six states in India.
Bajaj Auto is also in talks with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) across the country to finalise the fare structure for quadricycles with commercial application. The Qute is available for personal as well as commercial use. Mechanically, the four-seat Bajaj Qute is powered by a 216cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DTSi engine that generates 13bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 18.9Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The CNG variant, on the other hand, produces 11bhp at 5,500rpm and 16.1Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The DTSi engine is mated to a dashboard-mounted five-speed sequential manual transmission that is capable of attaining a top speed of 70kmph.
The Bajaj Qute quadricycle weighs a mere 425kgs and the company claims that the vehicle returns a fuel economy figure of 35kmpl in petrol and 43 kilometres per kilogram in the CNG mode. Click here to check out the new Bajaj Qute in pictures.
