After a long wait, the Skoda Octavia RS has finally been launched in India at Rs 24.62 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The performance-focused car gets the same overall design as the standard car, but with sportier overtones. The new Octavia RS is available only in the top-spec Style-Plus variant.
Under the hood, the new Skoda Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 230bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. The powerful engine comes mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox that powers the front wheels. The Octavia RS sprints from 0-100kmph in under seven seconds and its top speed is electronically restricted to 250kmph.
On the exterior, the newly launched Octavia RS gets the quad LED headlamps and a blackened butterfly grille with the RS badge. The car gets a functional body kit which includes a tail gate spoiler, 17-inch alloys and side skirts. It also gets large twin exhausts at the rear. Inside, the Octavia RS gets an all-black theme and the Alcantra seats get unique red stitching with the RS badge. The car gets carbon finish door inserts and a flat bottom steering wheel for that sporty quotient. The dashboard flaunts a large 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The new Skoda Octavia RS is also loaded with convenience and safety features, which includes electronically adjustable seats, sunroof, rear AC vents, ABS with EBD and multiple airbags. Skoda’s latest product in India has been designed and developed purely for performance car enthusiasts in the country who would like that extra bit of performance in everyday driving.
