Mitsubishi is thinning its global lineup and concentrating on high volume budget cars. The Japanese carmaker revived its Mirage badge last year with a new efficient hatchback and this G4 concept is a preview of soon to be launched global compact sedan based on the same platform.
Mitsubishi says that the G4 has new Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body that makes it lightest in the segment. It is powered by the same three-cylinder 1.2-litre MIVEC engine from the Mirage producing 74bhp and 100Nm of torque. The blue lights and opaque blue grille indicate that the car might get a hybrid version, but these are just ornaments for now and won’t be a part of the production model.
The production version will probably be renamed before launch in Europe and Japan later this year. The car will e its way to the west of Atlantic early next year, but India debut won’t happen for a while.
