Ford Everest (Endeavour) facelift officially revealed

-    Ford Everest (Endeavour for foreign markets) was revealed in Australia.

-    After going on sale there, the Endeavour will be revealed in the ASEAN markets.

-    It gets cosmetic updates with added features and a new diesel motor.

Ford has taken the wraps off the updated Everest SUV in Australia. The Everest is called the Endeavour in India and other ASEAN markets. The SUV gets a slightly tweaked styling but the major change comes under the skin with the introduction of a new diesel motor. 

The design gets a blink-and-miss update. The imposing three-louvre grille is revised along with the front bumpers. The SUV now sits on new two-tone finished 20-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, there are soft-touch materials to make the SUV more premium. The eight-inch infotainment system gets Ford’s new SYNC3 system. Apart from that, there is the keyless entry, push-button start, reverse parking sensors and camera as standard fitment. A hands-free tailgate, park assist, autonomous braking, cruise control and lane assist are optional. 

The new 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel is a part of the new Panther engine family. The same motor does duties in the Ranger Raptor. It comes in two states of tune for the Australian market – 180hp/420Nm and 213hp/500Nm. It is mated to a Getrag 10-speed automatic transmission. Presently, this new motor will be offered in other international markets; Ford has no plans to introduce this oil burner in India. On the other hand, the Endeavour’s current powertrain line-up is due for an update shortly in keeping with the BS-VI norms. 

The American carmaker will bring the updated Endeavour to India only next year. The SUV got a variant revision recently and has started offering the sunroof on the 2.2 Titanium variant as well. When launched in India, the refreshed Endeavour will continue its fray against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, and the Skoda Kodiaq apart from Isuzu MU-X and Volkswagen Tiguan.
