The Ford Mustang was unveiled for the global markets today and is expected to herald a new era in American motoring. However, not wanting to be left behind Chevrolet has released the first teaser of its high performance Corvette Z06. This is the third vehicle in the iconic sports car’s range after the 2014 Corvette and the Corvette convertible.
The teaser does not reveal much about the car expect that it will get a significant amount of carbon fibre body parts, rear quarter vents and sports spec alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres. It is expected to have much of the standard Corvette’s design language and feature list but obviously with much sportier overtones.
The engine is expected to be powered by a naturally aspirated 7.0-litre V8 engine that will produce 600bhp and close to 1000Nm of torque. While it has always been a tradition for the Corvette to have a six-speed manual, it is likely that this car may also be offered with an automatic gearbox and flappy paddles.
