BMW unveils 7 Series 750d with new quad turbocharged six-cylinder motor

BMW has taken the wraps off the 7 Series 750d.This is the new flagship diesel model from the German automaker and comes fitted with the most powerful six-cylinder diesel engine in the world.  The car will go on sale in European markets in July of this year.

The engine is a 3.0-litre unit with four turbos and produces 394bhp and a massive 760Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and it is available only in the xDrive setup. This kind of power has given the 750d a 0-100kmph time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 250kmph.

New engine apart, the 750d gets the same feature list and design as the 740d/740Ld. This includes things like the gesture control, climate control, leather upholstery and space for four to travel in absolute luxury.  This engine also gives us a preview of what the BMW X7 diesel version will be offered with when it is launched sometime in 2018.
