We recently caught up to the 2019 Cadillac CT6 during its development testing up in the Rockies. This time around, we caught it wearing less camouflage up front exposing its Escala inspired grille.
Cadillac will give its current flagship sedan a modest update to keep the interest alive. The CT6 will be among the first Cadillacs to adopt styling cues from the 2016 Escala concept. A new grille, horizontal headlights, and new front fascia will be the most prominent changes. The CT6's rear looks to be mostly unchanged.
Other updates are expected to be light. A high-performance twin-turbo V8 is still rumored, but may not be available until next decade. A diesel could be offered by 2019 for international markets. The current 2-litre turbo, 3.6-litre V6, 3-litre twin-turbo V6 and PHEV versions should continue.
We expect Cadillac to unveil the 2019 CT6 sometime next year. It will go up against flagship luxury sedans like the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes S-Class and the Audi A8.
