i have this chevy in platinum metallic and it looks pretty stylish.I wanted a car which would look good, should have plush looking and roomy interiors,a comfortable car with a good fuel economy and i think i got the perfect car.The other cars around are not as stylish as the chevy. The honda city is way to overpriced and it is the most unpretty car.The verna is also not as stylish and comfortable and even the sx4 looks very bulky. The  fiesta is a good car but it offers you less for your money and the interiors could have been better. The aveo is immensely spacious and the boot-mind you ,you are out for a week this car has enough space for your luggage.I really loved the stereo on this car it comes from the new set of GM stereos and sounds extremely good and i don't think i could have found any other car even in the upper segmant having such a superb 6 speaker sound system. The driving position of the car is very good and the theater styled rear seats are really comfortable. You enter the car and you automatically feel cozy and comfortable. The car has some minor nagative points. The engine is a bit sluggish and noisy and the ride can be harsh at times.Otherwise the car is perfect. It has the brand image-chevrolet-the most desired car brand in the world and the car is stylish enough to make a supermodel turn green. It is slightly under-rated in the auto industry. But it is truly the car which is above the c segmant and it is unfair to compare it with the much hyped honda and the sx4.So anbody wants advice i say go there and grab the chevy -it is a great car gives you more than enough for your money. No wonder it is ranked no. 1 in the J.D Power Study because it deserves it!
      extremely stylish,cheerful interiors,very comfortable,good road presense,the brand-chevroleta bit sluggish,engine noisy

My parents bought an Aveo 1.4 LS Limited Edition in July 2007 after trying out several cars like Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta, Maruti SX4 and  Honda City ZX. Every one of those cars is  good in its own right. It would not be prudent to say that Aveo is an out-and-out winner in the class. However, if you are looking for an all-rounder with VFM (value for money), Aveo it is.

My  parents live in Kochi and I visit them 3-4 times a year. I look forward to each visit not the least for the chance to drive the Aveo. By now, I have driven it around 6 times totalling probably around 400 km of mostly city driving and one longish drive to Guruvayoor Temple, about 100km north of Kochi.

A summary of  my impression of Aveo follows:

      Observer's Impression

      • The Limited Edition 1.4 LS comes with several additional external and internal add-ons like 14" alloy wheels, fog lamps, a rear spoiler, all-round skirtings, a fin (a la BMW) towards the rear of the roof, chrome grip-type handles, leather upholstry, Keyless Entry etc. These extras completely change the look of the Aveo sedan giving it a very sleek, racy silhoutte
      • On the inside, the instrument cluster is very futuristic - there are three cylindrical chrome-tipped holes holding the speedo, tacho and other displays. The Red lights on the indicators add spunk to the cockpit-like dashboard

      Score: 4.5/5

      Driver's Impression

      • The drivers seat is a good place to be inside the Aveo. The seats are comfortable enough, the steering wheel is chunky and good to hold on to. The general ergonomics are good with all knobs and switches withing easy reach.
      • Turn on the engine and you need to look at the tacho to confirm if the engine is alive - noise levels are very low inside the cabin
      • Switch to first gear and start your drive and you realize that it is a little slow off the block
      • Try shifting to higher gears as you pick up speed and you feel the gears could be smoother and could fall into the slots in a better manner. But no major problems here, you realize this limitation while comparing it to Fiesta's and City's slick gear shifts.
      • The engine is a quiet performer rather than a racy, hot-blooded teen like in the Fiesta. But the 1.4 liter 4-pot is above average in power (94 bhp) and torque (127 Nm) and delivers reasonable mileage too (consistent 11kmpl is what I hear)
      • I did not try any acrobatics like cornering at high speeds, but the control over the car was generally good.
      • I was not very impressed with the brakes as it felt a little too soft at first, but this is something you get used to after a while and can take precautions when situations warrant sudden deceleration

      Score: 4/5

      Passenger's Impression

      • Rear seat is even more comfortable than the driver's seat in the Aveo. Leg-room and shoulder space are ample and thigh support also passes muster
      • The A/C is outstanding - even in the hot and humid climes of tropical Kerala summer, the insides of the car was kept at a consistently low temperature.
      • The ride quality is superb. Rough roads are no hassles for this car. The high ground clearance of 180mm also helps tackle crater-sized pot-holes and triangle-shaped speed governers!!

      Score: 4.5/5

      Epilogue

In the Limited Edition avatar the Aveo 1.4 looks stunning. The alloys, the spoiler, the skirts and the fin all conjure up an image of a sleek, mean machine. Alas, it does not drive as well as it looks if you have genes similar to a certain Michael Schumaker, but for the comon middle-class Indian, the Aveo makes a serious lot of sense.

      Overall Score: 4.25/5

last few months i was looking for a three box car to replace my old maruti. I travel around 2000 kms every month in city so for me car milage was a major consideration with my budget constrain 0f 6 lakhs to max of 7.

first i thought of diesel cars but have all my life driven petrol and realy don’t want to go for diesel
as you can allways convert your car from petrol to cng which will be cheaper than diesel in terms of fuel, maintanece and will only add 40 k max to your budget for the kit and your warranty also stays.

In my middle class car buget i have ford,sx4 ,aveoAnd esteem.

Ford and esteem are out going models so scraped the idea there itself.

SX4 zxi is good with all the gizmos but has a long waiting period and low on mileage .

then i got to see the aveo limited edition. and was swept from my feet.

got a good deal from shiva motors in sahibabad.

My experience with the car is as under

the movement you open the door you are spellbound.with the rich interiors.
      - Leather Seats
      - Double din MP3 cd player steals the show(realy a good one with six speakers)
      - Alloys wheels with tube less (stepney dosen’t have a alloy)
      - Keyless entry with anti theft .
      - Gear lock
      - Engine is very quite noise dose not come inside the cabin but when you press it it roars and you love every bit of it.
      - Suspention is superb.
      - Driver seat hight adjustment comes handy. body A pillers are thick and block your view in hill driveing.
      - Gear-shift has been improved a lot .(know due to my friends who owns this car gave me this feed back)
      - Boot is large,
      - Mileage - 13 - 14 kmpl in city driving conditions, with  A/C on

the only diffrence with SX4 was the abs and airbag , but u get better mileage .and no waiting period.

Have driven the car for 1700 kms and realy satisfied with the car...

      will  keep updating ....

Completed around 3500 kms and getting a constant average of 13-13.5 with 20% ac.

went to agra for a day and mileage i got was 15.7 for the entire trip .very luxury styling, good fuel economy.music system without remote

over all the aveo 1.4 is a good value for money. the notchy gears may be the cons but doesnt interfere with the smooth ride. the added ground clearance is a blessing and u feel riding tall in the car as compared to the other cars in the segment.fuel economy over all after 650 kms im getting around 12 in city cum highway. expecting a betterment after the servicestyling, leg room, interiors, best ground clearance, value for moneynotchy gears

I bouught a Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 LS Special Edition vehicle on 15 May 2008. Myself, wife and our two boys (24 and 21 years of age) set off to Mookambika temple from Trivandrum. There was enough space esp. legroom for all of us to sit comfortably throughout the journey. I drove the whole 1600 km of the trip and enjoyed it throughout. Airconditioning was superb and did not affect the momntum of the car considerably. I clocked 13 kmpl on an average. Mind you, Kerala highways are not something you can write home about. I noticed some problems while driving. One was that the dashboard was too close for comfort. To take your eyes off the road and focus on the dashboard to make any reading took around 5-10 secs. Distance between the dashboard and the front glass panel was nearly 2 ft. The horn is placed right in the middle of the steering wheel and in India survival without use of the horn is difficult. To reach the horn to honk it takes time. If a horn can be provided near to the outer periphery, it would have been superb. The best thing about Aveo was the superb interior design and comfort which made value for the money spent. Overall we enjoyed the trip throughout. Today it has gone for its first servicing.beautiful design, got 13kmpl on highways, interiors superb, dashboard looks like an aircraft cockpitseatbelt makes rattling noise esp. on bumpy roads, focusing on dashboard needs heavy eye adjustment

If you want to drive perfect car with a stylish interior, exterior and decent engine performance thats it.I will not mention the performance of car at 160 km/Hr,since i never drive the car at that speed.I found this car perform best among the class if drive below 130km/hr.Absolutely no noise from the engine, its like zero noise level. Thanks to the new E-TECH-II, DOHC [16V]engine.Even Honda city basic models use SOHC old version of engine.Suspensions are really great, especially back one, both being gas filled suspensions which give perfect comfort during rough road drive. There is no need to explain the style, design and addon, they are just fabulous. Moreover Chevy AVEO Sedan is a total make over both in engine and style which GM has launched for Indian consumers with a good pricing and value.STYLISH,SMOOTH,GOOD DOHC ENGINE WITH A REAL ZERO NOISE,GREAT INTERIOR,A FABULOUS ITALIAN EXTERIORYet to find

I have 1.4 SX model 2008., 5 doors, 100 bhp. This car is good in styling and equipment, but all others is really poor. Driving performance is bad, gearbox and steereng is hard, and fuel consumption is high. I have several problems with engine, failure lambda sond. I never buy Chevrolet in the future, except Corvette :).
Good style, value for moneypoor driving performance, hard steereng, bad gearbox, high fuel consumption

Hi.. Im owning a blazing red 1.4 aveo, bought from Deedi Motors,TVM. done 9000+ km in 3 months time, excellent car to drive in (+comfort, +equipments, +interior) and average to drive( -pickup, -gear shift). I have done 160+ km\h and still got great stability but i need to slow suddenly becoz of our road and traffic condition. As Im a spirited driver some knocks happened, i had to change the driver side rear view mirror twice (u can change just the mirror part not the full set) each cost 500 rs. Recently had an accident and need to change the condenser (15,000 rs) the total bill came to 27,0000 (thats a nightmare) including paint, dent and labour charges. Fuel economy is excellent, normally get 13 km with a/c and believe it or not, i got 18+ km on a long highway drive..looks, comfort, value for moneypickup, gear shift

I own an Aveo 1.4 LS since Dec '06. My longest journey was from Hyderabad to Vizag and back. It was a great pelasure I had. The thing which annoys me most is the reverse gear, It makes the most irritating of nocies even the clucthc is pressed to the limit. Mileage in traffic ondition with AC on is around 8.5 kmpl.

Interriois/exteriors are great, pleasure to drive, noiceless. great to own.

      Hi,

At the outset let me tell you Aveo is a fantastic value for money sedan.I had shorlisted Fiesta, SX-4 and verna. But got hooked to Aveo  because of the good looks, interiors and soundless engine.

I also liked the finishing of the car as compared to fiesta, which i found was not as classy as Aveo. The head lamps and the tail lamps are also very pretty. The blac beige interiors are also the best in the class, may be better than the Honda city and the verna.

Now lets come to the engine, the engine of Aveo is a slient performer. A dark horse i would say. In my recent trip to Wayand( I stay in Bangalore ) which is around 280 kms from Bangalore, i could see the power the engine unleashed. I tarvelled past the Vernas and the Fiestas with ease. The pick up , the road grip and over all control was almost perfect.

So, i would recommend every to buy Aveo who is looking Value For Money. And guys, it s a very underrated car, So Journos and other guys please place the car where it deserves to be , may be among the top sedans in the country within this price range

      Style,looks and mileage.Sluggish gear box.
