Following several spy pictures and speculations, Rolls-Royce recently unveiled an entirely new generation of the Phantom. Now, this uber luxurious sedan has made its showroom debut at the brand’s showroom in London.
Now in its eight generation, the Phantom is entirely new inside out and the second one to arrive since BMW took over Rolls-Royce back in 1998. In terms of design, the silhouette that defined the last Phantom for nearly 14 years has been retained to keep the legacy but with modern styling elements. Inside, Rolls-Royce says that it has added 130kgs of sound deadening material for better noise insulation.
The new Phantom is powered by a 6.75-litre twin turbo V12 that produces 530bhp and an undisclosed amount of torque which we suspect is close to a 1000Nm. All that torque is sent to the rear wheels though a ZF-sourced 8-speed gearbox.
The Phantom will set the bar for automotive opulence upon its release in 2018. We expect it to arrive here in the Indian market within the next couple of years.
