I Bought a 1.4 Zxi Duratorq (Diesel) 3 weeks back and must admit that the reviews that I saw on this web site were pretty accurate. I Get a very good mileage of 19 Kms on the High way but in the city it gives me around 12. I have already run 2000Km in it and find the car very comfortable. Very smooth engine , very powerful too. excellent pickup and very good road handling. The Interiors are well made and pretty comfortable. Ground clearance is not a problem on most speed breakers, but the odd one would hit any vehicle. So no complaints regarding that. The Gear shift is crisp and could have been a little smoother. It would have been good if the car came with alloy wheels for the price. Its been fun driving the car, and so far no regrets , I guess 3 weeks is a very short time to talk about service cost and maintainence , but then I will definately add my comments when I do feel I need to tell more.Great fuel Economy, Comfortable interiors , very good handlingCould do with ABS and Air bags for the price

this car is faboulous to drive, actually it's a drivers car.gear shifting is really very smoth .legroom, head room is good enough for car of this segmant.Boot of 430 litre is luge . driver seat adjustable is a good feature in this class.but ground clearance of  168mm is less but not bad . it is good for indian condition but more ground clearance could make it more attractive.chrone on fog lamp and in rear give it a classy look .If you dont have budget problem go for fiesta .
      good styling,luxirious interior,load of gizmos,spaciouslow ground clearance

Exterior From the looks, the car leaves a very strong statement. The front grill, headlamps and the rear, tail lamps and the lifted body leaves you mesmerized.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are good although limited but one and probably the only drawback I found was of uncomfortable seats when you look at it as a sedan.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox EXTREMELY GOOD. The power is realised in every gear-shift; the car responds so well with every press of accelerator and the power it generated over 1500 RPM takes you to a completely new world of car drive. It touches 140-150 effortlessly and the control makes you very very confident at that speed too. The Gear shift is very smooth and works effortlessly. Best part about the FORD Fiesta Diesel is its SUPERB MILEAGE....It gives and average of 17-18 kmpl in city and 21-22 kmpl on highways.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is smooth and feels like you are driving on water a speed over 70-80. Handling gives you that much needed confidence and you forget listening to music or other talks when you drive - You will be to engrossed in its driving pleasure.

Final Words No doubts - This car is true VALUE for money for the simple reason being Highly fuel efficent (doesn't put much load on your pocket), extremely high quality control on high speed and powerful engine. Also, this car gives you a feeling of that you are driving a 1800 or 1900 cc powered car. Go for it if you want to enjoy driving at high speeds with very good mileage that too with such beautiful looks. In just 3 months of its purchase, I have driven it for 8000 kms, that says it all.

Areas of improvement Just imporve the quality of seating and this car is 10/10. This is still my favorite ahead of Honda Civic or Octavia that we have at home.

Amazing Power, great styling and superb mileageslightly uncomfortable seats, less glove space

hi guys finally i sold my city and bought a fiesta(you must have read my review in city section on 31st march 2008). Believe me there is a lot of difference between the two cars. i drove my city for 1 year and in that 1 year i went 8 times to hills for work and many times on highway. everytime i was scared and felt as if a am riding a flimsy long box of tin which has comfortable sofas for people sitting behind. I was never comfortable with the city and that is why i sold it in 11 months. I took my new fiesta on the hills after 1 week of purchase and it is a much more stable car both on highways and hills. I felt a lot safer and for me that is the first priority. Last year when i bought my city i had test driven the fiesta and at that time too i had loved the car but went for city just bcoz of the resale hype. honestly speaking that was not a gr8 decision. this time also i was told that go for Sx4 It has resale, a maruti product etc etc. I tried the car found it better than city but nowhere near fiesta. Actually this year i was prepared to listen to my heart as last year i listened to my mind and wasted money and peace on a city.I think i have made a right choice this time rest time will tell. My honest suggestion to everyone is if your need is just to go around from one locality to other in a city like delhi you can go for a city otherwise plz dont go for it and become fooled like me. If you are a real honda fan shell out more money and buy a civic. In C segment according to me fiesta is best, Sx4 is next to it.

One more thing i want to point out dont compare city with fiesta diesel. Compare cars of one type of fuel. comparisons should be:

City (77 bhp) Vs Fiesta Exi 1.4(82 bhp)(5 bhp more than city exi,  gxi )best buy acc to me is fiesta 1.4. It is giving  almost same mileage as city. Running , pickup and handling is much better than city and it is a lakh cheaper. you can get accessories from outside the side beams get painted just for Rs 2000. City's 1500cc engine is of no use if it is giving only 77 bhp. 1.5 just looks good on paper otherwise it is useless.1.4 L with 82 bhp is more than sufficient for me and for most of the drivers on road. Not many are racers. Racers can go for 1.6. My friend guided me to go for 1.4 and i realised that mileage is not an issue with 1.4 petrol actually it also has a record of 22 and if it gives me  65% of the record then its fine.

If you are taking fiesta 1.6 into comparison then city vtec should be compared with it.

Honda doesnt have any competitor with fiesta diesel.

The fiesta 1.4 petrol(not diesel) has really impressed me and i hope this review helps those who get fooled by others talks as i was fooled last year.Just use yor brain and compare every feature of all the cars.

      GOOD LUCK

I am loving this car. You can just buy it for its gear box.Rear leg room slightly less than city (not much).

I have bought Ford Fiesta 1.4 SXi TDCi ABS
One word to describe this car is " SUPER "......I purchased this car recently, i liked every bit of this car especially the interiors. The exteriors were also very nice, it front looks like BMW and rear like BENZ........In this model u got everything tat you need, the side mirrors are electrically controlled, very powerful A/c,ABS,keyless entry, automatic locking system and it goes on........

Now the part i dont like, there are 3 things which i dont like about ford Fiesta,
1)The legroom is very less in the rear........
2)They should have given alloy wheels and MP3 player.......
3)They could have given internal antennae like verna.......

But this car is great, u can put ur money into it..........
It has good fuel economy and nice interiorsbut not enough space at the rear seat

When I thoght of going for used diesel mid size car I was confused, after going through all car sites and reviews and cost of maintance i dont want to buy ford cars. One of my close relative driving a Ford Figo and he told me to go for Fiesta classic test drive i was impressed with Fiesta and Recently I bought  used Ford Fiesta Classic diesel and it was done 50k, 2007 model. The performence of the vichle was amezing.

The driving comfort was excellent, and the milege was unbelivable (getting 25.5KM per litr). I took the car to my native place it was almost 600 km away from Chennai at avg speed of 110 to 140 km and was thrilled with the performence of the  vichele, not even a small viberation at top speed, the ineriors and the rear seat comfort was excelent. I think i made a right move by choosing ford fiesta.

      Good Fuel economy, ComfortNothing

      Hello All,

I have been reading reviews on the Ford Fiesta. I am no Pro-Ford and I own one.According to me the car is a thumbs up.It can give a good mileage if one knows how to drive it. Few tips here.

      1) The fuel gauge indicator-Do not be under the impression that its not working. The car calculates the last 100 km of drive. If you have driven sensibily that it can go to show you 800 km on a full tank.

      2) The car is best driven at engine rpms between 1800-2200 revs. The best economy is at this rate.

      3) the cooling is pretty fast and it shows a barely 80 rpm increase when turned on. Remember to put a heat absorbent material on your dashboard or a sun shield on your windscreen.

      4) Do not brake suddenly. Braking consumes fuel and same with overtaking SUDDENLY. Sudden acceleration are worst just like if you are walking and then asked to run all of a sudden.

      5) The car has excellent dynamics in comparison to Honda city.It can leave a Honda city way behind while turning on bends and curves. Do not do abrupt turns as they show in the ads.Thats only good for ads but if u r looking to save fuel then avoid it.

      6) Check your tyre pressures periodically w.r.t the passengers on board.A good idea to have a inflator with a gauge in your trunk.

      7) Take that foot off that clutch pedal.

      8) Once the car has attained the required speed keep that right foot off the accelerator pedal.Albeit keep it light without having pressed it. You can see this from your RPM indicator.

      9) Change gears smoothly. Do not be in a haste. You will only end up screwing yourself.

      10) Use the 10-1,20-2,30-3,40-4 and 65-5 technique for gears. I bet you will find a marked difference.

      11) Priodically conduct all mechanical and electrical checks yourself. Rats mice can play havoc.. My personal experience-a rat chewed off the wires to my Auto shut off of the Fuel tank.

      12) Fuel tank- Remember that when you are filling up fuel- Fill during late at night or early morning, see that the hand nozzle is set at LOW this will help you get more fuel for the same money.A high setting can cause Vapours inside the tank which gas/bubble up.

Lastly do not think of any car as a public transport. Drive it for pleasure. If you are looking too much at economy, then there is no point wasting 7-8 lacs on buying a car. You might be well off with the thook-thook or the state buses...Cheers!!!

Happy Driving.Be safe!! Take care of yourself and others.

      Thanks & Regards,

      Eisen Picardo

Exterior: There are a few changes in the looks of 2009 fiesta; more curves which makes it look elegant. The front grill makes it look sporty. the back is just ok, I added spoiler at the back to improve the looks. The radio antenna is placed at the front side as compared to backside in most other cars. The wheel is bit smaller in diameter in this version as compared to the higher end models and there are no alloy wheels available for this model.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): I opted for leather interiors and it definately looks better than the normal ones present in ZXi. The interiors are two tone. ZXi comes with all electronic gadgets including electronic ORVM and a cd player although the ZXi leather's cd player lacks a line in which is quite useful to plug in ipods and other mp3 devices. Besides this flaw, I think the cd player sounds exceptionally well and has facilities for mp3 cds and 6 preset FM stations. As the cd player is pre fitted by Ford, it blends in with the interior design giving a more elegant feel inside. Other useful features include central power windows, tilt steering and distance to empty indicator which basically gives the approx amount of distance you can go without a fuel refill.

Space is a bit of concern in this car and if that is your number one criteria for selection, then steer clear of this car!! The length and width of this car is smaller than most other cars in this segment as a result the space for passengers at the back is less, but hey, if you are going to purchase a fiesta, you will be spending more time in drivers seat than be driven; trust me on this :)

Another problem area that I found out was that of suspension; it is too rigid and you can feel every bump on the road.. not sure if it is only in the car is new though. Also no airbags are present in ZXi.

Other features include fog lamps, ABS, rear window defogger.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: What can I say about Fiesta's performance? In one word, it is mindblowing. At 1.6 liters it churns out about 100 horses of power resulting in a rocket acceleration as you leave everyone else eating your dust! Also at 6.8lacs on road, it is the most powerful car in the price bracket. If power is what you are after then, my friend, you have found your machine.

The gearbox is notchy and it is a real pleasure to shift gears. I am currently getting a fuel economy of 11, but that may be on the account of my driving habits and this being a new car. The fuel economy promised by my dealer after first service is 13.

Ride Quality & Handling: Fiesta has the least turning radius in its segment which leads to exceptional maneuverability on city roads. Also the tall design gives it a better ground clearance and you dont need to worry about hitting tall speed breakers. The ride quality can be improved by providing better suspensions, but I would say it is not bad either. Exceptional handling and good ride quality.

Final Words Before purchasing, I was thinking of getting of a high end hatchback like i20 but after test driving i20, I thought it was not a value for money. at 6.4 lacs on road. So I started looking at entry level sedans. I test drove aveo, linea, city and fiesta. rejected aveo and linea because of power concerns; although the looks of linea were very impressive and interiors/space of aveo are better than fiesta. fell in love with honda city but at 9.something on road, it was way out of my price budget. But once I drove fiesta, I stopped searching and realized this is the car I want. So fiesta turned out to be the best choice for me. It is truly a drivers car!

Areas of improvement More interior space and better suspensions.

Power, style, handlingSuspension, back seat leg room.

Fiesta Zxi 1.6 Petrol is an excellent car, which comes with March Masti package from Ford.
Now we can get fog lamps, spoiler, mp3 player and matts etc at free of cost if you buy car in March 2008. I like the ’Kilometers to go’  feature in this car. It is giving 11.5 to 12 km with AC in city drive. Dealer informed that after 1st service the mileage will increase further. Petrol engine is NO NOISE. Dead silence engine. At arond 1200 rpm car will be going at 70 km speed, and you never know until you see the speedometer. Very smooth driving, swing like a boat in crowd. suspensers are very good. It will suppress midium level road bumps and we never feel that driving on bumps.

In car AC is excellent, we may not be able to run on 2 setting for long time, as it makes very cool inside the car. Cooling is very effective. Within 3 - 5 minutes you feel the whole car is cool inside when you switch on AC. Speed pickup is great and breaks are very good. Easy to control the speed when needed.

Streeing control too make you confortable while driving. we can drive this car exactly how we want to drive. 100% precision driving occuracy is possible with this car. Very good visibility of front and makes confort while driving in city crowd. I have opted for back parking sensors, which make more more confort while parking at city malls at cellar parking. it will show exactly howmuch distance you have behind car in meters.

The only thing we miss in this model is airbag. It would have been great if Ford add that too.
Cost is little bit high compare to other cars of similar type.

If you are thinking to buy Ford fiesta, this is the month which brings more value for your money.

Enjoy the driving of Ford Fiesta - its drivers car..

      Thank you

Exterior Looks sexy.. no other words.. only car which looks good from all angles. I liked the front lights more than Skoda Rapid.. Rear is almost same like Rapid. However this is my personal opinion.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good Music system, no extra fitments required. Space is a problem for rear passengers. But its not that bad... pretty comfortable.. I liked the black color seats.. espacially the hooks where we can tuck in all the rear seat belt holders. very good feature.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Mileage - Around 20+ in city. I mean it.. that too in first 1000 KMS... This is the best part.. I liked the mileage.

Ride Quality & Handling Excellent.. I enjoy driving this car.. No probs with Pick up.. Thrilling ride.. Good Pick up.. Excellent Handling... great steearing.

Final Words I am happy with my decision. This is a good car.

Areas of improvement Nothing as of now for the price tag that Ford is providing... total value for money.

Build Quality, Mileage, Look from all angles, Looks classyOnly one thing..Rear Space..
