We were searching and researching for the past 1.5 years, test driving nearly 20 different cars, in our hunt for a mid sized sedan. Then came the surprise package from Aveo last quarter, which is Aveo 1.4 LT with ABS.

After test driving the same, we decided to go for it last month. We have already done about 1500 KMs in this short period, including two long drives. The car is clocking an average mileage of 11.5 KMPL in city (with A/C) and about 17 KMPL (on highway). This is impressive considering the large size and heavy nature of the car. Full marks to the interiors, which truly gives the feeling of a rich sedan. We have touched a max speed of 150 KMPH and car feels very stable even at that speed. The large tyres provide superior stability even negotiating acute curves at high speeds. Effective ABS makes you a confident driver even at high speeds.

The only snag we see is the suspension, which is way too smooth for Indian roads (especially bangalore where they prop up without even been painted for identification in nights). Because of this, the under chassis has taken significant number of hits in the last one month. The other issue we faced is the one time not so professional experience we went through with the dealer

We feel justified choosing an Aveo after this long a research, and have named it 'The Boss', true to its majesty, style, performance and comfort. We heartfully say, Go For It.

Stay Tuned !!! We will provide updates every 1000 KMs, which we target to complete every month

This is an update following a 1600 KM run done over 5 days, combining Christmas and New Year Holidays, with family. We managed to touch a max speed of 160 KMPH and believe me, the vehicle felt solid and stable. Mileage on the highway was pretty impressive ranging from 14.5 KMPL to 18.5 KMPL. In all we have done 4000 KMS within a short period of little over 2 months. Till date the going is good and we will repeat the same caption... boss in the segment - go for it

Sorry pals... missed updating for sometime now. I have already clocked 8500 KMS since last update. About 3500 KMs of this was done in the month of May only through three long drives. Till now the only problem I have faced is with A/C failing couple of times. However, when the second time it failed, Kropex (service station in Bangalore) changed the blower assembly against warranty. Subsequently, it is cool!!! From the 160 KMPH reported last time, I could scale upto 170 KMPH during one of the drives this time. The car felt very stable and induced confidence to continue at that speed. Also, effectiveness of ABS braking adds to the confidence. Once again, boss in the segment

Hey... we have finally completed one year and 12000 KMs. Vehicle has gone for three scheduled services till now. We have thoroughly enjoyed the first year of association and look forward to a long association with the vehicle. After this long... a more realistic and stable mileage I can state is about 10.5 to 11 KMPL in city conditions and 14 to 15 in highways. Go for it...

After a long association of 3.75 years and 50000 Kms, we finally bid adieu to our Aveo. It really was a good machine and had given us comfortable & safe drive around all these years.

The resale value for Chevrolet vehicles seem to be pretty low in the market. However, considering the lower capital investment made at the time of purchase, the difference in resale value gets compensated.

Otherwise, we have handed over our boss to another safe hand. I am sure the new owner will continue to have a wonderful time with this fantastic machine.

After actively considering Accent, Linea, Verna,Aveo, ,etc. etc., I finally chose an Aveo. At an on road price of 7.62 lakhs (after dealer discounts), it is a steal for the amount of features it offers including leather seats, two tone beige interiors, ABS, alloy wheels, driver side air bag, integrated 2 din player with six speakers (sexy music system). Feels like having graduated from a real small car (Wagon R, my earlier car driven for 45000 KMs in 4 years) to a rocking spacious car (especially too good for long drives... which is my passion). It is also easy to park. The dealer experience with sundaram motors was poor.It feels like sitting in heaven.I say it is the king of midsizers.Exhaust pipe used to get a hit in every bump before 1st curtacy check upSuperb Styling, Fantastic Interiors, Awesome Airconditioning, Good MileageSuspension too smooth, dealer experience

Exterior This car is very under-rated in its looks when you read reviews, however, Its a beautiful car once you take time to observe the contours. Its got excellent boot space too.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort):  PRO's Clearly, an Aveo beats an SX4 and Fiesta in this department. Aveo offers excellent interiors with leather upholstry, wooden inserts on the dasboard and the doors. The 2 din music system is not only seated well but has a excellent thump with no additions required. Its E-ORVM's are super handy when driving alone. Tilt steering and Driver seat height adjustment just add to the comfort. It also has Headlight beam adjustment just giving an extra edge on a badly lighted road. Airbags just add that safey component. CONS - Cabin noise insulation could have been better. Suspension although not bad at all, could have handled smaller potholes better. Gear Shift is better in an SX4 and a Fiesta.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The 1.4 I drive has a 94bhp, I touched 150 without much effort and think it can handle upto 165kmph. The engine is not the most silent and sometime sounds like a very refined diesel engine (not that bad) when you rev it up. Altough not in the segment of the 1.6 SX4 or 1.6 Fiesta, the power you get form the engine is really good and enough to challenge other cars on the road. Its smooth and gives you excellent power on climbs.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality is good, seats are comfortable more so on the rear. Aveo is not for the speed demons but an excellent family car. It cannot handle high speed maouvers that well, so if you are a hot blooded youngster who wants to rip the road everytime you get behind a wheel, this is not for you. I use it in city and drives upto Pune and its beautiful all the way. Handling is good as long as you are not tyring any high speed stunts.

Final Words : Overall and excellent buy and superb value for money. I do not understand why we dont see too many on the road, but with 10000kms in this car, I say, its a definite winner amongst SX4 and a Fiesta. Its a good package and no other car offers these many features for this price. Compare this with an SX4and a Fiesta on the cost Vs Features and this is winner with Mag Wheels, AirBags, Leather interiors, Excellent sound system, Driver seat height adjustment, Rear Spoilers, E-ORVM's, Keyless Entry etc etc etc...you get the point dont you.

Areas of improvement GM needs to market this car, had it not been my knack to do an extended research before I buy expensive things, I would have never known about an AVEO and ended up with a Desire, SX4 or a Fiesta.
