    DRIVING:
Bought Aveo 1.4 Limited Edition in November 2008. Done 1200 kms so far. The interiors are very good and stylish with good cabin noise insulation. The drive is refined and the pick-up O.K. The suspension is good and has a solid feel. Getting a mileage of 13-14 in city condition so far, without AC, since its winter.

The steering could have been smoother; am told that it is because its hydraulic and not electronic. The gear shift is a bit notchy and does not compliment the otherwise smooth drive. The drive is definitely refined. The inbuilt music system is good.

General Motors provides spare key without remote and the spare wheel in the boot is not alloy. Would have made the package more complete with a spare remote key and a spare alloy wheel in the boot

Buying the car was not a good experience, however this was made up in the first servicing, where the service was friendly, hassel free and smooth. Hope this continues.

    UPDATE MARCH 2009

Have completed about 5,000 kms by March 2009. The car is good and performs well.

The mileage has steadied to about 12-13 km/litre in city and 15-16 km/litre on highways. The suspension is good and at corners the car handles well. The clutch is light and requires less pressure to operate thereby reducing fatigue in city driving; the driving position also is relaxed and is better than most cars of its class, I have driven.

Have clocked a maximum speed 150 km/hr and the Aveo did it without huffing and puffing at all. It was well composed and steady at that speed and could have run faster if prodded on.

This car may not be the most nimble or the fastest to go off the block. If someone is looking for a nippy car for quick driving in the city this is not the car for him. This car does the job well as far as transporting you from point A to B in a refined and stylish manner.

One does come to the same conclusion that overall Aveo is surprisingly, a very good car at its value; especially the 1.4 Limited Edition; only that it is very under-rated.

It was a good decision to go in for this car.

Great looks and style, great interiors, good suspension & fuel economy; value for money.Gear shift notchy, steering would have been more smoother, headlights more powerful
