Exterior Same as wagonr except for front headlamps and grill and should I accept that it has a sporty look.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I do not have words to express my dissapointment! It's a fact that this vehicle is nothing but the same old wagonr.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The company claims that the car gusrentees an overall mileage of 20.41kmpl but the fact is that this vehicle is not capable of giving 10 or 12kmpl in city traffic.

Ride Quality & Handling Similar to that of wagonr. At high speed the car wobbles. The tyre size should be wide enough for it's height. Power delivered by the car is not enough to go high speed in highway. I am scared to drive this vehicle in highways. The a/c effect is not good. Needs lot of improvement.

Final Words This car can be sold in name of wagonr instead of some other name. Nothing impressive.

      Areas of improvement Almost everything.

      nothingeverything!

Exterior Good headlights, foglights, sporty spoiler, good front grill- face (at the moment) till you see more stingrays in 2015.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious, comfortable, high seating,  good black Interiors, Stingray branded seats. I am enjoying the Music, I have installed a Alpine receiver/Usb/Aux (i did not want a CD. All the clutter to keep Cds) The Alpine is made for Stingray.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Superb silent engine, In Mumbai traffic  average of 18.8 km/ltr. In the mornings 20.7km/ltr   on Highway with 4 adults includig driver and luggage gave me a mileage of 22.6Km with AC I Travelled 1200Km on Highway . (my old wagon R used to give me 17/ltr on highways)

      Gears are Ok and smoother

Ride Quality & Handling Comfortable, smooth, but still I feel the tubeless tyeres are a bit hard in comparison to tube tyres, I fill a pressure 36psi in all tyres.  may be after the first service all will be well,  I have made 11900 km .

Final Words If you are young or young at heart just go-for-it or wait for the automatic which is going to be in the market soon.

Areas of improvement The car inner ceiling (roof) is a light color, I am afraid it can catch dust very easily, this is subjective, but I feel It should have been a Dark color or deep grey. All features are well planned in the LXI, except for the side mirrors, should have been controllable by a joy stick from innerside.

Fantastic fuel economy, smart features, spacious, Good black sporty interiors, smooth drive.Tacky floor mats ( I bought new ones from online-shopping)

      Exterior

Outstanding. Front design with projector lamps is superb, with nicely placed Fog lamps. Alloy Wheels, Rear Combination Tail Lamps, Bumpers & Side Skirts, name anything, they are first class. Last but not least the trendy Rear Spoiler adds a bit of style factor, which also improves Fuel Efficiency by reducing the down thrust of the car(a bit technical)

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Seating is good and comfortable. Good thigh support, legroom & Head room. Excellent Music System, need not install woofer for Electrifying Sound, the company fitted speakers does it all. Boot Space needs to be increased a bit. It would be better if Seat Height adjuster is provided. Need a leather wrapped steering wheel in the VXi variant too, as the steering tends to slip at times.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Gearbox is good. Fuel Economy is outstanding, around 15 KMPL in city and an over whelming 24 KMPL in highway rides if done with care. Engine Performance is at par with its class, good pickup, good torque delivery even at lower engine speeds. The only issue with my machine is, it doesn't take-off neatly from being stationary. Don't know whether it's the problem only with my beast.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Excellent ride quality. Manoevours curves easily at high speeds, but need to be careful at too high speeds as its width-to-height ratio is very less. The steering responds quickly & neatly at low speeds as well as highway speeds. Doesn't make too much noise on bumps & pot-holes.

      Final Words

A very good Value For Money car in INDIAN market, which every one should consider while buying. Good start for first time buyers as well as experienced users.

      Areas of improvement

Maruti Suzuki needs to extensively market this machine. Saw just 3 cars On-road in Bangalore in 2 months. They also should give exciting offers on similar lines if Wagon-R. Boot space need to be improved. Painting also needs to be done carefully, my car has a bit irregular Finishing.

Exterior Appealing as a family car ;being from wagon r family its too different in looks as its length is more compare to Wagon R. its perfect city car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) All is good but no in built bluetooth ,space is too good to make 5 person comfortable. & & & u will love the dashboard for sure..its too different. no cheap quality plastic inside.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Smooth & without noise engine, sometime I even forget its ON. fuel economy is good m getting 17-19kmpl. gear box is buttery smooth. I just love to ride my car.

Ride Quality & Handling Till 80km/hr  car is driving u above it u have to be conscious as due to tall boy it get waived by wind somewhat.but can be ignored. handling is just perfect.

      Exterior

The car looks nice. Te new front grille and segment first projector headlights look superb. The Alloys and Side skirts are cool. Rear Spoiler and tail lights add to the styling. Overall, the car looks pretty nice. At first, I thought it looked kind of odd (Not ugly). But eventually I liked it.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

The car is spacious like the simple Wagon R. The piano black finish on the interiors is good. Blue-lit instrument cluster with information like Distance to Empty, Average Fuel Economy, current fuel economy is good. Seats as quite comfortable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I am not an auto expert and I am witing this review based on my personal experience with the car, so I haven't mentioned any technical specs. The car has same 1000cc K series engine of the Wagon R. My Stingray gives me the average economy of 19.1 in city and upto 20-21 on highways. Gearbox is smooth.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Handling of the car is smooth. However, the car does wobble a bit on high speeds due to its tall-boy designs.

      Final Words

Overall, I like this car. I have read many negative reviews about the car on various forums but I don't find many negative things in the car.

      Areas of improvement

Maruti Suzuki should increase the power of this vehicle.
Turn indicators on OVRMs should be provided.
Boot space is less as compared to other cars in the segment, that could e increased

Spacious. Good Fuel Economy. Looks Good. Smooth Steering control. Drive info in instrument clusterLess boot space. No OVRM turn indicators. No rear AC vents

Exterior Just Too Good, Every one likes it, The Front is like a premium cars, and at Night with Projector light the focus goes to 100Mtrs  whihc is very safe distance to look and act on.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Once you sit in  then only you will feel the comfort, It is Specious, Lot of place inside  every one in rear and front are comfortable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I am getting the avg of about 22 Plus   Running avg increased from 19.5 to 19.7 in last 1000 Km  Of course there is some handling care which I have taken. Call me I will tell you   I am on 9370XXXXXX.

Ride Quality & Handling On overdrive and on top you really dont feel that you are sitting in a running car if you are driving at 60 to 80 KMP/Hr  It is that smooth.

Final Words One of the most happy customer. Thanks to Stingrey.

Areas of improvement Add up BT, ADD Up GPS, Upsize the Tyres to 175/55/R14 It Fits best and feel very safe.

The WagonR Stingray is the company's attempt to make the practical and spacious WagonR a bit more compelling and attractive by giving it cosmetic upgrades for a more premium feel. What has changed from the WagonR? Maruti WagonR Stingray is based on the WagonR which sells like hotcakes and shares most of its parts with the WagonR. The car has received a few cosmetics upgrades to the exterior and interior over the standard WagonR.the upgrades to the exterior include, a new and imposing chrome grille along with brand new headlamps with projector setup. The rear has a different tail lamp setup and a chrome strip running across the boot lid with Stingray badging. The side profile remains more or less the same, apart from the new 14” inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the top spec VXi(O) version gets a leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and a driver's side airbag. It also gets a brand new instrument cluster with blue accents. It also gets an MID display which shows two trips and also gives average and instantaneous fuel consumption figures. The door trims and fabric on the upholstery is different from the regular WagonR. How does it drive? Under the hood, the car is still powered by the same 1.0L K10B 3 cylinder petrol motor producing 68 hp and 90 Nm of torque which is coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission putting the power down through the front wheels. This is the same setup from the WagonR and the Celerio. The engine has adequate punch, the clutch is on the lighter side and the gear box, although has long throws is easy to operate in the city and nipping in and out of traffic gaps is a breeze. On the open highways the car settles into a 90-100kmph cruise but anything above this speed makes the engine more vocal and more noises tend to creep into the cabin making it a bit uncomfortable. The company claims a fuel consumption figure of 20.51kmpl and the car returns an odometer indicated figure of 13.5 kmpl in the city and 16.5 kmpl on the highway. Space and practicality The car is an extremely practical city commuter which has tons of space on the inside. The doors open wide and entry into the car is an almost walk-in experience which makes it a breeze to use for older passengers. The seats are comfortable and supportive and there is enough room to seat three in the back. Knee room is adequate and there is tons of headroom. There are two cup holders and one bottle holder in the entire cabin which is not quite much. The boot space also remains more or less the same at 180 litres which can be easily increased if need be by tumbling the back row of seats which split 60:40 ratio by pulling a lever.  Refinement levels and cabin insulation aren't up to the mark as the engine is very audible once it gets past the 2,500 rpm mark and road and tyre noises creep into the cabin especially at higher speeds. Does it justify the premium price over the standard WagonR? That's a difficult question to answer as the cosmetic upgrades have made the Stingray around ?50,000 more expensive than the regular WagonR for the base LXi trim and this difference remains more or less the same till the top trim. The better looking exteriors and a few tiny changes to the interiors of the car doesn't really create a USP for it as the car is identical to the WagonR mechanically. So the higher price tag isn't very justifiable making the car difficult to recommend.

Wagon R has always been a car worth your money, and the company exceeds the same even more with this upgraded and full loaded version called Stingray. I drive the top end version which has stering mounted controls, abs, airbag, internally controlled side mirrors. This car at 5 lacs is the best.
