I must appreciate Maruti, the way it names its cars. Unique and out of the box. Haven't heard of The word Ritz, Celerio, Ertiga, etc before their launch. Unlike the cars makers, who use ordinary names like grand i10, superb, harrier, venue, etc, Maruti chooses out of the box names. Now coming to Ritz, 2011, Vxi abs, I bought this car from a friend, without even having a glance at it. It happened in a few hours, he told me that he was selling it, I was keen to buy. At time of buying, I considered to get a cng kit installed in it, but it has been a year, I never felt the need for it. At the time of buying, it was 10 years old and was driven just 50,000 kms, for 1,30,000. The listed price on olx and other platforms is around 3 lakhs. You can say, kind of a steal deal. I have driven it for more than 10,000 kms, driving outstation for twice a month. The car has surprised me in some areas, 1. The amount of headroom you get, not less than a room in itself. Trust me, you can stand and drive. 2. The driving position is very comfortable. A huge windscreen and upright driving position. I am 5'8 and i have really never felt the need of having height adjustments. 3. Decent amount of legroom in the back seat adds to the USP of the car. 4. The engine is responsive, i got just the air filter clean and oil filter replaced. There was no need for an oil change. Might get it done after a few hundred kms. 5. The boot capacity is also decent. Not the best but you can fit in 2 medium size suitcases and 2 backpacks. 6. The car is stable at high speeds. I drove it upto 120 kmph. ( My model has ABS feature) 7. Punchy styling and sports appeal. The car was once famous among youth, because of the sporty appeal it offers. Swift and Ritz, share majority of the features and audience, but the swift in 2011 was boxy looking and felt quite outdated. Ritz was a fresh new design. USP being, it offered ABS and the headroom. The negatives- 1. The car is not durable. This is common with all Maruti cars and I knew it at time of buying. A strong punch on the car with surely surprise you with an expected outcome. 2. Seats are not comfortable. The back seat has a upright seating position, which can be harassing on long trips. Cant imagine three people on the seat, because there isn't enough shoulder room. 3. Maruti cars are famous for mileage. Mine gives around 13 kmph with ac on. However, it depends on driving style also, but still, company claims around 20 kmph, i can expect atleast 15 kmph. 4. Disgusting shockers. I cant blame the car, because it has been 11 years now, but once 5 people sit inside the car, the shockers are suppressed to its minimum. 5. Very loud engine. This is not because of the age of the car, it is like this only. My friend comments, from day one it sounds like a generator has been turned on. I got the last service done from a local mechanic, whom i trust the most. He said there was no need for an oil change, also mention d earlier, the air filter and oil filter were replaced, which cost around 1500 rs., Quite inexpensive. Maruti cars are well known for this. I am now using it as my primary car, for daily city commute, like going to college or visiting someone. For distant travel, i commute with Honda amaze. Lastly, Ritz is a car which will keep you surprised, and is great for city use. Do give this review a thumbs up, Thanking You

This is my 10th year using this car, first ritz vdi i purchased in 2011 and exchanged with new ritz vdi in 2014. I think there is no alternative to this car in this segment in terms of comfortable driving, mileage and power

I did not like the looks of Swift , Wagon R though they are great cars so I was eagerly waiting for the launch of Ritz.

1)I wanted a car which has good seat height so that one can enter into it without bending his knees: I founded  it in Ritz

      2) Iwanted a car with good fuel economy : I founded it Ritz as it promises to give 17.7 Km/ per Lit.

      3) I wanted a car which suits to my budget : Ritz begins with Rs. 4.34 lacs

      4) I wnated a car into which my entire family can travel : 5 can comfortably travel , the rear seat is spacious as as one healty, one Ok and one thin get into the rear seat and travel long distance (three healty person can travel short distance)

      5) I wanted a larger boot space : I found it bit less than what I thought off but a family can travel with 2 suitcases and one bag easily I think this much is sufficient.

      6) I wanted a car which has refreshing interiors: Ritz lacks in this area, some improvement is needed.

      7) I wanted a car which has powerful engine and good pick up : Nothing to say , it is very good and I think this is one of the biggest factor which will make this car a popular car.

      8) I needed good refreshing colous : I had to compromise with silver (maruti company should come up with good colours for its all cars)

      9) What I liked about the looks is its rear side , though many people may have different views but I think that finally people will like its rear looks.

      10) With the price tag , performance of engine , milage, refreshing looks , good height and wider body shape this car has the potential to rule the roads for the coming years.

Refreshing Style, Better fuel economy, value for moneyAverage interiors, less boot space

I am happy to own a RITZ now... its an awesome package by maruti.. to begin with the engine is so damn powerful and once u cross the 2000 rpm the engine roars ferociously for a 1.3L capacity. the fuel consumption is so little that i almost forget at times to include that cost in my monthly expenses... interiors are well planned and the high mounted gear box is a pleasure to drive.. when ur inside u feel ur sitting in a big car which makes u feel that u own the road with this beast... the technology has improved the diesel engines to a great extent that it is goin to be more common than petrol... i am from UK, i have been in AUDIs and BMWs and this car is AUDI or BMW for a person with 6L as budget... some say negative about the rear design... but i feel that its predecessor, swift received the same comments but then now the common face in indian roads... this car is sure to receive the same welcome and familiarity on indian roads...the reason for the rear design is that it is better in aerodynamics... the car is stable in spite of being a tall boy.. to people in confusion i would say u can go for this car with ur ears shut to other opinions... and i wud say "a new star is born"Good fuel economy, different looks, good comfort, awesome poweri don't really find any...

I was waiting for this car... expected more.. but missing out some thing... Could have improved interiors, tubeless tyres and remote fuel lit are few features which every one look for in this segment, but these 2 are missing even in high end version...they could have price this low...   Apart from this good car good style good fuel economy.... will be a good competitor for i10 and Spark....
Fuel Economy, latest engine, Moderate StyleDoes not have tubless tyres, remove fuel lit and remote tailgate opener not available

      Exterior

Exterior of the car is not a problem for me.  Initially I was also a bit uncomfortable with rear, but now more I look at it, more I like it.  It looks distinctively different, more stylish, fresh and a car to possess.  I think it is the best value for money currently.  Those who are confused between Swift and Ritz or Ritz and Beat, Bedhadak, go for Ritz.  You would not repent.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Great.... No complaints.  Mine is a vxi version, but got integrated sterio fitted, with which the car looks stunning now.  There is a great head room, very comfortable front seats and rear as well.  I feel pampered in the car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Super silent, extremely smooth cant make out if the engine is on or not.  Fuel economy, I dont know currently as i have just clocked 125 kms till date.

      Final Words

Go for it... Petrol Versions are luxury.

      Areas of improvement

Clutch is a bit hard, don't know why may be its new.  Maruti Guys say it would be softer after 5000 kms.

Comfort, Styling, Interiors, Ride Quality, Front Space, Geers etc.nothing specific currently

      Exterior Average.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Average.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Rode 21000 km in 7 months all 3 services over giving me an average of 22 to 26km/ltr.

Ride Quality & Handling Very good.

      Final Words Value for money.

Areas of improvement More ground clearance, interior plastic better quality. Ritz is a car of personal choice....we donot buy cars every day.Ritz is good when you are driving long, its more stable at high speed and its looks n style is different which is a taste factor.overall it is a versatile car which can suit any member of the family.people with relatively good hight(above 5'7)should go for this car because of its tall boy looks.its a good car and is having a good future like swift.

Overall Experience In this period of Petrol hike you will get maximum 17 if your are at 55- 60 you will get more even with AC, The other plus points. As a maruti vehicle it will give  you very good re-sale value if you compare all other hatches in the same class. Sapare parts cheap and easly available.

Reliability: Since a Maruti is a Mkt leader you can relay them. Service Network  you will get service support every nook and corner.

Exterior It is not easy to make good looking tall boy. As per my view, if you want to look diffrent and stand out of crowd then Ritz is that choice. It looks elegant, sharp, sophisticated and diffrent among the crowd.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Deshboard is a very elegant and adding luxury feel in the cabin. Huge wind shild allow good view around and makes driving a easy task in crowded traffic. Gear lever mounting location is extremly good and convenient in city driving condition. At front car is extramly roomy, high roof is giving the feel of a huge room. But at rear the space is conservative. Seat is fixed at hight and so providing good under thigh support but lag room feels short. I felt seat is bit straight and need to push back a little bit by increasing seating angle. But still comfortable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Ritz biggest winning point, it's engine. During my drive the engine was continuously eagr to run. Very aggressive engine and run smooth at low end tourgue condition. Showing full respect to gas paddle even at very low speed traffic conditions. As per my view 16-17 kmpl efficiency in this type of crispy engine is a marvalious deal.

Ride Quality & Handling Secound winning point of Ritz is it's suspensions. Showing no respect to potholes and giving a smoooooth ride. No hatch is able to do this, it perform like a SUV on rough termec roads. Excellent for Indian road condition.

Final Words Before taking test drive of Ritz, I suggest you to take test drive of all vehicle which you like to buy but confused among, then come to Ritz. I am sure we wil not go out of showroom without booking it (Same thing happened to me). Before test drive I was confused between i10 and Figo. I10 I rejected immiditly because during my test drive I felt that this car is not for me (I don't know why), I liked ford figo but except space nothing was impressive in that and engine was disappointingly lazy. Me and my wife casually went to Maruti showroom (unplanned) just to have a look on what's offering? Eventually we fell in love with Ritz and here it is we have a new car RITZ...

This car is launched in Europe in 2008 and in India 2009 after testing success, Suzuki is going to launch it in China by Dec 2010.

Areas of improvement Rear seat should be pushed back a bit to provide more comfortable back rest otherwise car is a Gem.

Aggressive Engine, Comfortable on roads full of potholes thanks to soft suspensionRear seat angle and lacking lag room at rear.

I did lot of survey for the cars at the time of buying and booked Swift VDI  in march . I waited for 2 months and when I got the call for car delivery I saw the new Maruti Ritz which got launched in May .

When I saw the car first , honestly I didn't like it and decided to continue with Swift Vdi . I went back home and did some research  and thought its not that BAD .. so again went to the showroom and took a test drive . Now after second look found it much more useful than Swift , specially the Petrol Engine.

Its less expensive then Swift VDI and has the latest K 12 series engine which is the latest one among all Petrol cars in the market.

So I decided to go for the latest technology and "Yes my decision was correct "

The engine is awesome with great pickup and is very smooth , infact when I was parking my car in the market , the Parking guy said " Boss yeh gadi Battery pe chalti hai kya  , koi awaaz nahin aati "

I think this says it all for the smoothness of the enigine which is very refined !

Only issue is the rear view or probably for some the rear look , which is little different  . But nobody liked Swift even when it came first !!

Now after a month of driving Ritz , I am satisfied and daily I can see 2-3 Ritz on  Delhi Road which confirms the Car is doing Great !!!

I have taken the test drive of almost all cars in that segment Consist of Swift, UVA, i10, Indica Vista. I found Swift is best in Power & pickup but less in mileage, also the 4 years old technology as wll as very common therefore I dropped the plan else Swift is unbeatable. UVA is best in space but dull in pickup & moderate in Mileage, i10 has good look but bit congested on rear seats & doesn’t responded well on acceleration (moderate power & pickup but felt like stressing on engine) hence only the Car which satisfied me is Ritz. I went for the test drive, it has a good pickup, sufficient power & good mileage. I have easily touched the speed of 100Km/PH that I came to know when I saw the Speedo meter so the stability is also good. It’s a tall body so you feel like you are driving some SUV/MUV. There was a Honda CRV just beside to me & I was almost on the same height of driver’s seat. I have booked Ritz LXi in Blue Blaze color on 24th Aug 09 & getting the delivery on Dussera. I will keep posting my updates on the performance & other parameters.

Good fuel economy, Good style, Easy to get in & get down, New InteriorBack side is not effective, No Bright Red color
