Hyundai Venue revealed: Exterior design highlights

This is the much awaited Hyundai Venue. The all-new sub-four metre SUV from the Korean carmaker is a global product that has been revealed concurrently in India as well as at the New York Motor Show. The Venue is here to take the fight to the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport in their own backyard. Before we could see it flesh, let us have a detailed look at the exterior design of the new Hyundai Venue. 

New fascia:

The Venue carries Hyundai’s new design language which was seen already on the new-gen Santa Fe and the India-bound Kona. The current trend of two-tier headlamps is seen with sleeker LED units mounted atop the bonnet. Meanwhile, a larger squared-off headlamp – which also gets projector units – positioned on either side of the cascading grille. This lower unit also get surround LED day-time-running lights which adds a lot of character to the fascia. There is a generous amount of chrome on the mesh-type grille. And the well-designed bumper gets a contrasting finish bash plate and circular fog lamps on either side.  

Creta-like silhouette:

The Hyundai Venue measures 3995x1770x1590mm in dimension with a wheelbase of 2500mm. Sitting under four metres in India, the silhouette of the new Venue looks like a scaled down Creta. Roof rails and body cladding add to the crossover appeal. And the newly-designed two-tone alloy wheels match the overall design of the Venue. 

The dual-tone paint option adds a contrast-coloured roof as well. On the other hand, the flared front fender adds much-needed masculinity to the Venue. The sharp shoulder line runs from the sleek LEDs all the way to the taillights. 

Sculpted rear:

The tailgate of the Venue gets a raked rear window. The rest of the tailgate has a sharp indentation joining the taillights. The ‘Venue’ moniker is stretched across the tailgate, below the Hyundai logo as well. The square taillights get LED lighting signature and also have an integrated reverse light. The variant and engine badging are positioned below the tailgate on either side. The license plate at the rear is positioned in the bumpers below. The similarly designed contrasting bash plate at the rear is present as well.
