This is my review on Chevrolet Sail U-VA LS (Petrol)

Exterior Car looks like a mini Cruze when looking at the front and looks like an Alto when looking at the rear. But still I liked the looks and it is more attractive than Swift, Figo, Beat, Punto etc.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The only thing which I like in the car is its interior space. This car has got an enormous spacing inside the cabin. Enough legroom even for tall passengers (I am tall enough and I felt very comfortable on the driving seat as well as the rear passenger seat). The car has got power windows for all the four doors with central locking. Steering adjustments gives additional comfort when you go for long drives. Hydraulic power steering gives a good feel on the car. Rear seats can be folder down in 40:60 ratio, however if you fold the rear sear to accommodate cargo, you have to pull the driver seat forward that may limit the space for tall drivers.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox According to the specifications, the petrol engine has got 86 bhp @6000 rpm. This may looks like the Sail is powered same as Swift, Ritz and I20. However, while driving, I felt it is not even powered as Alto. Alto at least have a good throttle response. But Sail really disappointed me in pick up, power and acceleration. It was struggling to pass an inclination slope where as an Alto won’t be struggling like this much. Low pickup, less acceleration of this noisy engine really made me disappointed. Later I heard the same complaint from a Chevy Aveo U-VA owner too.

The car can give a fuel economy around 12 in city traffic and 16 in highways. Gear shifting was not as smooth as I20, but it was as good as Swift, Punto and better when compared to Figo.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good and this car can be handled well in high speeds. Sail U-VA is longer and heavier when compared to other hatchbacks and has got good stability on the road. Nice feel in bumpy roads as it got nice suspension.

Final Words I won’t recommend this car. Chevrolet Sail U-VA petrol is really a bad performer. Comfort, space and features are not the things which need to be considered. If you consider only comfort, please go for Ambassador..!!!

Areas of improvement Chevrolet should really work on Sail U-VA to improve its power, pickup and performance.

Space, Comfort, Stability on high speeds, Boot space, Airbag available for driver.Hopeless pickup, noisy engine, less acceleration, powerless AC, low throttle response
