At first glance, anybody can make out that it’s a VW car. Thanks to its sibling's inspired looks (Don’t know if VW has any other designs – Polo, Vento, Jetta - all have the same front end).
High speed stability is fantastic. You never feel discomfort at high speeds. Steering response is good.
Impressive feature list include cruise control, auto wipers, reversing camera, touchscreen etc. Interior quality is among this segment's best.
The materials used are high quality and the fit and finish are excellent. It blows the budget cabins of the Dzire & Amaze away. There are no rough edges anywhere. Flat-bottom steering gets leather, chrome accents and piano black panels for a premium look. It's chunky and sweet to hold. Hornpad will be a stretch for those with small hands. It's not easy to press either.
Unfortunately, European orientation means lights on the left and wipers on the right. Switches for the cruise control are located on the indicator stalk.Typical VW ORVM adjustment knob is located on top of the door handle. ORVMs can be retracted electrically by turning the knob to the topmost position (clockwise or anti-clockwise). The lock/unlock buttons are large. The doors auto-lock at 15 km/h. The lock/unlock action is audible, although not as loud as say the TUV300. Good value for money.

engine is very powerful. no problems while overtaking and ghat sections. reverse gear shift is innovative.

i have been using highline diesel for last one month and driven about 4000 km, i have been consistently getting average of 19 and above irrespective of the roads. on highways even upto 22 km that is more than promised avrage of 20.7.unique features like rain sensing wipers and cruise control add to the driving comfort.
handling is excellent. i have been using a hatback till now and still i do nat find any difficulty in driving a sedan.

Exterior Great Style. Car’s overall stance looks well-balanced. Black color top gives a sport look. VW Badge will enhance looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good Space and Comfort. First in Class features like Cruise Control, anti-pinch power windows, rain sensing wipers, etc... Dashboard design is simple.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel economy is decent with around 15 KMPL within City. Gears are smooth and we can revv...up the engine and it will give a nice roar.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride quality, you will feel the difference if we go on a long drive and good for city roads also. Cruised at speed of 120 KMPL and dont feel any difficulty.
Final Words Its a Driver`s Pleasure. A good buy for those looking for comfort, safety, something different and unique. German Engineering at its best and they have come up with a car that suits Indian tastes less priced with more features and good value for money in C1 Segment.
Areas of improvement Can improve leg space at rear seats, feels uncomfortable those who are tall, above 5'10" inches Height.

Nicest, sober looks which surely provide a feeling of toughness.. However, those looking for funky impressive looks, will not like it.

Many features packed in. Space is good. Climate control works well. Yet to experience the rain sensing vipers. Phone and music bluetooth connectivity is good. Ingress and egress is little dififcult for heavy and tall builds.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Engine noise is diesel like, even in Petrol and takes time to get used to. But, with that, comes good power distribution characteristics. At high speeds above 30 though, this goes away and the cabin silence is comparable to any petrol car that you can talk of. Engine perfomance is one of the best and I have attained speeds of 110 kmph at times, with full load- 5 grown ups + boot full of luggage. However, when it comes to racing with biggies, it sure looses steam above 110 kmph. But, that is good for a safe ride. Fuel economy nears what is claimed by VW. Gearbox is smooth enough.
Ride Quality & Handling
Suscpension performance over bad roads is one of the best that you can experience on India roads. Huge speed breakers suddenly mean nothing and it is relieving to get rid of the dilemmas- Whether to cross the speed breaker or not!! Stability at high speeds also is very good, although stability on sharp turns at speeds above 100 are a concern. Overtaking and cutting corners is very easy. At times, on few pot holes though, the thud of the suscpension is frightening. You feel like the suscpension broke, but it does not.
Biggest VFM feature of the Ameo is the "Cruise Control". You should experience it to understand what is stated here. Its a Big relief on long drives. And you get it only on +15 lacs vehicles other wise. Smartest move by VW, which unfortunately is way ahead of time.
Final Words
Good value for money for those, who want to migrate to their first mini-sedan. Especially, the safety features that VW have packed in. You really feel safe in this car.
Areas of improvement
1) Mirrorlink is a feature which is almost not usable and is a waste of money by VW. After IOS and Android, people do not want nore dependencies. They could have tried provding something better which could cast screens of your cell phone to the touchscreen. With the premium paid, one would expect at least to be able to see the GPS Navigation from cell phone, even without any touch screen feature supported. Or watching videos. This would have been a USP had VW taken little more inputs. (Given that Ameo is designed for India)
2) The blowers provided ( For rear seat passengers lack switch on/switch off functions. Take up too much space compared to the comfort provided. Absence of flat floor makes it difficult for the rear middle passenger to feel comfortable.

Final Words Guys, Please don't go with any compact sedan(CS)cars in India. CS cars are just made for india & they are making business with us.
Areas of improvement Lots to be improved, still am wondering why Volkswagen is using old 3 cylinder 1.2L MPI Engine. its need to be changed, 3 cylinder 1.2L MPI engine was using in FABIA petrol segment, even FABIA sales has been stopped in INDIA long back. I don't know why VW group is using FABIA engine after long time. VW is very worst in serivice and expansive too.
Personally, I felt very bad with volkswagen Highline1.2 Ameo(1.2L MPI Engine).
Extraordinary features with in this price range.Engine performance is very worst in this compact sedan segment. It is just having 3 cylinder engine.Exterior/Styles

Exterior When I was called from the dealer several times for Test Drive,I make my mind for test drive as regular approach by the dealer I was not full fledge to test Drive but as soon as I reached the showroom with my younger son Shawaiz its look was so impressive just different from all its VW cars just different so My first Impression over Look is Very Beautiful as I am lover of my earlier Car Hyundai GETZ for 15 years,it is now switcheable.Toffee Brown was the colour.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) When I opened the door under the dashboard lights are on so impressive then I seated on drivers seat,The Starring wheel touched my heart as it is flat in the bottom such type of things are generally in racing cars and highly priced cars have it again I impressed then went for Drive its accelaration again impressed me very nice acceleration then I tried with AC also works nicely smoothness of engine is still exists,then tried the cruise control means automatic moving of the vehicle in a fixed speed no need for acceletor only starring wheel control so nice,automatic wipers are so good starring whell Adjustments with Tilt and Telescopic is so nice for comfortness Driver seat adjustments are also very easy.
Anti pintch windows glass are great addition ,Day and night rear view mirror is so nice,electronically controlled side door mirrors are so nice with turning indication inbuilt only lack of little more space in rear are needed overall great CAR for me and who have knowledge of car performance.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is nice I have got 20kmpl in highways and 15 to 17 kmpl in city. Gearbox is also very smooth even the back gear shiftment is different from others.
Ride Quality & Handling I feel very gripy over the road as its weight of the AMEO feels like I am driving the higher end cars like BMW and AUDI.
Final Words I love my VW AMEO very much.
Areas of improvement Everything is provided accept the new generation symbol of keyless entry and start. And safety point of view more AIRBAGS should be provided instead of 2 with extra charges.
