This is Dr. Manish Pithwa, I bought nexon diesel xz+ in diesel thinking tata motors have improved with their cars but my thinking was wrong.

Within 1st month I noticed that my seat belt could not be put on the driver side when I increased the seat height which required loosening of the anchors. Then immediately after 1st free service i noticed fog lamps starting by themselves and in few days headlights stopped working. This needed emergency repairs as i was suppose to take my car to pune next weekend. After that service in next two days DRLs stopped working and same fog lamp problems started. In next month my steering wheel started making wierd noice and became unstable. I registered the complaint and immediately next day morning my fuel was leaking. I had to register emergency complaint to resolve the issue.

I think I made biggest mistake by buying a Tata car. I had lot of people saying not to buy tata car but I thought tata motors had improved. Feeling sad that I made a wrong choice. I neped all my complaints resolved or I am filing a consumer court complaint regarding the quality of the car. Can not depend on the built of the car. Have to think twice before taking the car anywhere.

i bought XZA+ petrol version and now it has been 6 months 6400 kms run. overall, the car is very good in terms of its power, handling & controls. But the worst part for AMT is its mileage. i am getting max 9km/lit in city drive and max 11km/lit on highways. This is so poor. i raised complaints many times to dealership but its of no use. received typical TATA responses. i was surprised when dealership service technician asked me not to drive car in city if i am getting average below 9km/lit. this is what TATA still holding their name as bad service providers. I took this point within the company but there also i got disappointing answers and they tried to convince me how the product is good. i am really fed up buying this car as till the time i complete 6000 kms of run, my expenses on petrol were 40k+ :( sometimes i feel i bought mini tata truck and not a car as its always takes me to petrol pump. My sincere opinion is - if some one buying Tata Nexon AMT Petrol version, please please please do not go for this, its the worst mileage Car in this segment and even more worst service you will get.

I actually followed this car since the time it came in auto expo, was keen to to buy it as soon as it was launched. I bought Nexon Diesel XM model model on December 2017 and since then its been a terrible time that I have faced and still facing.

When I took the delivery from Okhla Tata Treo showroom, immediately after driving it from the showroom car engine started missing, there was no pickup, I called the service people and they sent some person next day to check, he did something from his laptop after connecting it in the car. Then he told me to drive and see, same thing happened again after a day or two lag in pick up no torque at all in the car. Again I raised a complaint, same procedure was followed and nothing happened, then after sometime I went to the workshop, they updated a software and told me to drive it and give a feedback.

Same thing happened after I drove it for 100-200 kms lag in the car with no pick up. Same procedure again the senior technician came at my place and when we went for a test drive, missing and lag happened in front of him, he then called his senior and told him about persistent problem, they told me to leave the car at the service center, which I did, after two days they called me that it is ok now and you can take it, I took it and on my way back same thing happened again.

I called service senior person and told him the same, he told me to leave the car, which I did the next day, it took almost 10 days the car was with them this time. They called me and said that everything is fine now, you drive and give your feedback. I took the delivery from service station and again the same day, same problem repeated.

So the charm of buying the car I wanted to buy for which I waited for such a long time has disheartened me and now I feel I took a wrong decision buying this car. Still my problem is not resolved.

Purchased Nexon XZA+ on 20/6/2019 from Ambattur, Chennai. High vibration of car in 1st gear and reverse from day 1. Dealer executive said " I have to get adjusted to new Car" !!!!. Weird noises after applying brake from front and back. Complained at Service center - they said it is normal. Complained to CEO Concorde and Tata Motors twice no use. They will call and say everything is normal. Complained to Customer care head - Vehicle was in service center for 7 days (in 2nd month of purchase, earlier visited service center twice within a month) and found that Clutch is defective. To change clutch and fly wheel they made to buy AMC Gold which I was not interested but to get my car out of service center, I had to pay. Nexon is Nuxan - never ending problems. As per TATA all these problems are normal !! 1. Knocking sound from engine while AMT shifts gear from 1 to 2 to 3. 2. Weird noises after braking. 3. Swing motion front & back like wooden toy horse after braking (min. 3 times). Even in Govt. you will not fall front unless hard braking. 4. Inconsistent and mis fits in interiror plastic - looks super rich from outside but plastic is of cheap quality - any item placed in glove box, door panel, sun glass folder will result in sound / vibration while driving. And lastly forget about mileage - 6 to 6.5 in city traffic while MID shows constant 8 which is tampered by TATA. Two months of nightmare owning this vehicle and feeling as if I have burnt my Rs.11+ lakhs. Reason for buying AMT is drive smoothly in traffic but Nexon is complete package of unpleasant driving experience in traffic. I feel as if I am driving a 10 years old car and sense that I may need to change clutch every 5000 kms. Everyday I have to be cautious that no other problem creeps in. Earlier I have driven Polo for 75k kms without changing clutch. When product itself is defective any level of service given by TATA will not give trust on their cars.

Nexon is a good mid segment SUV, i have driven around 1500 Km with completion of first service. Pros:good pick up and control, nice Look, nice staring control, Fantastic ground clearance helps to drive in village roads with out any hesitation. Body is very strong which we can feel while opening the door itself. Cons: Mileage is around 10 (Petrol Version), hoping to get more while going long drive with economy mode. Entering the car from driver side is not much comfortable as we may hit the head to the body, need some improvements in this area, This is designed for 6 gears but rarely we could able to apply it in Indian roads, also this may confuse some people with the reverse gears in other vehicles. Service center needs to be improved and show room and sales support is not up to the mark (3 star ratings) especially compared to the Maruthi Suzuki (I was holding Maruti Swift earlier). Manual book is not providing the required information, They have to improve and learn it from the Maruthi Suzuki.

Nexon petrol mileage is a big issue in purchasing decision making process. I do had same in mind. I did purchase on sep23 2018. I have now completed 1300km. What I found that for first 200km, mileage was about below 10km ( mainly drove in city with lots of doped breaker). For next 500km it went up to 16km( mainly drove on highway with traffic jam at few places). Today I tried on NH and state highway with hardly any traffic issue... I kept Echo mode below 2k rpm in gear5. I was surprised to note mileage reached to 20.6km( yes petrol car..1st service due)....I hope I can improve further after first service..car is running well with little sound. Driving is comfortable specially person like me 6feeet tall. Did drive in Ahmedabad city traffic and found little late to respond specially in low Gera's.

Will you travel by an airline which in the past almost crash landed or has a history of crashes?

Well, it seems I selected such a terrible company to select my next ride Tata Nexon.

From Day 1 it is a terror. Got stalled on week 1. Issues one after another means over 12 visits since purchase date.

Imagine a new car and parts changed include: Gear Oil Seal, Oil Pressure Sensor, AC Comp, Indicator Switches. Add to woes is steering which was never centred from day 1 and makes terrible noise. Add to it horror that it used to get locked on U Turn.

Now Tata fan boys will say, Whats wrong. At least Tata corrected faults. What if it was your car?

Yeah, only after 4-5 visits for U Turn Issue. AC Comp 2 visits. These are just examples.

Bad Service Here is an example. After second service Oil Pressure Warning light error was shown. I called TASC. Manager said he will call back. Offcourse, he never did. When I called back, he said why it happens in your car. We cannot trust it. This when I had shared image with his senior.

When I highlighted this to MD of TATA MOtors, his team denied that there is no issue and Mr Gumeet explained me everything.

It was a lie as warning light was there. Offcourse, later without informing service centre about this fiasco, I apprached a new TASC and they said Sensor is at fault.

What Else is there to prove??

      Buy at your risk!!

      Drive at your risk!!

      Own at your risk!!

      Service at your risk!!

Because no one responds. What is shocking is WHO AT SENIOR LEVEL LIE!

      I am speechless.

LooksBad Steering, Pathetic TASC, Issues, Unreliable

Exterior Everyone will look at you and your beautiful beast when you take this on the road. The white ceramic strips totally highlight the moroccan blue version and Complemets the car in a way it looks like a 20 lakhs car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I am using the XM variant and the interior is More than the value of money we pay , The three tone dash and some high quality materials will make this car a comfortable place to have your drive , if there is one negative in interior is that the rear window is quite small compared to rivals but hey common the sloping roof makes the car to look at its best so can be taken as a compromise.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Tell me a car that has Turbo charged petrol engine under 8 lakhs , the answer is no . This is the most affordable Turbo charged perol engine in India and an it works like a charm as its a turbo charged there is a little bit of turbo lag below 1700 rpm but above that it just works like wow. I had an economy of 15 KMPL in city mode which is great and this is unarguably one of the finest gear box i have used.

Ride Quality & Handling The suspesion works like a charm and i cant explain in words drive it to believe it , Since its the petrol version that i rode there was barely engine noise entered in the cabin , Well done TAMO.

Final Words Dont waste your time reading the review or in a dual mind just go take a test drive am sure you will book this car right away.

Areas of improvement Cruise control in XZ+ would have been there and 195 mm tyres for lower variants could have been 205 mm.

Stylish looks, Value for money , Great infotainments and Overall packageRear seat no head room adjustments and no rear AC for XM variant and 195 mm tyres

I bought my Nexon XZ+ on the second day after its launch. Yet the waiting period was two months. It reflected two facts. One- Nexon is going to be the hit. Second-Tata yet to improve on many other factors than product alone, like supply chain, production line management, sales and service, etc. Coming to the driving experience. It's simply awesome. I have driven many Tata vehicles in past and this one is beyond the expectations. The vehicle is heavy and that results in stability at high speeds. Yet it's powerful enough to leave behind the traffic. Besides, you have an option to choose between the fuel efficiency and power. Another plus point. I was able to reach 140 easily, with the vehicle fully loaded to its capacity (ofcourse with power mode). About looks and performance - smashing. Couple of times we found people even clicking selfies with the vehicle when parked in public parking spaces. Suspensions are superb. Found it comfortable enough to drive for 6 hours straight. My parents are 60 plus never complained about rough terrain, even though we travelled some rocky roads of waynad. Although the smooth suspension cause a little roll over at curves at high speed. But not a concern at all.

      Pros-

      1. Looks.

      2. 6 speed gear box gives you better choice of suitable gear at any given speed.

      3. Drive modes gives you the flexibility of suitable option matching your driving style.

      4. Weight gives you stability at high speeds.

      5. Turbocharger gives the needed extra power and you feel that after driving other competitors vehicles.

      6. Boot space is the largest in the segment except for duster.

      7. Ground clearance is highest in the segment.

      8. Cost effective.

      Cons-

      1. Petrol version should have been 4 cylinder for lesser vibrations.

      2. Owner's manual does not touch up upon many things. Tata need to improve a lot on these small aspects.

      3. The steering beam is very close to the clutch and brake pedal, with its couplings exposed. I am not an expert, but this concerns me a little.

      4. Did I mention that the position of sixth gear in Nexon is actually the position of reverse gear for other cars..? That means, if you drive Nexon for couple of years, I am sure you need to be extra careful while driving any other vehicle or else you would be in serious trouble.

      5. The owner's manual does not talk about the Anti theft security of the vehicle. Don't know if there is any such system (impact sensors, motion sensor, etc) installed in it or not.

      6. No telescopic adjustment for steering.
