Exterior Bigger and smarter than comparable SUV's. Head turner. Lokks great with LED lights on at night. From the side it looks sleeker than the bulky Fortuner that I test drove a number of times before settling for Rexton.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)Cabin space and seats are comfortable. 2nd row is spacious and very comfortable. Third row is low and only comfortable for children. AC is good. Rear AC for third row is also v good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine has sufficient power I once drove into quicksand-like mud and the R front wheel got stuck. I was wondering what to do when a passerby advised me to put it in reverse gear. He said AWD drive would pull it out. It did and easily.
I am getting a fuel average of 10.5 km/l in city driving with AC. 11.5 on highways. It really depends how you handle the vehicle. frequent /sudden acclereration and brakings are pointless in city driving. A bike is perhaps better for one thus predisposed. The 2nd service at 20000 is due. Economy should improve.
Ride Quality & Handling There is no cabin noise really. No vibrations. Suspension is so smooth it gives a sedan-like comfort. Brakes are awesome. There is a lag in pick-up on auto-drive that can be offset in manual mode. However I always prefer the autodrive mode.
Final Words Really value for money. My friend wanted me to buy his Fortuner. I asked him to test drive Rexton. I said I'd do whatever he said after he test drove rexton. Post test-drive he told me to buy Rexton. I am satisfied !
Areas of improvement
Treffic suspension. Noiseless spacious cabin. Auto adjustable driver seat.Automatic lights and wiper1-2 sec lag in pick-up. Weak head-lights on Highway-driving

Exterior Very decent n up market exterior give a strong n proud feeling of driving rexton. I must add to it that I have experienced people turning back watching this car running on road. This has been my personal experience. People thinks of being an imported suv. BOY IF U GET THIS KIND OF TREATMENT ON ROAD WHATELSE ONE CAN ASK FOR.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) INTERIOR IS GOOD ONLY THING IRRITATES ME ISsafety feature that video cannot be seen in running car,one has to put on handbrake then only u can see the videos on music system WELL I THINK ITS GOOD FOR SAFETY

Exterior Very stylish and catches attention.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable. The way the back seats can be converted as a bed is an excellent feature. During our long trips we really utilized this feature to its best. The middle seat is comfortable but the back seat is not very comfortable for adults.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good engine performance gives a 9.5 km/l in city and approximately 10.5 km/l on long drive. One observation - on steep hill the vehicle tend to move backward even when the gear is on D.
Ride Quality & Handling Excelent stearing control and not at all tyring. drove from Coching to Bhopal and back approx 6000 Km and loved driving the RX7
Final Words If milage is not of concern an excelent choice.
Areas of improvement
1) Touch screen control for GPS has to improve.
2) Bluetooth Mic quality has to improve.
3) Rear seat needs to be modified so that adults can sit comfortably.
It has an excelent look and very comfortable. very good driving comfort.Has a low milage. The touch screen GPS control is poor. Bluetooth mic is very bad.Exterior/Styles

Exterior Good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfortable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good power but poor mileage.
Ride Quality & Handling Alignment issues still not sorted.
Final Word I bought this vehicle on May 13th 2013. Next day morning I sent out the call to the sales team at NBS Mumbai. List of issues were 1)Car pulling to the left 2)Vibration on the stearing wheel at speeds of 110,120 kmph 3)Bluetooth connectivity not happening 4)Speakers not properly wired thus hampering sound quality 5)Glove box with a black mark and paint pealed off 6)Deep impression on the rear seat at the centre 7)Thud/Jerk while shifting from Reverse-Drive and vice versa in the automatic version 8)Both side door mirrors open and close at different speeds.
The vehicle has been to their Sewri workshop 6-8 times since 13th May causing me loads of Inconvenience and embarrassment.
Amongst the above mentioned points 1,5,6,7 & 8 are still pending as on date. Point nos 1,7 & 8 still remain but are termed as "acceptable"as per their service engineers and there is no mercy for the money spent by me to buy this car. Tiresome. Request all to please reconsider their decisions if not already bought the vehicle yet.

I bought this car 15 months back for the cost of around Rs 26 lakhs. I live in Coimbatore, South India. I had a technical problem once and they took time for correccting the fault 3 to 4 days.
Now my car met a very small accident. During a drive in Avinashi Road, a van hit my car back side. Due to this, back side pumper got damaged. I have given my car for pumper replacement. It is almost 10 days over. So far they have not corrected. When contacted the people at Coimbatore says the pumper has to come from South Korea. Just because of this pumper replacement, I have to wait for 15 days time.
My question is, if there is going to be major fault, how many days I have to wait, since the parts has to come from South Korea. I am really fed up with this car.

Exterior Good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Fair.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Bad, I am used over it for 1 year, but vehicle breakdown 4 times in 1 and 1/2 yr.
Mahindra service is horrible, not even fix bolts of engine in goa service center , charge you for worrenty parts also, if we contact anand mahindra he is not going to listen and block ,my friend on tweeter, I offer my vehicle as gift to him but not even give proper respons, they made my life hell, its very shamfull tey sell me testride vehicle as new, even accept it on the name of discount given, please tweet @anand mahindra about gift offer by me.
Ride Quality & Handling Not up to the mark, engine making noise.
Final Words Please never purchase this vehicle, Mahindr service is very bad, they will terrify you for their mistakes, and not respond.

Exterior Good body work and sturdy vehicle, nice styling and aerodynamics. The vehicle gives a feeling of safety/toughness.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable and luxurious vehicle, in fact it is comparable tp bmw/audi.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox A big and powerful engine though of old technology. not sure if still being in use by mercedes.engine performance is good but it is noisy. Wonder if it is normal? hope mahindra ha ve thoroughly checked and tested it.fuel economy for 184bhp is good and that too with auto transmission. gearbox appears to be sluggish but this can be overcome by using the manual feature.there are no gear change indications in the auto mode so not sure if vehicle stays in lower gear for long or not.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride quality. in fact no other suv in india matches it. handling is very easy and sturdy.
Final Words Its a steal at the price being offered now. mahindra may increase it as the vehicle gains popularity. A must buy for all SUV lovers looking for a well balanced feature rich SUV.
Areas of improvement Engine refinement and may be some more features like rear camera, distance indicators, smart key. cool box etc.

Final Words Cheap car with good things in it Mahindra Ssangyong has launched its mid-sized SUV the Rexton W in South Africa. Unveiled at the 2012 Busan Motor Show, this third-generation model of the SUV will join the Korando and Actyon Sport double cab pickup to be a part of the Indo-Korean manufacturer’s line up for the African nation.
The standard five-seater model costs 349995 Rand (Rs 22.75 lakh) while the luxury seven-seater variant will retail for 389995 Rand (Rs 25.35 lakh). Both models of the Rexton W will be on sale across all of Mahindra South Africa’s 22 dealerships.
Speaking on the launch, Ashok Thakur, CEO of Mahindra South Africa said “The addition of the Rexton W to the existing SsangYong line-up in South Africa, being the Korando C-segment SUV and the Actyon Sport double cab pickup, not only broadens our potential customer base, but also contributes to dealer viability and overall brand awareness.”
The SUV in both variants will be powered by a 2.7 litre turbo diesel engine which will churn out 162bhp and 340nm of torque. Like most Korean vehicles this SUV is also feature loaded with (Electronic Stability Program), ARP (Active Roll over Protection), UWS (Ultrasonic Warning System), Cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity and Rain-sensing wipers.
The Rexton W will be also be launched in India soon to compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero on size, but might be priced more competitively to give Ssangyong better head start. We expect this model to be made available here at the start of 2013.
