Skoda New Octavia

The new-generation Skoda Octavia takes its styling cues from the Vision RS Concept. The new Octavia is likely to be introduced in India sometime in 2020 alongside the updated Superb and the Karoq. The vehicle was spied undisguised on test, but in the estate guise. Although the camouflage has been taped over the entire bodywork, it fails to hide the newly designed grille and headlamps.

The split headlamp design has been replaced by Superb-like single-piece headlamp units. It is believed that the hardware from the more expensive Superb and Kodiaq will feature in the new 2020 Octavia. Interestingly, Skoda is celebrating the 60th anniversary for the Octavia nameplate and it is likely be introduced in the international market later this year, possibly at the Frankfurt motor show.

In terms of powertrain, the 2020 Octavia will house the same powertrain that is featured in Skoda's line-up of cars. Additionally, the iV brand version of the Octavia might also come with a proper hybrid, or at the least the 48V mild hybrid powertrain. Meanwhile, the exciting vRS model will perhaps become the fastest Skoda to date.
