Exterior Better built than any KRs.350 car in India.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) A premium car driving feeling for thr driver & his/her Partner in the front seats. Sound speaker quality is Good so is the AC.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good Pull/Pick up, fuel economy: Not yet acessed. Good Clutch & Gear syncronisation. A Dream Power Steering.

Ride Quality & Handling Lovely for the Driver, irrespective of his/her height & built. Not that good for pillion seat riders.

Final Words The most wanted Street Fun & Smart Car, irrespective of Age. You will be delighted to be a Driver of Nano Twist XT.

On a fine Holiday morning drive out of the City for 200 kms at a stretch, at a speed of 80Kmph. Take rest for a while & again start enjoying the drive & the Fun.

Areas of improvement The Luggage Door at the rear like any Hatchback. The engine sound should have a better muffler.

Good Funny City Car. In need, set out & compete with Maruti 800 on long H.Way drive.Tata should have added the 5th door at the back.

There is a structural defect where when you are turning the portion which is near the front mirror the metal joinging holding the front glass blockes your few which is the reason of possible aaccidents. ANd if you have an accident nothing is save coz of the week structure.

It is not to be used on Indian roads where there is traffic and the roads anyway are not well made and traffic also mad. It can be for some1 who has a scooter and want to keep a car outside the house to say he/she has a car. It is a toy to be kept in locker.

Not a car to be fit on roads, specially the Indian roads, Plus the service of this car is in hands of people who are least bothered about you because yyou are the least valued coustomer. The would not inform you things on time would wait for things to get spoilt and then trouble you.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

As mentioned numerous times in several reviews, the nano internal space is too good.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

       Fuel economy is unmatched.

I get 20kmpl in city with AC on for 80% of time,

and on highway I get 24 with AC on for all the time, tried with out AC for 200 KM and got 26 kmpl

      Ride Quality & Handling

I bought the nano twist for city use, but after a long drive from Hyderabad to Srisailam (around 280km with last 20km ghat roads and a couple of very steep hills to reach the temple) I decided to use it for long drives as well.

so far covered 5000 km on highways in 5 months. another 2000km for city use.

the ride quality and comfort is good and I never had to stop for the engine to cool down.

not even a single issue while on the ghat roads, nano can climb any hill if there is a road.

      Final Words

I know many people will talk about safety ratings and lack of safety features.

If you know the limits of your car and drive within them, you wont need to worry about anything.

      Areas of improvement

My wife always complains about the lack of automatic ransmission in nano, but I m glad the twist model doesnt have it since I would never be able to get the car back from my wife in such a case.

If you are holding yourself back from buying a nano because you feel others will think you are cheap, then I ask you to go for a test drive on an alto, a santro, and an eon then a nano.

I am sure you will choose the nano over all the above

      Exterior

I personally like it better than other budget cars such as Alto 800, Alto k10 and Eon.  It is what it is - a small compact car with a pretty face.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

I have been driving around Nano since August, 2014 and I have clocked almost 6000 km.  All this while whoever stepped inside the car was surprised with the interior space.  Recently I went on a drive to Lonavla from Pune and had 4 HUGE adults onboard and nobody complained about the space and comfort.

This car has all the necessary features that you'd want.  I have the Twist XT version which comes loaded with a 4 speaker stereo that can play music from a CD, flash drive and from mobile devices thru aux-in or bluetooth.  You can even answer and make calls through this system.  Sound output of the stereo is decent and you won't complain about it unless you like window-smashing loud music.

This car also has central and remote locking which makes getting in and out tad easy.  Also, it comes with fog lamps that are quite helpful in bad weather conditions.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

I look at it like this - Nano is the first rear wheel driven compact car in India.  And it's SO much fun to drive!  The engine is small but has adequate power and torque to take you around city and highways and ghats.

I get 23 kmpl on an average in city driving conditions.  With the AC on (more than 75% of the time) I get bit more than 22 kmpl.  On highway I tend to do speeds in excess of 80 kmph and the fuel consumption is the same i.e. 22 - 23 kmpl.

The gear ratios are perfect for this car.  3rd gear is quite tall and you can do 20 kmph to 60 kmph in this slot and this eliminates the need to downshift while overtaking.  4th gear works fine at speeds starting from 40 kmph to 105 kmph.

There's only one improvement to be done in this area and that is gear shifting.  Sometimes the shifter gets stuck while trying to slot in the 1st gear and the reverse gear.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Ride can be a bit hard at times.  This is due to the stiff suspension of the car but, you can't ask for a soft ride.  Nano is a tall car with generous ground clearance which moves its centre of gravity higher and these are the factors that contribute to body roll.  I guess to eliminate body roll as much as possible the suspensions have been kept stiff and that's okay for me since I can do tight turns at 60 kmph.

The Nano Twist is quitter inside than other models.  The NVH levels are pretty low and you will hear the engine noise only at slow speeds.  However, you might hear some rattling noise when you hit hard on potholes or speed breakers.  This noise comes from the window fittings under the door trim.  But, there's nothing to worry about since the car is overall well built.

The power steering is a boon I can say since I have experienced driving older versions of Nano which don’t have it.  You can steer with just one finger and it is quite precise.

      Final Words

I am in love with this car since it is one of the most practical vehicles out there.  I don’t spend much on fuel and I get to travel in luxury to some extent in all weather conditions.  It is safer than a 2 wheeler and it is pocket friendly.

Don’t ask for opinion on Nano from people who have never owned one.  Ask the real users of this vehicle about their experience and you will be surprised to know how satisfied they are.

The AMC covers maintenance up to 20000 km and it cost me only 3000 bucks!  I just need to refuel the car and drive it around without bothering about its maintenance cost.  Also, Nano has a better warranty coverage of 60000 km which is far greater than what Maruti offers on Alto.  So, think well before settling for a small car because Nano might just be a better deal for you like it has been for many other people.

      Areas of improvement

Gear shifting can be made smoother and NVH can be brought down even more.

SturdyRattling noise from the door and hard gear shifts.

its the perfect car, i have purchased it in Sep 2014, approx 2 months before writing this review. earlier i was having wagon R VXI,

I got influenced by Nano, only by once sitting in the it, it seems so spacious that i cannot explain. I had made a Noida to shimla trip, with my wife and 3 yrs baby, average speed was 85 km, Nano gave me fuel amazing fuel economy of 26.5 kmpl. further rear wheel drive gave a amazing performance, which a front wheel drive cannot give in hill areas. the drive wheels never skids at slopes (whenever you have to start from rest on a uphill) thanks to rear wheel drive. the small turning radius gives you confidence of parking your car in the smallest possible space. people gets astonished when they see the parking ability of nano in small space.

next time i had a another visit (noida to yamumanagar) this time i decided to churn max fuel economy and kept my nano at 70 km speed on highway. Nano gave me a amazing fuel economy of 30.5 kmpl (to & fro 435 kms).the average was cross checked by filling the fuel tank and the electronic reading of the Nano. both results are almost similar.

In normal traffic it gives me a average of 18-20 kmpl.

Any person who sits in my car, gets impressed by the features at a such a small cost and fuel economy. and the turning in noida, delhi traffic further adds to it.

small turning radius, fuel economy, interiors, legroom, seat heightsuspension needs improvement

      Exterior Rear  shape not satisfactory.

Ride Quality & Handling  reasonable Poor shock absorbers.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) No head support for rear seat passengers. Poor cussion seats.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Not reached the promissed mileage , poor electrical parts and wiring , many loose connectors.

Final Words Spares should be made freely available in the market.

Areas of improvement Electrical wiring, increase boot space, shifting of fuse box to clear accissible place, seperate spares shops alone should be established, dealers not selling spares alone, service cost high sideand should be reduced, not following the time of service schdule, charging the more servicecost  againest the company rules saying that this item is not mentioned in the online. They took Rs800 as labour for replacing cam shaft oil seal whear as the cost of oil seal is Rs 40 only.

Good average mileage ,cheap sparesPoor service , spares not available , low resale even at dealer on exchange

I Own a Manza( Petrol)and the wonderful choice i have made ever but suffered a lot to take it in Chennai traffice for my day to day office use :(. So i thought of taking a small car( Second hand) to tackle City traffice with decent milage. After Considering several small cars Nano was the choice i made. I bought a LX version 2012 Model for just Rs. 1 L which has 6500 KM on Meter. Wow Now after 2 Months Never touch My Manza. The best car for City trafic and never need to worry for scratches adn small accidents as the spare parts very very cheaper.

Exterior Cute doll like exterior Simple and neat. Petrol tank cover could be kept outside like other cars. Every time I need to open the bonnet. But Not a big issue.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable interior. I am 6 Ft and can comfortabley sit in the back with legs fully streached. AC is Wonderful and 1 point is enough to cool the whole Car. Seats are bit not comfortable for a 6 ft bulky Guy. My family finds it good though. I have left leg pain because of the seat. will change it sooner.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is decent. Dont expect a BMW out of it. It is just 625 CC and Manages Traffic very well. easily touches 80 KMPH without any power lag. Gears are tall. first and second gears are enought o drive in bumper to bumper trafic Second gear manages 40kmph easily.

One Tank fill(15 L) Gives me an average of 370 KM in city traffic Which is arround 24.6 KmPL in City. I dont use AC much though as i consider my car a Bike :D. With AC on always average is 18.5 KMPL. Still best in the class

Ride Quality & Handling This is the intresting part. Lot of fun. almost all the car drivers and even Auto rickshaw drivers used to scowl Me in Heavy traffic. I can zig in any traffic and come out fast. 2 Bike space is enough to park my car . Most of the time i park My car in Bike space :). Very easy to drive in city traffice. But better buy Twist Model As stearing in No power Stearing model is not soo comfortable while turining the car in traffice. But this is a negligeble issue.

Final Words I had a very bad impression on Nano till i buy it. seriously dont listen to comments who says nano is bad because they have no idea about nano. I have driven the car 4000 KM in 50 days. This is enough to say about this car. I have taken the car to pondy and returned 27 KMPL without AC. But i wont recommend long drive. No fun at all as you can go max. 100 KMPH in this car.

But for CITY drive the best car and only TATA can bring a better smaller car like this. Buy it and you wont regret it. But buy a model which is 2012 and after. I wife learned car driving in this car in just 2 hrs. I will drive this car for 1 L KM And will buy an XT model(New one ofcourse)

Areas of improvement Please TATA we need Disc breaks for this car. At speeds above 70 KMPH in rainy season breaking is pathetic. Please do something as accessory atleast.

Very food for City drive and wonderful Mileage. Spacious interiorNo Disc break. very Slippery during rainy season. Rest all rectified in Twist version.

Many wise people compare this car with replacement of 3 wheel auto. Amazing to see that why India is unable to do competation with US and European countries due to this mentality. Pick up any other car with price range starting 3+ lacs and compare all features.

Is there any car which doesn't have any cons or negative aspect? Whether all expensive cars are perfectly made?

      Points to consider:-

      1) Is there any problem if a car has a rear engine?

      2) There are many cars which produces unpleasant sound and are noisy (engine).

      3) Many cars are expensive to maintain while Nano have least maintance.

      4) Just because it is the cheapest car, it affect our super-ego? We don't want to be called
as poor. Being poor is an insult??

Why there is so many biased and negative thinking!!! I have travelled with it for around 30 thousand kms and getting around 25kmpl avarage. Apart from this I have taken this car in hilly areas of Mount Abu many times with loads (3 person and luggages). I didn't faced any problem.

Fully packed featured car at minimum priceMore space required for luggage.
