Good car, but If it come with SunRoof and Cruze control. It would be better purchase. Driven more than 10000 km. So far all good. Rest let's see for future. Acceleration is pretty good.

It's just amazing. Mind blowing performance. The engine is so refined you cam barely hear it inside. Exterior Design is just amazing g and the inside is even better. Tyres are amazing they are wide and give you a confident feel when you are driving the car. Fuel economy is also good it gives around 16-17 on highway and a bit low in city.

I got Baleno Zeta version just last week and I am willing to share the experience I had. I was a little reluctant in picking Maruti as it comes with that budget brand tag, but do not at all regret my decision of buying the beauty from Maruti. Nexa showrooms are unlike the old Maruti showrooms. You receive a warm welcome. Now about the car...getting mileage around 20 average, comfort is great...specially liked the armrest for driver and co-passenger. If you have a budget of around 7.5 lakh, this is the best hatchback to go for.

Servicing and maintenance,is excellent, easy service point across the map of India, my car has completed almost 48000 km and still no problems l. We generally used to have timely service on the advice of service advisors of franchisee. I used to have regular up and down from January to jodhpur with the non stop coverage of km and 20 kmpl, on ac in petrol version

Exterior Like all baleno, there is nothing much to differentiate expect for the sporty looking fron mesh grill and the slightly re-designed rear bumper with side skirts which  tries to add some charcter to the car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) It comes with all bells and whistles which one would expect from a baleno alpha trim. Rear space is pretty awesome and enough for 3 average sized adults for medium to short time journeys.  The provided infotainment system does a decent job but the GPS GUI has lot to be desired for as its pretty non-intuitive and could be sometimes daunting to use while searching for destination. They could have made is more like any andriod google maps. Visiblity is great overall but the A-pillar could be an hinderance while taking corners. The provided AC is excellent and chills the cabin in a commendable time and ensures you won't miss the rear AC vents which are now being a standard fitment in most other car brands.

I am overall very happy with this purchase!

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Here is where this car shines and is one of the influencing point in my purchase decision. The boosterjet is basically an alto K10 engine with a turbocharger (hence K10C) which is an imported unit. It produce close to 100BHP and 150NM of torque and is free revving unit. Due to a 3-cylinder setup, it can be pretty vocal at higher rpms and the noise tends to seeping into the cabin. There is almost no turbo lags and the punch begins from close to 1200rpm. As for any turbo petrol unit being gentle on the throttle, the car rewards you with excellent milage, I was able to pull up the acclaimed 21kmpl in highway runs while in city you could except close to 14 with bumper to bumper traffic. With the provided power band and the excellent gear box overtaking on any gear is hassle free. The is power avaialable on all of the gears. The third gear is the most useful one which as better balance of power. Gearbox could be little notchy at first use but it would ease up as you continue to use it. It has a shorter throw and is very nicely mated to the engine. Power is spread very nicely and present in all of the gears.  For heavy footers, please be prepare to see single digit milage as any turbo petrol, it can guzzle up a lot.

If you are looking for true blue hot hatch, you should be looking elsewhere (Volkswagon or Fiat), but if you want a better car with an amazing engine from Maruti's stable this one should your pick in hatchbacks.

Ride Quality & Handling The cabin remains quite in most of the times, since the suspension is tuned a bit more harder one could feel the bumps and potholes little more than normal balenos. But on the other side suspension setups does a very decent job and there is almost no body rolls nor the rear side waviness that one can feel with balenos in general especially when driving with no passengers.

The steering feels very light but wieghs up nicely at higher speeds, but its almost lifeless and almost doesn't self center which is a hit or miss affair, I personally liked honda's steering which does give quite a lot of feedback in comparision.

Final Words In the given price bracket its the only car which ticked all the boxes in my list:

      - Spacecious interior.

      - Comfortable riding and able to carry 5.

      - Turbo charged motor which is docile in city speeds but becomes a beast when demanded.

      - Wide service network.

      Areas of improvement

      - Cabin insulation could have been little better.

      - The infotainment could have been made to resemble more like an andriod phone espcially the map app is clunky and could be little daunting to use.

      - Steering, its a drawback, they could have made it more communicating one and a tad more self centering ablity.

Space, comfort and power on tap.Suspension is on the harder side which is good as well bad. Overall build quality is average.

      1. Not really great, had some confusions regarding the payments and all, but it was sorted out. I bought car from thrissur, I think it took some time and effort by Nexa to find such a connected and limited space to setup their office. I didn't felt anything premium in terms of experience.

      2. Riding is better than many cars. It has good low and high speed ride quality. Btw, this car can't match the high-speed ride of old punto or low speed ride of say - vista. It's a tasteful blend. I had long drives and came out without getting tired and joints free from aches. My old Zen has failed to do this everytime. You get a comfortable seating position, view, and ergonomics are to my preference. Which helps it further.

      3. I don't like - " look at me" kind of exterior, rather understated looks are fine for me. And Baleno is just good at that. Only bad thing they did was putting RS tag to it, this brings unnecessary comparisons. Could've been boosterjet instead. Having said that, this car is tailor made for my preference. What I was looking for was a practical, spacious, reliable petrol car with a better performance compared to the mass segment cars. Cars that were shortlisted are - Polo GT, Jazz,i20, here Jazz- Didn't like the shape, feel of mini Innova still in my head. But that is a great thing if you want more space inside. Interiors were not to my liking, but deal breaker was the meek 1.2L engine. There was a good chance Iam buying jazz if that 116bhp free revving motor was on offer with 10 lakhs on road price. Polo GT Flip the jazz perspective, you get this car. plenty of power and an effortless DSG combo is great for driving. But really limited space, and exterior looks are within my taste. Deal breaker here was the notorious DQ200 transmission they carried forward, I know it's an expensive transmission to begin with, and I was not particularly looking for a Automatic at that moment. And I can't afford either the crazy repair charges or arrogance of VW people out there in show rooms. Here they lost the opportunity to launch a manual version with this engine. The on road price couldve been 1 lakh less! Certainly I wouldve thought about it and maybe I would trade the space inside for that. Maybe! i20 In short - everything was in favour of i20, even though it lacks the agility and handling of baleno, riding experience is very nice but 1.2 L engine is extremely smooth and silent at idle and Normal running, but it is such a dull car, I can't think of it, after switching from a Zen. That's how I landed on Baleno RS. Every requirements were met. Earlier priced at 10.20lakhs, and thanks to GST the car got a price cut of around 60k and I bought it! It's faster and very easy to drive also returns a respectable fuel efficiency too. Comes with all around disc, and braking is very good. Additionally the turbo charger gives the option of doing a remap, when I feel the power is not enough, in the near future.

      4. Its maruti and it is not questionable like ever.

      5. Cons are - lack of better tyres, light build quality. Iam not a auto designer to comment the structure of this car. But, sheet metal thickness is relatively less, and prone to dents, inn the future. #2,and #3 talks about pros, there are many more. But that's not a big deal for someone who reads this. Consider them as a bonus!

Baleno RS is a hot hatch with good amount of practicality. It has a 1 L boosterjet engine with an output of 105 BHP and 145 nm of torque which are good figures. The car is good looking and an eye catcher. The sheet metal is a lil thin and prone to minor dents. The interior of the car is good with ample of space and legroom.

Feature list is top notch. Performance of the car is good with 0-100 in 10.5 seconds. Ride quality is superb on good roads. Potholes and bumps feel inside the car at low speeds, though not very bad. The car feels stable till 120 kph and you tend to lose confidence as you accelerate higher that that. The mileage is 13-14 kmpl in the city when driven properly. Enthusiastic driving returns around 12kmpl in the city. Mileage on the highway is around 18kmpl which is fine for a petrol hot hatch.

The tyres are Apollo Alnac 4G which provide fair amount of road grip and also supports occasional super fast speeds. Steering is light and good for the city but feels a lil lifeless on the highway runs. The interior plastic quality could’ve been little better as well as the low speed ride quality. Overall it’s a very good car with good reliability and extremely low maintenance.
