German luxury car manufacturer Audi has revealed the e-tron ahead of its official unveiling on 12 July. The first electric car from Audi is due for India launch in November. Post-launch, the Audi e-tron will compete against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQC and the Jaguar i-Pace. Here below you can view the distinctive highlights of the Audi e-tron –
Audi e-tron is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform. In terms of size it sits between the Audi Q5 and Q7.
The e-tron gets a wide silver-finish grille and dynamic flaps for aero-efficiency. The vehicle gets an angular bumper with distinctive triangular inserts.
The Audi e-tron gets sharply cut LED headlamps.
The side-profile gets a traditional Audi design language with neatly cut wheel arches. The electric SUV sits on large 20-inch grey wheels.
The traditional rearview mirrors have been replaced with side-mounted cameras.
The e-tron gets a charging socket on the front left fender and claims to offer a driving range of 400kms on a single charge according to WLTP cycle.
The vehicle gets 432 cells in 36 modules which are packed together on the floor of the vehicle and have a combined weight of 699kgs with a power capacity of 95kWh.
The rear section gets sleek aero-tweaked LED taillamps which are interconnected by an LED light strip that runs across the tailgate.
The e-tron on display has an all-black interior with premium leather upholstery.
The dashboard looks sharp and wide with large horizontal slat AC vents.
The centre console with its twin haptic screen set-up is inclined towards the driver for comfortable viewing angle. The system will also debut Audi's MMI2 interface for India.
The seats are electrically adjustable and offer adequate lumbar and thigh support.
The e-tron gets a large boot space of 660-litres with some storage space under the front bonnet as well. With the rear seats folded, you get up to 1,725-litres.
The vehicle gets four-zone climate control, 360-degree cameras, a panoramic sunroof and more.
