Porsche managed to sell 154 cars in India in the first quarter of 2021 and its profit dramatically soared by 52 percent. With this level of success, the brand is preparing to launch its new cars one after another here. The new 2021 Macan is one of them as this recently updated SUV has been listed on the Porsche India website. And it is expected to arrive in the country soon.
The car is still in its first generation and Porsche has updated the Macan for the second time. It gets redesigned front and rear bumpers while there are also new all-LED headlights. Besides, the carmaker will also launch a top-of-the-line GTS trim of the Macan here which comes with a different set of bumpers. Depending on the variant, the SUV will be offered with a wide range of alloy wheels with sizes ranging from 19 to 21-inches.
Inside, the typical Porsche cabin has been remade with a Panamera and Cayenne derived dashboard and steering wheel design. Physical switches on the centre console have been replaced with capacitive touch switches. In addition to that, the cabin also has two digital displays in the instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen unit and a 10-speaker, 150-watt sound system.
More importantly, Porsche has upgraded the Macan's engine. Hence now, they generate more power and torque than their previous versions. The Standard Macan has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine making 261bhp and 400Nm while the S trim now gets a 2.9-litre twin-turbo producing 375bhp and 520Nm. And the high-end GTS retains the same motor but now generates 434bhp and 550Nm from the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6.
