THis car is a head turner, I own a Cedia Select Pearl White (with auto LPG), I have driven just 400 kms till now and I can only tell on the looks and engine performance. Its a very responsive engine and the car is always in great control, one has all the kinda features in aevery verion of cedia. There is so much of space in the car, its a great comfort to sit in it and the drive is so soundless and smooth, great suspension.Very low turning radius.

I am waiting to see the fuel economy on the LPG mode and petrol mode , by end of this month I guess I would have got done my first servicing and then I would write about that too.

BUT AS OF NOW ITS AN AWESOME CAR, Features of CIVIC ( just below Civic on looks only) at a price 4 laks less !~!

MITSUBISHI & HM wish u guys read these posts , U could easily have a bestseller in your profile !~!

Very High ON Looks , Very responsive Engine , Excellent space, Very easy to manouver , Grt featuresBad Marketing BY HM and Mitsubishi and Rear Looks could have been even better

Mitsubishi name reminds you of WRC and Dakkar rally. But mitsubishi cars especially in India havent found good following lately due to bad marketting strategy by Hindustan motors, their Indian subsidiary. My first car was the good old lancer SFX.A beautiful yellow beast.Though people say that lancer is underpowered, there is nothing to beat it's handling, ergonomics and smooth and flat torque curve which gives predicatble and uniform acceleration throughout the rev range. But the engine lacked grunt.
Now coming to Cedia.Cedia stands for Century diamond as per mitsubishi terminology. When i choose a car my priorities are 1)Power 2)Handling 3)Ergonomics 4)Ride quality 5)Build to last quality 6)Value for moolah 7)Decent fuel efficiency  .In short i want a car i can rip through corners without losing stability, should be easy to control and should give that special feeling of  adrenalin rush .I test drove all cars from honda city vtec, verna, swift diesel, optra magnum.Let me be honest, none of these cars could satisfy most of my criteria.Honda city vtec had a good engine but felt like a tin box on wheels.I tried taking a turn at high speed and it lost it's composure. It's plus was good interior and rev happy engine. But i am sure this new honda city vtec couldnt hold a candle to it's older brother.Verna was a good car but handling was worst of the cars i test drove. What use is power which cannot be handled. But the car has a bomb of an engine underneath it's hood. But this engine did not feel refined after 3000 RPM.Steering felt almost dead. The optra magnum had a lot of plus going for it and is a logical choice. It has the best power and amazing comfort. If my criteria was power, refinement and comfort this was the car to go for.But i like to drive my car and dont like to give it to a chauffer. So i would prefer a car i can play with.Optra handled like a boat.I took a test drive over a bridge and on landing it's body rose up from the chasis like a ship in turbulent waters.Optra handling is average.

You might be curious about what's next. One of my friends called up  mitsubishi showroom and there comes a Cedia sport for the test drive.I was initially not that keen. The car was a yellow cedia sport. With black hood,mitsubishi.co.in marked on the skirting.I looked around the car.It had alloy wheels, skirting.spoiler, sporty bumpers whoa all this in a standard car.I opened the doors. The doors are heavy and built to last like all lancers. The seats are beautiful.Black leather with silver inserts.I really wanna sink into that seat and pretend to be a wrc driver. The dash in cedia sport looks better than cedia select.I hate fake wood and this one had carbon fibre finish running from one end of dash to another. The air conditioner is an ordinary no frills one and doesnt have climatic control. But cooling is very good. The gear knob and steering were well placed and it cocooned around you.I started the engine and it gave a beautiful exhaust note as i revved it till the red line.I just wanted to blast the car to see how it fared.I slotted into first and revved the accelerator and dumped the clutch. The car just took off like a wild cat taking a run at it's prey. The road was it's prey!I shifted the gears touching redline each time.Man it had that special feeling that  was evading me.This was the car.I rippped the car through traffic. The car is very spacious on the inside though slightly lesser than corolla. But handling was spectacular. It felt that i knew this beast for a long time.It was behaving exactly according to my inputs. This is what i call human engineering, it's like the user interface of a nokia phone, should i say more?I took turns at break neck speeds.Took it to bad roads. The ride is a little stiff compared to magnum. But cedia did not scrape a few speed breakers which magnum did.The road visibilty is higher due to higher seating postion ,lower dashboard and more glass area.It is nimble and easier to control than a small car.Turning radius was also good.We stopped the car and the test drive guy showed me some more features like access to the boot space from inside etc.The car had everything you ever wanted except sun film.At a price of less than 10 lakhs on the road after discounts. This is more Value for money than a honda city vtec. The features are
      1)Skirt
      2)Spoiler
      3)Alloys
      4)Blackened head lamps
5)Stanley leather seats and a sporty kind unlike the usual old man  kinda leather seats most cars provide
      6)ABS and EBD
      7)Airbags
8)Stronger frame cos i have seen hondas met with accident and cedias. The cedias and lancers have huge beams going throught the doors.I call them the rally genes.
If you want a hot looker and a scorching performer cum entertainer cum family car which would last forever this is the car to go for.Beleive me you will contact me and congratulate me for suggesting you this car.I work as software engineer with juniper networks .Have i bought the car? No.Waiting for adequate cash for the downpayment. Please help me guys
Drop dead looks,Sporty interiors,Good handling, braking and comfortFuel efficiency is lower compared to a honda

I own a manchester red cedia sports which has just done about 6K kms. I must say its been a completely addictive driving experience so far. Its smooth, silent and handles beatifully whatever the road conditions. Have taken it on two long drives so far and its been a treat driving it on the highways. It also takes to Bangalores city roads pretty well with her low turning radius of 4.9 m and good fuel efficiency of about 9-10kmpl(highways about 11-14kmpl) is pretty economical as well for a car this size.
All in all its been a great buy even though I did hesitate initially due to the lack of car the selling in volumes and the supposedly low resale value but in hindsight I am glad I didnt pay the additional 3.5 lakhs for the civic :)
Great looks, Superb handling and brakes, Fuel efficiencyNothing major except maybe low seats

I would really like to thank this forum and the reviews for making me a proud owner of the awesome Mitubishi Cedia. The story started when I was looking for a second car to the Scorpio that is most of the time driver driven. There were various factors that I was considering including price(cheaper) size(smaller) drivability (me driving),... etc, so in the category of new the chase was with the smaller cars, ... swift, i20, which were in the 5.5-6.5lk range,... now that I was settled on the price bracket, I started looking at the second hand market also,..... fiestas, city, verna... so to cut a long story short when my broker called saying that there was a white (not my colour) Mitsubishi Cedia (brrr, expensive, never heard of), my first reaction was 'no'...... then came the price, my ears perked, so I told him that I will get back,.... so I checked for online user reviews, and I was really surprised to find that there wasnt a single legit negative remark except that its from HM, so I test drove the next day. 5 minutes and I was sold. Here I was a proud owner of a 5 month 5000km Cedia at 6.5lk, its been three months and I am zooming at the smallest chance and who cares if its white and big (love it). After the purchase I have replaced the older owners ugly faux leather to Stanley light beige and tan leather, upgraded the music system and changed the stock alloys to shinier chrome ones and new Michelin tyres. Now the car feels as plush as any of the high-end boys. It has been to Maya motors in chennai for a change of head lamps(95-100W) and horn(hella for the highway), and they were very helpful, prompt and reasonable. Now the factor of drivability, its probably the best car that I have driven in its class including the new ones out now, torque is very good and power opens at 3000rpm and lasts well into 5000rpm, braking is excellent. I am having a little difficulty with the shifting lower gears as slower speeds, but its only a minor irritant. Overall features, fit & finish is no nonsense and excellent at par with most of the upper segment cars. This week I am putting in a K&N filter, which should boost the performance. Overall I am a happy man on the road and thanks to you guys for making it happen. On a passing note, I know that the car has been detuned for Indian conditions. Do any of you know where I can get a kit to get it to the original tuning, I believe the power can go upto 150bhp+..... anyone in the south who can help...... Thanks again and happy drivingExcellent buy, drive comfort, powerful engine, handling, braking, safety, luxurycant think of much,... only the plane jane look of my white cedia on the outside...

very good car in terms of all but lacks only engine power which should be at least 140 BHP with 195NM with max speed 210kmph, because of engine is 2.0L. the car is very smooth in city and highway. in city it is giving 11kmpl and on highway it gives14kmpl with AC on. engine performance is very good and reaches at 100 with in 10 Sec. at a speed of 160kmph the vehicle is very stable and under control. the stability on road is very good. the lack of rear seat adjustable headrest and rear ac vent. as it should be. the inside of vehicle is silent only road sound comes inside at high speed. turning radius is very good and can take turn up on short also. at a speed of 160, the vehicle is noiseless and runs boldly, no any tension to engine. road bumps does not affect the performance and comfortability. very good car at this price. the rear seat is comfortable but it not has not good leg support. it's rear seat should be inclined type for better comfortability. the engine is very good and reaches 90kmph in 2nd gear. from steady to move it runs very smoothly and agrresive. it's marketing is very poor. mitsubishi should market it independently, as Dealer Austin Distributor, Kolkata is not very good in deal.Fuel Economy, Performance, Comfortable and safetyRear Ac Vent, Rear Headrest, Reading Lamp, wood finish

Exterior Looks are a  stunner especially when I bought this red sports beauty in early 2007.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Plush leather seats, well crafted dash board, carbon fiber strip on dash board, comfy seats and good visibility allround.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine for 115bhp is a thrill to drive. Though you cannot compare it to the Laura Rally sport or the Audis or the BMWs..it is still fun to drive, decent pickup and just enough power in the city to lead the pack in traffic or effortless overtaking on highways. I have touch 185 kmph and clocked around 10.5 seconds from 0 to 100 kmph staright out drag!

Ride Quality & Handling Steering feel and suspension is a real pleasure, handles the corners and zig zag driving in city very well. It is an all India rally champion for so many years in its  category so that should speak enough!

Final Words Hmmm... I am finally selling it after nearly 5 years and 65000 kms of trouble free driving as I want a diesel automatic...moving to Skoda Lura L & K...I am feeling real bad to let go of this beutiful well crafted everyday practical car from the Japanese stables.

Areas of improvement Mitsubishi screwedup big time in India by tieing up with HM. They deserve a much bigger marketshare then the present for the quality and performance oriented cars they make.

This car is absolutely brilliant to drive. Very comfortable and the interiors are just perfect and easy to use. But I have a problem with the headlights of the Car. I drive a lot between Pune and Mumbai even though driving is an absolute pleasure still at night visibility can be a problem. The car is just perfect on mileage, comfort and driving it can be compared to having a pint of beer sitting in the cosy comforts of your living room. If you plan to buy one go for it, but I suggest you go for a test drive on the Highway where you can in reality test the headlights of the car. Yes and if there is solution to my headlight problem please do let me know because I love this machine.
Good Fuel EconomyThere is some problem with the headlights of the car, night driving can be a pain.

Purchased a Cedia sports in 2008. Car is running great and no issues at all. Was cosidering to buy a Honda or SX4, but after the test drive immediately decided to buy the Cedia. So far I haven't faced any issues with respect to the performace or feul ecomony. It's a very robust car. There is very good leg room in the passenger area.  Fuel efficiency is a bit low, but given the other factors thats a trade a off one has to live with.

One issue I see is the spare parts and frustrating responses from HM and the service stations. I had met with a minor accident more than 6 months ago and the passenger side mirror was damaged. It's been more than 6 months I have been chasing HM and the dealers for a replacement, but haven't got any yet. Though I love this car, but not getting a small spare like a mirror does scare me a lot. Not sure what HM's policy is to keep spares. They have been blaming the Tsunami in Japan for the lack for spare parts. Come on HM I'm sure Japan is well on it's feet now and running.

Excellent ride, comfort and handlingSpare parts, HM after sales service sucks

After disposing off my 7 Years old companion -Accent Tornado, i was looking for more luxurious and powerful yet affordable upgrade. Took TD for Magnum Optra, Honda Civic, City, SX4, Ford Fiesta and Cedia.Fiat Linea failed to show up in spite of several reminders. Volkswagen Jetta had no showroom here. Next in waiting was Toyota Altis. but they too responded lethargically. So i decided for  Mistubhishi Cedia Spirit. Done around 9000 Kms after getting delivery on 6th April, 2009. Good car fully loaded with stylist royal interiors and great double Din Kenwood  LCD player with built in Navigation system with USB attachment

and rich blend of leather and appealing dash-board !! approachable Boot from the back seat ! Below 10 sec  ! from 0 - 100 Km !  has both ABS &EBS, ACC, smooth ride !  15" tubeless with alloys with all 4 wheel Disc Brakes, strong suspensions for Indian conditions,  Front Airbags, small turning radius for this lengthy car, good torque but for  2000 cc, 115 BHP is too Low !  Atleast 130 to 150 BHP  was expected from this car . At higher speed engine strains.  No Turbo charge ! No Resale value, i suppose ! The company seems to have slept with this beauty  in prolonged Hibernation !!! Not extinct or endengered species but appears to be a rare species on Indian roads !! Recently,  i was on a 14 days road trip to Goa via Mysore-Kushalnagar-madikeri-Shimoga-Sagar, Jog Falls-Karwar-Goa-Bangaluru-Hogenakkal Falls-Madurai covering 2960 kms and i didn’t spot any Cedia on NH or SH during this duration. It is thirsty on fuel with a mileage range of 9.5-12 kms/L.
It is a "Piece of Art" and a Head turner! Its lovely, smooth, well behaved, long and royal but with a deficit of Marketing! Marketing is Dead ! ...dead and non-Resurrect-able !!
TGDC from Mistubhishi  was a great explosive  thriller but ended a damp squib as the Lucky winner was never announced for the Singapore trip !

Looks, Royal interiors, style, 4Din touch screen Kenwod with Navigation, Brakes,Mileage, Average Speakers , low BHP for 2000 CC

      Hi guys,

I bought this BEAST in Sept 06 after coming back from UK for good and was my PRIDE & RIDE till July 09. Unfortunately, had to let go of it when i came to US, coz my stay could have been for more than 1 year.

It is really the best piece of art as mentioned earlier in the reviews and there can not be a second thought of not buying it again. I just came back from States and you can just imagine by the fact that have already booked same car, same color.

I had the honor of riding the RED COLOR CEDIA SPORTS for over 84k kms, that too under 3 years and believe me the after sales and service thingi which every consumer think about has never ever been a problemmm. Fuel efficiency never went down below 10 and on an average was between 11 - 12 depending on road conditions. Delhi to Bombay NH8 got little less than 13.

If you really want to know Mitsubishi and Volkswagen their engine never give any problem till 300,000kms easily.

Mits. has really done amazing work with the new interior and exterior look which has directly moved this beast to upper level... The only thing which would have been the choco toppings on an mouth watering ice cream is 130 bhp instead of 115...

I never had any problem in past 3 years in riding this BEAST and trust me its a BEAST... If you have guts of driving this beast no matter where you are driving this beast will outshine every other carhim And just to let you all know it goes from 0-155 km/hr in less than 1km. And the top speed i have driven upto is 245 km/hr with 250-255 km/hr on a slope. Now thats why I call it BEAST my PRIDE & RIDE. around

Areas of improvement: Just a bit more from the 2.0 ltr engine. 130 would have been perfect.

Looks, Speed, Fuel Efficiency, InteriorJust a little more power frm 2,0 ltr
