MG Hector [2021-2023] User Reviews

After test riding about 8 SUVs in its segment, we finally booked MG Hector Sharp Petrol CVT in Red and Black.The waiting time given to us was about 2-3 months, however we got the delivery in just 1.2months. We sold our 5 years old Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 Sports, and never felt a downgrade.Infact, our Mercedes-Benz CLA lacked smart features that this car comes with.The reclining seats are as comfortable as new Mercedes-Benz E Class. We found little no lag at all on the infotainment touch screen. We don't use the built-in Gaana app as we are habitual to use Apple CarPlay and Spotify. The Map my India NAV surprised us a lot as it gave camera and speed warning alerts.This is very important for us when driving in Delhi.Until now we had to use third party apps for the same. Chilled AC even in the city like Delhi 45C* plus heat, the AC works a fab.Infact, we had to turn down AC and Fan speed to manual to avoid shivering. I would say, the pilot seat height adjustment goes a long way, and gives the feeling of driving a SUB 2 segments above.champagine and black accent tone interiors look very luxurious and spacious.That's one of the reasons we chose MG Hector over others. Infinity Sound, no words can do justice until you hear for yourself.Coolest feature is to scan the vehicle from any place and see if everything is normal. Often times I feel anxious if I locked the car proper when in the mall. Its such a stress and anxiety reliever.This car definitely has an undisputed road presence, and with our red and black color theme compliemented with 9H Ceramic coating, the car stands out and gives head turn at every corner. But voice commands are unrecognized many times, even though we have list of all 99+ commands printed on a paper for ready reference.It's very frustrating to be honest as we are habitual to use Alexa at home with AI. However, since we use CarPlay voice commands, so some relief here.No physical owner's manual or service booklet: Everything given over the My MG app. A physical handbook or manual should have been given. I don't know if iSmart app shows true average economy, but even trying my best, I can barely reach 8.5 or 9 at the most. If I drive casually then I get 5-6.Camera quality though acceptable, I would say the camera picture quality feels grainy due to such big screen.Absence of physical AC buttons is a big miss. Specially when the voice commands are very unreliable.

Crossed driving 20K KM, the mileage is 7-8KM/L. Look wise it is good and on paper it is techy but actually has fundamental functions. 1. Does not display much of the required driving information on the MID 2. Phone and Navigation options in MID look dummy. They don't work with Android Auto or Apple Car Play. 3. Some of the desired pieces of information are available on the app which should have been available in the car as well such as fuel consumption. 4. If you are taking a phone call via Bluetooth or Android Auto or Apple Car Play, you won't be able to adjust the AC settings. 5. The infotainment screen is huge but it has not been made use of. I feel if designed properly, it could be used to display driving-related relevant information just like other cars I bought this car for performance and technology which on paper it has both but in reality and practicality, it is below substandard than the others in the same segment.

Look is okay but driving is horrible very fast heating and clutch problem I had been drive 200 km and vehicle got heating and sound I was fear and stop the car wast of money better to buy some other cars not a good car for family don't buy 5 seater but to heavy in city heating issue car no good service

I have purchased mg hector last year, I have face serious problem in gear shifting 3 times in a year. MG customer care and staff have not supported in this issue and charged price of clutch plates. The fault is due to manufacturing defect and they are trying to resolve internally but failed. And charging from customer.

Buying experience of MG was great in Lucknow, thankfully most of the staff cooperated in all sense to make buy journey easy. This car is not for driving enthusiasts, it has lots of body roll. Poor mileage if driven rashly you will loose confidence at speed above 150 kmph. This car is more about comfort and long journey. Excellent suspension, long wheelbase, and comfortable driving position, comfortable back seat for long journey and lots of space. Cvt performance is great and better than DCT version because of quick responses from transmission. You never feel out power at any speed. Car looks very premium and up market. It is definitely eye catching on road. Sound system is far better than creta and seltos. Huge cabin space gives you space for extra person in short journey. Accessories are cheap and quality is great if you get it from MG showroom. Service cost is not high if you purchase MG shield. Finally let's come to 5 major pros and cons Pros 1. Comfortable ride 2. Space 3. 360 degree camera. (Trust me it is important at tight spaces) 4. Low Service cost 5. Turbo performance Cons 1. Bad mileage 2. Body roll 3. Less Service stations 4. Profile of tyres 5. More of MPV looks than SUV.

Amazing car with amazing boxy design with style moreover space management is cherry on the top, fit and finish , paint quality, body shell all are great in this price, Fuel efficiency of petrol manual is 8-10 in city and 12-13 on highways, that is decent in such a big car, But the power is good to cruze and feeling of safety is great, little body roll above 140km/h turns, but who do that. Customer grievances gets faster resolution, which is the Best point of every Good company.

I have 2 years experience. I really liked this car. This car is very useful for all with all types of logos. Car is doing very important work even in budget and for particular business organization.

Very Good Looking car with premium features .This review is for sharp petrol automatic model 1. The service executive is very supportive and made the buying process very smoothly . Bought the car at ram 4 wheelers kondapur. 2. Drove the car DCT model for 2000 kms . Driving became easy without any tiredness. 3.Amazing external look with excellent entertainment system ,leather seats, voice command . Car build quality also good compare to other cars in this segment. Performance also nice how ever we should compulsory switch to sport mode when we try to overtake on highways 4. Superb car, very luxury and comfortable. But giving less mileage. We can use this car only comfort and luxury. Looks very big and more spacious. Using boot space one person can sleep comfortably. So big boot space and so nice features.
