MG Gloster

I had one of the worst service experiences with Nangia Cars (MG Nagpur) regarding my MG Gloster. After a routine service, my car started showing serious issues, including coolant leakage and unusual engine noise. Instead of taking responsibility, the service centre kept delaying the diagnosis and failed to provide any clear explanation or documentation, even after repeated requests. Initially, they assured that the issue would be handled with minimal or shared cost, but later, they completely changed their stance and tried to put the entire financial burden on me. This kind of unprofessional and misleading behaviour is unacceptable. What’s even more frustrating is the lack of communication — calls are ignored, updates are unclear, and there is zero transparency in their process. A premium car like the MG Gloster deserves a professional service experience, but this dealership fails badly on that front. Strong warning to all MG customers: Please be extremely cautious while dealing with this service centre. Ensure everything is documented in writing before approving any work. I expected much better from MG, but this experience has completely broken my trust.

I purchased the MG Gloster Blackstorm variant about 1.5 years ago after carefully comparing it with the Toyota Fortuner. The Fortuner felt mechanically solid but did not feel very exciting or feature-loaded, whereas the Gloster appeared more premium and value-for-money on paper. Based on features, comfort, and showroom experience, we shortlisted and bought the Gloster. Unfortunately, the ownership experience has been very poor. The biggest issue is the engine and overall performance. The engine does not feel suitable for a vehicle of this size and weight. There is frequent lag and underperformance, especially when the car is loaded or driven in hilly areas. During a trip to Himachal Pradesh, the car struggled on inclines and did not inspire confidence at all. A very serious incident occurred on a normal hill road in Himachal Pradesh. After a hairpin bend, the car suddenly stalled, showed multiple error warnings, and completely refused to move. This was not an off-road situation. We contacted roadside assistance and were told we would get a call back within five minutes, but no response came for nearly 45 minutes to an hour. The car eventually restarted on its own, but by then we had lost all confidence in the vehicle. After this incident, we stopped taking the car on long or important trips. A few days later, the car failed to start at home. At the service centre, we were informed that the battery was faulty, which is unacceptable for a car that is only 1.5 years old. Even then, the battery was not replaced and was only charged. After another two weeks, an alternator issue was diagnosed. We were promised a replacement within 10 days, but even after more than 20 days, nothing has been resolved. The car has been largely unusable during this period, with poor communication and follow-up from the service team. In terms of comfort and interior experience, the car looks premium but the controls and overall usability are not intuitive. Despite being a large SUV, it does not feel confidence-inspiring to drive, especially after repeated reliability issues. Pros: Good road presence Feature-rich on paper Spacious cabin Cons: Underpowered and laggy engine Poor reliability Electrical issues Very disappointing after-sales service Low confidence for long-distance or hill travel Overall, the MG Gloster may look impressive in the showroom and on the spec sheet, but in real-world ownership, it has been stressful and unreliable. For a vehicle in this segment, long-term reliability and dependable service matter more than features, and this is where the Gloster has seriously let us down.

Bought a MG Gloster 4X4 in Sept. 2025, Serious issues started within 2 months. Car has failed to start 15-20 times and stays more at the service centre than with me. MG does not respond and clearly does not want to resolve the issue. Very disappointing experience from a so called" Premium brand". My parents were stranded on the highway at night with my younger sister, and even after such a serious safety incident, MG has not responded. The service centres fail to resolve the issue, and the car is still stuck at the service centre right now. l've emailed MG multiple times and even contacted the MG Service Head for NCR, yet no response or resolution. They simply ignore customers,The real issue is MG makes defective cars and then refuses to respond.
