A Proper SUV I should say. The resemblance to Innova in a car costing 20L is a bit of worry but makes up with go anywhere credentials. The ride is not exactly comfy( big potholes does filter into the cabin) the vibrations from engine are felt through the gear levers. The quality of materials is great, the perfomance is adequate.
In  looks department there may be differences of opinion but I find it ok. My family when saw the interiors said its like an innova and I had a difficult time convincing them that this car is different. To the non technical person an AWD and Two Wheel Drive are all  the same. The fit and finish is upto Toyota standards, but the equipment levels offered for this price looks ordinary, at least they could have given rear disc brakes,EBD, Traction Control andpowered seats for the driver.
.The long and uncertain waiting period for delivery is a turnoff for many who wants a car immediately.Butch design, Comfort, 7 seater, toyota reliability and Service, Powerful Diesel Engine, AWDInteriors remind me of Innova,Engine noise,Vibrations,Ride, not exactly cheap, long waiting list

Exterior Awsome cant get a better looking car than this at 25 lacs the in  line is at 60 lacs plus which is too expensive.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very very bad . not at all good quality.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Awsome very powerful and good mileage . feel good while driving it.

Ride Quality & Handling For the driver its the best. For the rest too many vibrations. If u are 6 f plus then u have to watch your head.

Final Words Its a car for the young and sporty people who are travelers to mumbai and goa and mahabaleshwar. for business men and people who want to use it as a family car innova is way too much better and more value for money.

Areas of improvement Interiors and vibrations. I think these need to be improved. Also please the music system. They are not very expensive these days.

Excellent looks . its a typical boy toy and its like a dream SUV to have in indiaInteriors are very shabbby . system is outdated has no connection to ipod or pendrive

      Exterior Very good looks. Imposing.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfortable seating and space. Good seats though lumbar support missing. Finishing not as good as the Innova.  Looks a bit cheap. Music System very tacky. FM radio has very poor quality reception.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Strong Engine. Fuel Economy – city driving (Bangalore) 7-8 kmpl, highway 11 kmpl.

Ride Quality & Handling excellent ride quality and handling. Though steering mechanism is very delicate. Goes off alignment even on small potholes. Facing this problem from the 2nd day onwards. Dealer not able to provide convincing explanation.

Final Words Excellent vehicle, though Steering wheel goes off alignment even when the vehicle encounters small pot-holes within the city. My car started giving problems from the 2nd day of use. Have taken it back to the service centre thrice till date. Ravindu engineers warned me not to drive the vehicle on bad roads.  Our Three year old i10 performs much better on bad roads. No problem till date, and we really drive it rough. So now when we have to drive on bad roads, we take the i10, and only use the Fortuner on good roads. I have written several times directly to Toyota, and they keep on bouncing me back to the dealer. Finally gave up.

We made the mistake of buying the car from Ravindu Toyota (Bangalore).  Bad service. They are clueless. And are unable to replace faulty accessories even though they are supposed to be OEM.

Areas of improvement Better customer service handling. Improve on interiors, especially the music system.

Strong engine, good looksdelicate steering mechanism. tacky music system

Oh, how I waited for this car and disappointed for lack of features I thought would be in there. I compare this with Honda CR-V which offers almost every option under the sun sans third row seating. But no automatic transmission and no DVD player kind of puts me off. I know we can install a DVD player as an after thought but beware, in that case the audio controls on your steering wheel will not work !!! And finally, for luxury, how about providing sunroof and say a GPS/DVD navigation system too? I believe Toyota India bungled on a lot of fronts. At least all these could have been optional extras, right? I mean if I am dying for a SUV, then only I will buy this otherwise what's wrong with Innova? Oh GOD!!! When will CR-V have third row seating?
Excellent interiors, CD changer, leather seats standard equipmentNo automatic transmission, no DVD player, no Sunroof/moonroof

I was one of the first persons in the state of Kerala to pick up the fortuner. This is my ninth car and the only one I have picked up without a test drive and actually drove my own vehicle out of the showroom. If this cannot be called trust in Toyota, what is? Having owned an Innova for three years made me kind of, what can you say- overconfident? Now that euphoria has started to sink in, and after having clocked 500 km in two days after the buy over all kinds of terrible roads and no roads at all, I am qualified to write some sort of a review. Yes, this is a brilliant product from the stables of Land Cruiser and Prado, a small cousin, but well abled, with the same genes. It took all the battering I gave it on the slushy mountains of Wynad and came out smiling. The roads were devoured with the appetite of a wrestler. The adrenaline rush that came over me was good. Now if someone feels that this is a novice doctor who knows nothing about driving cars, you are wrong. Last month I spent a week driving over 1500 km in Europe in a BMW 5 with 4 wheel drive, so me knows what it means to drive good cars, having driven all of Germany's great marques. Yes, I am peeved that the offerings are not there- the automatic, the navigation that even ordinary cars in europe have as standard, parking controls that lets you know all side of this behemoth, a gyrocompass, electric adjustable seats and the list goes on..After all, did I not spend a big sum of money for this car, and a great deal of time waiting? The sun roof- who uses them? I fail to understand their utility in our country. But all the rest are a must in an upmarket car, or does Toyota think that all are like me, will swallow anything that they give, and turn a blind eye to the inadequacies? Well, if an auto-box comes, I am shifting- for sure. The third seat is not all that bad, my parents sat there for over 200km over terrible roads, they are 65+ but of slim build, yes, but did not complain, and were in fact mighty thrilled. The A/C is good, the little touches like the rear A/C switch on the dash is neat. The music system is average, maybe toyota should look at the great one on the Outlander and make some amends. The Optitronic meters are neat and sporty, about the only thing macho in the cabin. To have a dash almost like the car you owned for three years and just sold for a decent price doesn't seem so good. Well, if the global economy would do better if all cars had the same platform dash and you could just build whatever you wanted over them, I will go with that, but only on this condition. My heart, of course wants more... Maybe you could have Fortuner VXL, ZXL and other versions, Toyota! That apart, the Fortuner makes me smile every time I look at it, the way people turn their heads 90 degrees in awe every time I pass them is a real good feeling. The massive car handles like a dream. I strongly recommend this to every one infected with the wanderlust bug. This baby goes everywhere!fabulous style, impressive road presence, good off road performanceno goodies on offer inside, no automatic box

It has great space, comfort and of course great resale. Its big and really strong built. It should be able to tackle indian conditions really well.It also comes with all time four wheel drive. It has great offroading abilities. Its only let down is its interiors and the 3rd bench is really cramped. Finally there is a car that can give all the other SUV's in this segment a run for there money.Looks really macho, comes with a piece of mind of a TOYOTA productIt shares its interiors with the INNOVA which is not good for the car almost double the price,no ESP

Guys, I took delivery of the Fortuner last week and after driving it for six days- ONLY 6 days - I am feeling saturated. Seriously - a driving a car is all about discovery, each day you find a good feature, you find the design welcoming, you notice a small feature and you feel you had not seen a curve earlier, had not focussed on detail of a small piece of chrome, The Engine did well today taking me through the rough patch, the road was closed and I drove through the field in my SUV, the competition eating dirt, the auto box manages the revs so well, the lights are HID and the have a smart feature which helps me corner so well, the wipers are rain sensing, the park-a-tronic is a beauty I never thought I could have perked in such a small place, I WANT TO GO TO LEH and not to the OFFICE in this car. And I want to go TODAY- so I am turning towards MANALI rather than NEHRU PLACE. As I hit the highway I need an audio system that will make Bhangra sound like Bhangra- and I aint letin any car CROSS me... yeh. Yippie Yippie YO. AHUN AHUN - all the way ... I once a bought a FORD IKON 1.6 petrol and I still remember the OLD days when I would ZIP to 160kmps and leave many eating the sand. It was fun the car though high on maintainence used to get my adrenalin pumping each time I thought of a long drive. I have grown and so has my Bank balance- and I can now think of buying a bigger and better car - but there aint no manufacturers who can give me one that is the right product at the right price. The Skoda 3.6 V6 - 260 bhp petrol 4*4 is an option- I can live with a mileage of 5-6 kmpl but the maintainence is extremely high and Skoda has a bad track record on service. The Japanese are a BIG let down in India- when Honda launched their product many of my friends had refused to sit in those cars for the quality of interiors- they realised it much later and only when the competition kicked their buts. Still Honda choses to mess up on the Accord the sales numbers prove the point- monthly sales down to 200 cars from 800 plus. Toyota might have garnered 200 bookings but they need to sell for 3-4 years and that certainly is not going to happen. THe FORTUNER is a big let down on build quality - the engine is not from a car but from a BOAT - do some research on the web and you will find out - this is not the same engine that is offered in other countries. And quite certainly the engine behaves like it is at SEA. The NOISE and the RATTLE that comes to you is HORRIBLE, especially when I start it in the morning and the neighbourhood in New Friends Colony Delhi- come to know that I am leaving for work!!! I really do not know why but these Japanese are doing some sort of experiment on the Indians - on testing our tolerance - let us see how long this lasts and what are the results. Those of you who think it is a GOOD SUV - Have never seen a Good SUV.Good looks over the competitionLousy Interiors, Innova Looks, a part each has been borowed from Corolla, Camry and Innova

FORTUNER 4 X 2 AT is very amazing car, I bought on 19th of december 2014 from uttam toyota. Waited for two years for decision to get this car. Unfortunately on 19th of january 2015 mrg this car got stolen from my home. Just wana aware u all regarding the security of this car if u plan to purchase it. Get to ur home only if u have space inside ur home to park.

Get all security devices fitted on the day of delivery. Thiefs know how to open and drive this car in 10 to 15 mins of time max.

The immobilzer in this car can get opened by thiefs either by laptop or duplicate keys made with original keys if u hand over at parking valet any unauthorised person.

Beware that all premium brand cars like bmw audi merc are not that easy to start due to multiple immobilizer installed. But these cars can be stolen easily due to high in demand outside urban areas.

Park ur car at safe place inside. No doubt the best car in this segment and price.

      Superb style carLess secure

I have taken test drive. There is a lot of Turbo lag, the engine it does not kick-in as soon as you press the accelerator. Due to heavy body, a lot of impact is felt inside the car. Very poor interiors. The last row can be converted into a prison for kids. For adults, who deserve to be punished, just make them sit in the 3rd row, they will learn the lesson on their own. The 3rd row in horrible because of a very small glass area and large C pillar, unlike Innova which has large glass area and no C pillar. This is the biggest draw back. There is no led space at all for the 3rd row.Excellent Exterior, good height, large tyers, big engineUseless 3rd row, too heavy & impact is felt, poor interiors, not worth 20 lacs, last row is prison

At first, It looks as if its a 98% copy of Tata Safari. The design is a copy of TATA Safari and interiors are mix of corolla & innova. You will feel that you are driving Innova and the passengers also will feel that they are riding in Innova. No feel of a 3.0 ltr engine Ford Endevour & Chevrolet Captiva are beeter in terms of feel and handling. Practically speaking its a Innvoa fitted in to Tata Safari Body and priced at 20 Lacs is not worth even a test Ride. I am Disappointed.NothingBad Interior, Heavily Priced, No traction Control
