It was almost 10 years since we were driving the indica Vista, which is an excellent car in every aspect except for mileage. So sedan it was!! Rapid, Yaris, Verna, Elantra, Corolla Altis, Swift Desire, Aspire, Vento, City... These cars were driven(automatic versions only). But ciaz was yet to be launched. So waited patiently for 1.5 months for a test drive. Test drive was 2nd best ride-wise (1st was Vento). And now, after 2 months of ownership and 4000 kms on the odo, its an excellent all-rounder. Be it city or highway, it has a predictable response and feels well-planted. In spite of having just 4 gears in automatic gearbox (as compared to 7 in Vento), the transitions are very smooth. Admitted that it has no sunroof or ventilated front seats of Verna, but it has a more stable ride and also has ESP. Space is more than enough as we are 6-feet-plus tall passsengers. Drove for 300kms at a stretch but not a stint of tiredness!!! And 13.8 kmpl mileage!! If u are looking for a sedan under 20 lakhs, and you are taller than 6 feet, go for it blindly. Why 4 out of 5? The purchase process at Nexa was a bit unsatisfactory. Couple that with not-as-strong-as-Vento structure, 4 on 5 is reasonable.

As expected Maruti provides value for money. But the exterior can a shade better as compare to competitors like that of Honda City. There are few minor shortfalls like bumper to body gap, which is quite obvious and dents the appearance. The performance and driving comfort is quite good and satisfactory.
