      Exterior Very well designed and made for the urban and mountains. very impressive. especially when you need to impress dat "gori" in minis.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Roomy for all to seat.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performs well in the urban street and takes over the wilderness as expected designed to tamme the road. but still needs some more horses to do the JOB. TATA builds the right and high quality motors fuel isn't an issue with my safari, gearbox designed to pull and tow.

      Ride Quality & Handling Excellent especially for those in the back. shocks builr for the indian road and ridess like the m320 benz. a strong chasis and heavy struts allows me to cruise all day long with comfort. A/C and power steering makes the safari a "GHAJRAJ" cuts the curb and a cold cabin does the job for hours!

      Final Words The executive class urban vehicle does the Job.

      Areas of improvement Exhaust tail pipe and some more accessories with more horse power.

      It was an excellent car with good handling pick up style and comfort, after the car went through 10,000 kilometers the clutch started to wear out fast and the after sales service is so poor that none of the spares are available with the Sales Outlet Workshop, Tata needs to pull up their pants if they want to catch up with the service like the other manufacturers, I would like to see an Indian Car beat the international manufacturers, but if their R&D and their Service is Sleeping they will be caught with their Pants Down.

      Exterior Great. Makes impact and presence is felt on road.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good. However scope exists with company to improve on interiors, especially fitments of TFTs and other electronic gadgets.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox For my being passionate for the Safari, I never was occupant or drove any other SUV. Thus for me it was more of possession rather than trial or experiments. Indeed, I didn't find any disadvantages except for costly maintenance in terms of spares. I purchased in Oct 12 and since then vehicle has achieved 22000+ KM without any breakdowns or failures on road . Of course, I love to maintain vehicle myself. Longest drive during this occupancy has been 570 KMs + nonstop. Indeed it was comfortable drive. However, during one long drive 450 KM, I found AC of the vehicle not responding to desired level. Later was informed by the servicing centre that reason could have been icing on Air Conditioner.

      Ride Quality & Handling Great. Again turn radius is too large, Nevertheless, people wait to see you negotiating turns, so don't worry you won't people honking during your beast making reverse or turning in congested or thick traffic area.

      Final Words Great purchase only if you have passion.

      Good Style, Good Power and ability to make itself presence on road.Turn Radius.

      I like this suv very much. not only me my family also like this suv very much.My yunger brother is mad for this suv.This suv is very very comfortable. I love it's speed.It GOES VERY FAST. I love to drive this suv. When i drive's this suv i feel good and very very comfortable in this suv.It is much n much n much better then other suv's.Its exterior's and interior's are fabulous.This suv ismade for strong peoples who want's to race up their lifes and who wants comfortable drive.This suv is best in fuel economy.This is totaly INDIAN SUV.By truely heart i want to thanks TATA GROUP for making this wonderful SUV.

      DiCOR 2.2 VTT Engine
      The new Safari Dicor is fitted with the new generation 2.2 L Dicor (Direct injection common rail) engine that is operated by a 32-bit electronic control unit and incorporates state-of-the-art technology. While lowering emission and fuel consumption by a few notches, the new engine delivers an incredible peak power of 140 PS and a maximum torque of 320 Nm.    
           
      VARIABLE TURBINE TECHNOLOGY (VTT)
      The new 2.2 L Dicor engine is equipped with a specially designed turbocharger using Variable Turbine Technology (VTT). It provides exceptional flexibility in controlling engine air requirements over extremely broad speed range & load range. This not only boosts power and torque but also lowers fuel consumption and emission under all operating conditions.    
           
      16 VALVE DOHC
      The new engine is equipped with 16 valves (4 valves per cylinder) operated by double overhead camshafts, which help in generating higher power and torque while lowering fuel consumption.

       The entry-level of 2.2 VTT offering is available at a price point of Rs 6.4 lakh and the high end version of the same model is available at Rs 7.33 lakh (both are ex-showroom Delhi).

      Exterior

       The Safi looks good and has lots of road prescence. The flared up wheel arches, chrome bash plate, huge wheels and a few other bits make it look rugged and intimidating. In a good way it looks utilitarian and practical. But after many years since launch it's starting to look dated.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

       The safari has phenominal comfort especially at the back where there is massive space in all directions and legendary thigh support. The seats are very comfortable and the beige theme makes the experience better. Seating positions are great the boot too is massive and the whole experience is enriched by the host of features like reverse camera, DVD players, headphone sockets, audio remote, etc. No other car in this price segment gives you this comfort the safari does and if that is your main priority then this is a great car for you. The only problem is with the fit and finish which is not that great and can develop a few occasional squeaks and rattles.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

       Safari's engine is slow it takes time to accelerate and it is noisy at high speeds it also has turbo lag so you have to keep it at high revs for power. At certain revs it is so powerful that it can pin you to your seat. But what spoils all this and makes it slow is the hefty weight. Fuel economy is just average not too bad but by no standards is it good either. The gearbox is mushy and can mishift occasionally. So thi is not a good car to drive it's better to hire a chauffeur and enjoy the comfort and luxury of the backseat.

      Ride Quality & Handling

       What also makes this car not good to drive is the handling, its got lots of body roll and a lifeless steering. The chassis does not have too much mechanical grip and the soft suspension doesn't help that. The only thing that saves it is the massive grippy tyres. So while the handing further decentuates the driver involvement, the ride accentuates the comfort, it's like a magic carpet and glides over every bump with ease, the only problem is the suspension noise.

      Final Words

       This is a great car with good looks, great interiors, great ride and good features. And if these are your priorites and if your going to be chauffeur driven then it's your car. But it could do with some improvement in many areas.

      Areas of improvement  

       The safari's fit and finish, weight and driver involvement need to be improved. They also need to improve reliability too, to make a world class product.

      Exterior Good.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Poor fuel efficeint, very poor after sale service.

      Ride Quality & Handling Average, only cosmetically good.

      Final Words Average rating except for looks. Trying to make old lady look young. Eveyone wants their lady look good!

      Areas of improvement Attitude of the personnel involved in handling after sales service at service stations SANYA, OKHLA DELHI & AUTOLINKS, VASANT KUNJ, DELHI need to improve. Personnel at the service stations need  a lot of improvement  to get trust back. I know atleast two of my officers who purchased with pride but sold in disappointment. I am handling nearly four hundred officers & probably understand the needs & expectations of them but here dealing with staff at your service sattions was shocking.I donot expect anything in return butI felt necessay to give my sincere feedback so that the future buyers are aware & cautions before going in for the product.  Customer who puts in bis amount expects  abit of courtsey else things end with stale relationship.

      Only the size & looks of SUV.Every customer is treated as Taxi owner including SUV.Poor after sale service.

      Exterior Excellent styling & absolute presence on the road.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Superb space, comfortable interior & excellent ride quality.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Highly powerful engine, excellent stability on the road & superb suspension. Fuel economy may be improved if possible though for such an engine you can't expect much, 12kmph to 14kmph shoul be excellent. Mine gives 10-11kmph in the city & improves to 11-13kmph on the highways... indian conditions are compromising.

      Ride Quality & Handling Drive comfort, ride quality, very stable performance.

      Final Words I have owned a TATA SAFARI DICOR 3.0 L for some time now, its a 4x2 EX and I simply love it. When you drive a Safari, you simply get noticed. People do turn around their heads to see you. Drive it to feel it is the best advice that I can make out. I love it.

      Areas of improvement Fuel economy, smoke emission levels and an improvement on the plastic interiors & certain improvements in the electrical/electronic systems of the car.

      Exterior Real SUV Looks, Aerodynamic built for better grip at higher speeds, Easily overtakes most of the vehicles of this range.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Four people can sit comfortably on the middle row, Central lock n middle row A/C, Power windows on all doors and remote adjustable orvm are standard equipments. Feels great.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Quite and smooth at 120 KMPH. Fuel economy of 18 KMPL @ Yamuna Expressway with A/C switched off. Gear box is smooth and swift.

      Ride Quality & Handling Steady and quite inside the cabin while crusing at 110-120 KMPH. Family feels great.

      Final Words Good Value for Money. Indian by heart and all steel by TATA. Heavy by nature but adds to royalty and a tru Brute on the Road. You cant feel small, be it a any other vehicle on and off the road. This vehicle makes you feels stronger and safer on any given road and at all times.

      Areas of improvement The shockers of rear wheels needs Improvement. Moreover TATA needs to monitor its service centers for more trained and seasoned mechanics (rather then replacing them every now & then) for identification of the problem and customer centric approach. Replacement of parts should be instant rather then keeping on experimenting to fix the problem areas.

      Good Fuel Economy, Style & Comfort, Royal RideEngine noise after crossing 175 KMPH...

      Exterior It sure is head turner even though it is on roads for over a decade.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Just too good. Very spacious, Comfortable, make ur own roads, indeed.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I have driven it for about twenty five thousand kms and this monster has never dissopointed me, fuel economy is on lower side but at par with the petrol cars..!!

      Ride Quality & Handling As I said in my previous review as well I dont think u can ever say its not comfortable. though high speed braking is little bothering but I suppose ABS version sure d take care of that.

      Final Words This is my second review on safari last one was on 25th oct '11 then I just drove it for few hundered kms now I have had done about twenty thousand kms. I would say it is just wonderful all the way uptill now no major issues ever just going smooth. But sure safari is for the ones who just love this car I would encourage all who want to grab this one!

      Areas of improvement Plastisc quality fit n finish.

      Every thing .. and i mean every thing....Fit n finish could have been better....
