Exterior I was always a Skoda Laura fan, so just loved the new grill and the look of the 2009 model.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious, both the front and rear seats. Very comfortable driver's seat, I have driven long distances and don't feel the fatigue that I used to feel in my previous car. The middle seat though in rear sitting could be made better, can get uncomfortable for longer rides due to the rear AC vents. Otherwise very classy look, though I spent extra and got my self leather upholstery and teak wood finishing.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is just too good, typical German quality, overtaking on the highways is just a small tap on the pedal away. Fuel economy is surprisingly good for a car of this size. I get around 20 KMPL on highways and around 13 in the city, my car though is only 8 months old and one needs to see what happens when it starts ageing.
Ride Quality & Handling The overall handling, road grip and ride quality is just awesome.
Final Words Just love the car.
Areas of improvement Central rear sitting, more features should be loaded.

Exterior super looks with a majest road presence. Bought a magic black and is a show stealer with its looks.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Driven 3000Km gives 12.5 in chennai traffic and 17 on highways .AT gearbox is a breeze and excellent in sports mode and makes heads turn.The manul mode is a pleasure to use and very very easy.
Ride Quality & Handling Bumpy roads were handled well and sharp turns are a breeze.Even on very heavy rains on the highway it felt very very secure.The rain sensor ,auto head light on fuction is terrific when it rains .All you need to do is just drive and not be bothered about turning on any switch.
Final Words A definite recomendation from me for a MUST BUY.
Areas of improvement Dealer delivered the vehicle with uncleaned interiors.The a/c switch of button is not easy to see and use .may be needs a definte rethinking on its location.

Bought it preowned, was told not to go with skoda, but after driving and getting the first service done it change my perception about skoda, i had hyundai verna earlier has the service bill for 10 to 12k and in skoda its 11.5k which was a shocker to me as i thought it would go to above 15 to 20k.
even people mentioned that skoda has bad cust. service, I dint felt that at all, I reckon it was best experince I had till date, considering the experince in Hyundai, tata and suzuki service experience.
Even skoda has a new strategy of working on cust. service which i beleive they had implemented very well

What a waste of spending money on a magnificent machine which is backed by the worst after sales service experienced so far. I have owned an Indica and a City before this and have not had any issues with the service. On service front Honda takes the cake and Tata is also good . But if you a looking at good service from Skoda - please forget it. They will charge you for everything, and cherge you for changing the same filters twice in 2 months!. Am paying more than Rs8000 for a free paid service!. Then too the problems are never resolved, first the mist forms on the screen during rainy season, they fix it by placing a cardboard, then in the name of some mandatory mid yr FREE service they charge again for one thing or the other, then the AC stops working within few months of buying, they charge for AC filters, then after one month when the car goes for service they charge again for the same AC filters changed a mobnth back. They take more than 2 days to fix the AC problem, they charge for pick up and drops. While buying we did bring the issue of costly service with the sales guy, he assure us that its a myth, because with Skoda you send your car once in a year for service while with other cars you have to send it after every 3 months. Believe me, IT IS TRUE AFTER SALES SERVICE OF SKODA IS EXPENSIVE!

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good. However, the Company could have given an automatic climatic control.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent - Gearbox is just fantastic (a hot knife through butter). The fuel economy of the car is also good. It has given me a mileage of 20 on highways and around 15 in the city conditions. However, the mileage of the car also depends on how you drive the vehicle.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent - You are always comfortable at high speeds. The handling is also brilliant to say the least. Riding quality of the car is exceptionally good.
Final Words Value for money.
Areas of improvement Shockabsorbers are a bit stiff which need an improvement. Further the Company could have also given automatic climate control and xenon lights for this particular model. While going on long drives especially on cement roads sometimes there is too much noise of the road inside the cabin which sometimes is irritating.

If you need a car to drive only for 30,000 kms, buy the skoda, otherwise stay out of the skoda, i have kept my Skoda which has only done 120,000 Kms so far and have spent already 3.5 lakhs for service/Maintainence/Repairs. Now all of a sudden i come across this Engine stalling Issues which seems like a hard to diagnose issue even in an authorised service centre, the best part is they dont even know to diagnose inspite of having the Scanning maching, and come out with strange faults to make money, they couldnt diagnose a Relay 109 problem in 3 days and advised me to change the complete fuel pump. its really a Coffin since the stalling is so sudden and you may be on a highway and someone can ramn into you at a very high speed and you have no control on the steering since if the car stalls the steering gets tight and cannot be turned to be pulled over to a side.

Exterior No complaints about exterior, although they could have made it look more modern for the price you pay.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Front seats are great, good for a single driver car, music system in the elegance is very dated with the mere basic, not woth it for the price you pay. least they could offer is steering mounted controls..cheap of the company.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is the best part, loads of torque, rockets to 180 km/ph in no time. You can feel the power pushing you back into the seat. Fuel economy is a question mark. Company will give you all sorts of promises just to make a sale but reality is differrent. Your realtime average meter will say you are getting 18-24 but reality you are not getting more than 8...otherwise your tank will last for months if you drive average of 1500 kms a month. this is my personal experience and complaint. gearbox is just wonderfull.

Areas of improvement
1) ORVMs too small, there is a blind side on the right side ORVM where you cant see vehicles 10 ft behind and parallel to you, i have missed having accident at least 3-4 times. this is a priority.
2) The rear back rest is just too uncomfortable for a more than 17 lakh car ?? what the hell?? maruti has better rear bench,
3) Stiff ride qwality does not suit everybody, in mumbai you can feel every single small bump on the road, the car even jumps off track sometimes ???
4) Music system is like my granmother car..infact here was better. For the price you pay you get a very out dated and basic ssystem with no usb, or steering mounted controls..??? other competition at this cost is giving so much more.
5) The dealers are just ripping everyone off, i bought the car only becuase sales guy told me not more than 10-12,000 per year for service, part extra ofcource. But now skoda wants you to service car 2-3 times a year...get ready to pay 45,000 a year minimum for maintenance, whatever saving you thought you will get by buying a deisel car is out no longer valid. this is my biggets complaint,Dealers will take you for a ride and charge you a bomb because there a monopoly on parts. Thats why skoda cars have no resale value.
