The second-generation Renault Captur was spied testing in Europe. It will be the first production-spec Renault to be offered with a plug-in hybrid engine when it goes on sale next year with a possible reveal at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Our spy sources reveal that the next-generation Renault Captur will have the latest version of the 'family face' already seen on the Renault Megane. There'll be new headlamps at the front and rear, but in profile, the next Captur will seem like an evolution of the current car.
The car is expected to grow in size with regard to the interiors. A stretched platform will make the car slightly longer and wider than before, to the benefit of internal shoulder and legroom while also boosting luggage capacity. This 2020 Renault Captur's plug-in hybrid system is based on a Nissan-developed 1.6-litre petrol engine working in conjunction with a 9.8 kWh battery and electric motor.
The design and technology of this Captur will have a significant influence on the India spec model with a higher influence in terms of the former. Expect to see an updated India-spec Captur by the middle of next year.
