My friend purchased this car for 55,000 rupees it was 2002 model. This is one of the cheap cars in the used market. The car feels very good and nice to drive with its low set seating profile. The petrol engine is punchy enough but has a bit of lag in the beginning. There is some noise coming into the cabin. Also this car cannot compete with the cars which are now in its segment. It is a the predecessor of the new ford fiesta classic. The looks of the Ikon is a bit old now. The tail lamps reminds the classic from the same company. The interiors look ageing. But still are comfortable for a ride. The low set driving position gives the feel of a sport car. This car also have four door power window fixed by the company. But the mirrors are internally adjustable (not electrically). The rear view mirror inside the cabin have dimming facility which is adjustable from inside. Also there is a rear window lock along with child lock. The second row offers good seating comfort. Even I can sit comfortably when the driver seat is set to my height which is 5feet 5inches. There is no dead pedel, but the clutch is light to use. The driver seat does not provide height adjust. Also unlike the present cars the bonnet hood opener is under the steering column. The boot is large enough to carry the baggages of a 4 membered family. But the car can house 3 people in its rear seat with a breeze. The dash looks so bored in this new conditions. There is a music system with 4 speakers and 2tweeter. Also a cigarette lighter. There is no lever to open the boot from inside. The only way is to twist the key from outside. The engine is punchy enough to carry 5passengers when the initial lag is avoided. The suspension is good but not the best. There is no central locking from the company but the car that I got has an aftermarket central locking system. The service cost is a bit high, since it is a Ford. But retains to give a mileage of 13-15 kmpl in petrol. Pros 1. Best for 5 people transport. 2. More space inside. 3. Low price to buy from the used car market. 4. Powerful AC Cons 1. Quality of the car is an issue 2. Needs a gear down for an overtaking 3. There is no cabin insulation so the sound enters easily. 4. Difficulty to use the key.
