Full Review

Exterior It is Good looking car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) AC is faulty resulting Cabin temperate is to high. You can not drive this car where atmospheric temperature is more then 30 degree. Interior is quite OK. Audio system is very good but all the features of Bolero is not activated. Seat is quite good and comfortable. You feel so compact and some more space for passenger seat is required.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very bad. engine stops frequently. Engine power & clutch system is inadequate. fuel economy is good. Behavior of engine and clutch is not matching perfectly resulting you could not feel satisfactory. In city taffic road engine will stop and you feel uncomfortable.

Ride Quality & Handling Steering and break is perfect. Gear is smooth. Suspension system is also good.

Final Words It is very bad experience with SKODA SUV. I Never suggest to any one to buy any New Skoda Product.

Areas of improvement  AC System, Engine Power, Clutch System. Skoda should seriously think about improvement at an earliest and call back all the sold vehicle for necessary needful. In lack of GPS system is look substandard car.

I think you didn't get the message. 5-9 cm doesn't make much different. See Duster, Yeti, and to be launched Eco-Sports, are all compact SUV with 2-3 % variation in length, width and height.

You need to live with these cars for sometime to evaluate them objectively. Drive Yeti and duster for sometime, yeti interiors are in different league when compare with Duster, Scorpio, Safari or even Fortuner's interiors are no match.

Please refrain from passing judgements without having association with these vehicles.

My home work was already done at home.Yeti is smaller in length, width and height than the Duster. We will now see Ford Ecosport also. Also,Ertiga is not a SUV,it is MUV.

Shiv on 25 Jul, 2012 at 03:13 PM

Do some homework, compare length of Duster, Scorpio, Ertiga, these are all withing 7 cm (70 mm).

This is compact SUV with safety, loaded with features. Otherwise go for bulky SUV's such as Fortuner, Endeavour, Pajero etc.

Compact size works both ways (positive/negative). You choose your pick. I have driven Yeti and Scorpio both and know the difference.

Yeti size is also much smaller to justify its high price

Well let the Yeti and other Skoda owners pitch in here. Odd lemon shouldn't be generalized. AFAIK, Yeti is terrific product and looked VFM after launch of Duster, XUV etc.

You ar forced to visit Service station more frequently due to quality issues and lack of training to staff there.

Shiv on 25 Jul, 2012 at 01:33 PM

After looking at Duster, XUV fit and finish, quipement list, car doesn't look over priced, at leat 2*2 ambient model.

Skoda's sale service outlets are limited but similar to VW, more than Nissan, Renualt and many more only less than Maruti, Hyundai, Ford, Tata and may be Honda and Toyota.

Service quality of VW is also not good. Hyundai ASS is pretty costly, so is the case with Honda (inteval is 5000 hence per service cost less but when extrapolate at 15000 interval cost is pretty high).

If someone buy Indica or Alto, Wagon R, or similar entry level car from Maruti and Tata or Hyundai, people don't complain much about the service quality even if experience is not so good.

Whereas in case of Skoda, products are pitched as premium and hence customer profile is different, people are more tech sevy (in most cases) and expect better service (no offense in expecting better treatment) and hence problem gets highlighted more.

ASS depends on the service station to major extent. Yeti is pretty reliable vehicle and interval is 15000, hence why would you visit SASS frequnetly.

Car may be good but its price is high and after sales service non existent .

Stop blamming Skoda in general and Yeti in particular.

After reading his review, his main problem is about car getting stalled in middle of road at traffic signals.

This is no problem with car but "Driver". Yeti is compact SUV and one should know how to handle SUV's. Use accelerator while taking off and release luctch smoothly you car will not stop. Once your hands are set, you will write odd in praise of Yeti.

Drive car in turbo zone irrespective of gear i.e. 1800-2200 Rpms. You will see the different Yeti.

Good suspension, very very smooth gear box, loaded with features, comfortable front seats, very reliable engine (engine doesn't have any issue), top class fit and finish (try you hands at Fortuner and compare interiors) for the price. All the SUV's (diesel) are dud before turbo kick but once in turbo zone, SUV's are big daddy of roads.
