Next-Gen Hyundai Verna receives over 20,000 bookings in two months

The next-gen Hyundai Verna has crossed a new milestone with over 20,000 bookings in just two months of its launch. Moreover, the company further claims that it has received more than 1.5 lakh inquiries in the same period. This time around, Hyundai boasts that the new Verna has led to a new trend of first time car buyers contributing to 20 per cent of its total sales.

Reports further go on to indicate that the over 25 per cent of the customers have opted for automatic transmission over the manual one. Interestingly, the report further goes on to claim that more than 45 per cent of new Verna customers look forward to 21 new age features like front ventilated seats, smart trunk, smart sunroof, the eco coating technology and advanced telematics system. Speaking on its achievement, Y K Koo, MD and CEO- Hyundai Motor India Limited said: “The Next Gen VERNA has outperformed in India once again with more than 20,000 bookings and 150,000 enquiries in a short span of two months of its launch in India. We are extremely thankful to our Indian customers for their trust in brand Hyundai. The next-gen Hyundai Verna is powered by a pair of 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The petrol unit produces 121bhp of power at 6,400rpm and 151Nm of peak torque at 4,850 rpm. The oil burner, on the other hand, puts out 126bhp at 4000rpm and an impressive torque of 260Nm from as low as 1,500rpm. Both engines can be had with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission options. As for features, the new model gets a bigger seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, dual USB charging points, power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs and climate control. Hyundai has also added Eco Coating for scent control, rear curtains and a hands-free boot opening. The top-of-the-line model gets six airbags and ABS with EBD.
