Even the base variant comes equipped with features like automatic climate control, projector headlamps and a rear defogger, which are usually found in higher trims.In terms of mileage, it delivers around 18–19 kmpl in the city and 20–22 kmpl on highways, which is quite impressive for its segment. The rear seat space is also very good; three adults can sit comfortably for short and medium journeys.However, one important miss is the absence of electrically adjustable ORVM (side mirrors) in the base model. Is the Glanza E All You Really Need?The Toyota Glanza E (Petrol) is arguably the most sensible base variant in the premium hatchback segment. After driving it for several months, I am highly impressed by the refinement of the 1.2L DualJet engine. In city traffic, the engine is silent and smooth, while on highways, it easily delivers a mileage of around 21–22 kmpl. What sets the 'E' variant apart is the inclusion of Automatic Climate Control and all four power windows as standard—features usually reserved for higher trims in other cars. The cabin is spacious with generous rear legroom and a practical 318-litre boot. The only minor drawbacks are the lack of a factory-fitted music system and the light build quality. However, for a budget-conscious buyer, these are manageable. Choosing Toyota also gives me peace of mind with their superior 3-year/100,000 km warranty and excellent service network. If you want a premium feel without the premium price tag, the Glanza E is the perfect choice.
