Hello There, This is Renganayaki from Chennai, I think I am among the many victims who got fooled by Mahendra’s TUV 300’s advertisement.

I bought a brand new TUV 300 from CAI Industries, Coimbatore because I was told that it was the only place where Red colour TUV300 was available, I went to Coimbatore along with my husband get the car and within the next 12 Hours we faced a serious of problems and it made me wonder if I had purchased a brand new car or a used one, below I am mentioning the list of problems that I had faced in less than 3 days. I request you to kindly replace me with a brand new car or refund my amount that I have paid.

      ·      In the first few minutes of driving there was some noise from the right door, when I enquired, they took the car fixed it and told me there will no other complaints and the car is perfect.

      ·      Then when I took the car to a temple near by I heard an unusual noise coming out of the engine, when I called the executive, they told me that it is a common problem that comes in Mahendra cars and it can be fixed and they did fix it

      ·      Then I found out a crack in the gear box, by this time I was really worried if the car that I bought was in good condition or one filled with defects, later the gear box console was changed

      ·      After driving 100 km from Coimbatore I found battery warning lamp started to blink, which is very unusual for a car that has travelled just 100km, when I contacted the executive again, they asked me to come back and to their showroom, I requested the executive the change the vehicle as the vehicle overall was in a very bad condition to which the executive told me that the vehicle cannot be replaced at all.

      ·      The next day when I reached Chennai, I was shocked to find out oil leaking and I was told to take it to the Local Mahendra Service center, they said the container clip is not tight they changed the clip and told me that there is something on the container and they themselves where not sure of, the engineers in the Sulekha Motars told me the bonnet is not in proper shape, the bonnet’s fitting on the left side din’t have any gap from the car’s body and it had scratches to this problem

      ·      Oil leaked again the next day and the engineer from Sulekha Motors informed me that container is damaged and I think the while paste on the container was purposefully  pasted on it just to cover it up. I was charged Rupees 1000/- for this and they told me that this issue has nothing to do with Mahandra and CAI Industires motors must be responsible for this.

      ·      There are also issues with stearing, the door pad on the left side power window was not fixed properly and it can be dismandled just by pulling it up, there is also a crack in the dashboard.

      ·      The vehicle  was registered temporarely and told me that it can be Registered in Chennai but when I went to register, I was told that the bank’s address was that of the HDFC’s Coimbatore address and not of the one in Chennai which granted me loan, therefore it cannot be registered here in Chennai.

Now, if these are the problems that I have to face in the first 3 days of purchasing a brand new car I really wonder what sought of issues I should be facing in a few months, we are completely depressed and feel like we have been cheated 10 lacs,

Please replace a brand new car or kindly refund the money that I have paid. I do not want to the car to repaired again and again because I was looking forward to own a brand new car and not a used one. I have left the car in CAI Industries and I will not be using the same car again. They still claim the vehicle is in good condition and cannot be replaced. Till now no one is giving me a proper

I seriously doubt they since I was coming from all the way from Chennai, I was purposefully given this damaged car so that I won’t be bothering them often.

With this letter I am attaching video and images to support everything that I have mentioned here

I got delivery of my TUV3OO T8 Manual on 16 Sep 2015 from Koncept Mahindra, New Delhi. It was the first car they delivered in Delhi NCR.

Now it’s being a month and covered more than 3000 kms since I purchased my TUV 300. It is working perfect.

I have observed that many people are comparing this vehicle with Ford eco sports, Duster or even Hyundai Creta. I think you cannot compare TUV 300 with these vehicles because it will not be justified. As all these vehicles are not a SUV but are big pumped up hatch backs.

There are basic technological feature of a SUV such as:-

      1.      Rear wheel drive (For better Stability and Off road capabilities)

      2.      Ladder frame chassis (Rugged and Flexible Chassis suitable for Off Road activities)

      3.      Double fishbone suspension for front and Multi Link suspension for rear. (Durable in any kind of terrains)

Please check specification of any real SUV (e.g. Scorpio, Innova, TATA Safari or Fortuner).

None of these cars (Eco Sports, Duster and Creta) has any of these technologies.

SUV means ruggedness, for which you need above mentioned technologies.

I think if you are a real adventure lover and want to feel confident while driving your vehicle in any kind of terrain, TUV300 is the best option available in the price range with all Real SUV advantages.

If need to compare, I will compare this vehicle with Mahindra Scorpio. All those who drove Mahindra Scorpio before and love the vehicle, I bet you will love this Mini Scorpio. Yes, this is what I call TUV 300.

Technically TUV 300 got the same chassis structure as of New Scorpio, Similar gear box, better ground clearance and same ride quality.

Finally Verdict: It is a very good option for a entry level SUV, You can enjoy city drive and also enjoy terrains like in Manali-Leh highway.

Good NVH levels, Engine Torque, Space.Front Power window switch in center console, No Rear AC vents

My TUV 3OO purchased on 13-11-2015 ( 5 months) with Automotive Manufacturers Pvt Ltd ( Mahindra dealers ) suddenly stopped moving in the middle of the road. After some time I managed to put the vehicle in 1st gear & parked on the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the nearby Mahindra workshop, 'VVC mahindra at Hightech city' and VVC Mahindra dealer said that the clutch & flywheel are damaged and need replacement. The total cost quoted was around Rs 45000 ( Forty Five thousand Rupees )  ( please find the quotation attached) and asked me to pay. My vehicle is still under guarantee. Even though the vehicle is done only 18000 km, they say this is not due to manufacturing defect !!!. I have already raised a complaint calling 18002096006 ( The guy said that I will get a call from area manager of Mahindra in one day time ) .Unfortunately I am one of the earliest owners of Mahindra TUV3OO and bought the car without waiting for the users feedback and got carried away with the looks.

Now, if these are the problems that I have to face in the first 5 months of purchasing a brand new car I really wonder what sought of issues I should be facing in a few months, I am completely depressed and feel like I have been cheated 10 lacs.

Final Words Good Experience not to TRUST the vehicle mahindra TUV 300,its  not Road worthy as the claim of Mahindra.

Exterior Look and Style: Yes, it indeed looks like a box but that's the military look - it gives the vehicle the rugged and strong look. But it's not that bad a look. Making it curvy would have defeated the purpose of a SUV.

Did a small test drive and found the seating to be comfortable. With the arm rest positioned correctly, the gear shifting was easy. But the gear itself seemed a bit tight but I cannot judge it at the moment because it was fairly a very small test drive.

Pickup: It was quick and I could feel the charge. Some reviews say it will reach 110 kms/hr very fast but above that it's slow, cannot and did not test that. But from my test drive, the pickup was indeed good and the steering was quite steady. I could go max only upto 70 km/hr due to the traffic, that too just reached 70 and slowed down.

All necessary features seemed to be available though personally I do not like the windows switches in the middle. Pricing is very less compared to the Creta and S-Cross, so that makes it more appealing. Would have loved to have the auto climate control, cruise control and push start. Push start is a must for such SUV's. Hopefully Mahindra will add it later.

Overall looks to be a winner! Exterior if not soo good but traditional.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are smashing, comfort like a plane.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox It comes with hawk engine, with 90 bhp power ang gives me mileage of 18 kmpl.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good but it doesnt come with a cruise control

Final Words It is a tougest car, if it design is improved it will give competetion to bmw x1.

Areas of improvement Design should be changed.

      Exterior: Very good

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Very bad

Ride Quality & Handling: Not good

Final Words: Need to improve on engine quality

      Areas of improvement :

Bought the T8 manual white in April end 2016 after 4 months wait. Drove the vehicle in city for 1500 KM and in traffic one day black smoke came out of engine and gears did not work for some time, I stopped the car to side, waited it to cool down and went home somehow. Next day I sent the vehicle to their service center, they kept it for one day and said nothing wrong with the vehicle, they have instructed me not to drive in 2nd gear and not use clutch so much. Not sure how can we drive not using 2nd gear and clutch in traffic. Drove another 500 km, finally it broke down near necklace road middle of big junction. Engine is running but unable to change gear. It was a big traffic jam everyone honking from behind, traffic police by my side somehow pulled the vehicle to side, waited for 3 hours for the towing company tow the vehicle to service center. Next the service person called and told clutch plates are gone and will be replaced free of cost. Took two days and said the parts were replaced. The vehicle is back but now I feel kicks when I change gears, it is not at all smooth. I have complained again that problem is not resolved. On top this I am getting mileage 7.9 km per liter with econ a/c on in city driving. Service person told it was due to clutch and now that it was replace I will get better mileage. The vehicle is yet to be picked up tomorrow. I spoke to sales manager about returning the vehicle with so many problems, but he says he has never heard any technical problem so far about TUV300 and he is able to see 25 cars per week and was asking me to call other buyers to check how the vehicle is running. I have no time for that, asked him to either fix or replace.  My family is hesitant to go on this car for long rides with such a bad experience. Will keep you posted. We bought a TUV 300 a couple of months ago. Everything seemed fine for a week. Then started the problem.

To our surprise a brand new vehicle, just a month old broken down in the middle of out trip to coorg.

The problem was found to be electrical in nature. Unfortunately I might have as well given the vehicle to my 5 year old nephew

for the repairs. The engineers were dumbfounded and didnt know how to rectify the problem, the vehicle was with them

for 3 days, by some miracle the issue was corrected or so we thought cause after a week the vehicle broke down again this time

thankfully it was near our home. Once again the same electrical problem, this time it took 4 days for the miracle.

You can understand my dismay since this was a new vehicle I purchased with my hard earned money. Unfortunately mahindra does not care about that.

We asked for them to change our vehicle since it was defective at best....as you can imagine no reply.

All I can say is theres no diffence between mahindra and a fraud company since they took our money in full but gave us somethin defective and

broken, worst part is they have amateur engineers who cannot even figure out what is wrong with the vehicle.

My sincere advice **DO NOT BUY THIS VEHICLE, Theres a reason this vehicle is cheap compared to other compact SUVs**.

      Good style!Electrical issues, No accountability

Exterior Initially when I saw TUV I was attracted to its aggressive design and wondered how Mahindra pulled this off! I purchased this beast in November and right from that date I have got scores of people coming to me n asking about this beauty. I was even stopped by traffic cops thrice in different locations just to ask about this new SUV. M sure most of the other owners also would have experienced this. This vehicle is attractive and people will look at it when u drive it around. U will feel proud when u drive it around n to see it standing n waiting for u in your parking. One tip - if ur buying this vehicle go for dark colours like red, blue or black as these draw the most attention bcos of the front design.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I went twice for an out of the city drive from Mumbai with my family and it felt very comfortable during long drives. Driving comfort is good, you don't get tired even after a long drive. Cabin is roomy and you get fantastic view of the road. Though i feel the second row seat cushioning could have been better. Also there is no centre armrest even in the top end model. The static bending lamps are just fantastic option to have. At zig zag roads you get full visibility because of increased illumination.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox You get enough power for overtakings though i feel a little more power at the upper band would have been better. But still this engine will not leave you disappointed. Having driven a 1.3 litre multijet in Ritz for last 4 yrs I initially felt the engine under powered. But if you go soft on your right foot then you get the full power out of this beast. The dual turbo kicks in very early so if you floor the accelerator pedal you will miss the fun. Fuel economy is maximum 12 in the city and 15 on the highway.

Ride Quality & Handling You will never feel any small potholes or small rumblers. Shocks are soft and the travel is long hence you can confidently ride through any bad roads. Body is roll is there and is expected because of its height but nothing to complain. Braking is good and confident.

Final Words Mahindra has come out with a very product and good price point. If they improve the serive centre experience a little then they are here capture the hearts of the young generation.

Areas of improvement There should be some differentiation in the service centre for their bolero trucks n the TUV's n XUV's. Now you will see all these vehicles getting serviced in one service centre. The service handlers are used to the language spoken to the truck fleet owners and they lack the skill to speak with individual customers like me or even I think to premium product buyers like XUV!! I am wondering what experience they are going to give to the KUV owners since they are targeting the young crowd!!! Hope Mahindra takes care of this point.

Amazing style, really tough and good road presencePoor service experience at the service centres

Exterior I like the exterior though it's a boxy type. It gives a grand look with front bumpers.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very nice space in front and middle row. Thrid row is also fine. This comes with hand rest which I like the most and useful wile driving.  No storage in dashboard which is missing.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 85 hp is decent for city ride. But when I took for long drive, it ain't enough to overtake in the highways. Fuel economy withing in city gives always 10 km which is very poor.    I can drive this suv only in crawling traffic with fuel eco mode. Becos, the engine power is switched off completely in eco mode which is useless. In long trips, I could get around 12 km on an average when I drove it around 90-105 kmph with less gear shifts.

After 5000 km, suddenly it started wobbling front and back during driving and engine started making noise like lorry. I stopped my tuv and checked but don't know how come suddenly that much noise coming from engine. I took it to service center next day. They said there are some compliants and recall is required for some problems. After 4 days, I got my vechile and now i am typing this review immediatly.

Gear box is not that bad. But they are long gears but I got used to it within a month. 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th gear shifts are smooth and easy. But 2nd and reverse gear shifts are very hard all the time. I amd usiing this car for last 9 months. Still I am not comforable with 2nd and reverse gear shift.

Ride Quality & Handling Not bad. I could dirve easily on humps. But since the height is more, comfort level is still low on city roads. With bumpy roads, this vechicle is very suitable. Handling wise, I could give 60% rating. Turning radius is high so can't easily park or take U turn etc.

Exterior TUV 300 comes with Blazing Bold and Stylish looks. Though peoples are comparing it with Bolero, but TUV can't be compared with that. It has much stylish looks and in every aspect its far beyond and better then Bolero. Also Peoples talking about its Boxy style. Isn't Scropio, Ford endeavour, Honda SUV, Pajaro etc. has similar looks? and they are very much recognized SUV in their own class. TUV looks Bold and Tough from the looks and you can feel while driving. One can feel its presence on the road.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) TUV T8 comes with fully featured infotainmaint system with bluetoot connectivity that can play songs and you can call on the fly. Interiors looks very clean and the chrome finishing will give you a feel of a class. Space and comfort is as per expectation. You can feel comfortable in long journeys as well as in the city. This is the only SUV with 7 Seats in this Price band and the seats are quite enough to accommodate 2 adults with 5`2``  to 5`6`.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The Mhawk engine is a success for Mahinhdra Scropio. the same is used in TUV. So no way to comment on that. It is good and the rear wheel drive makes it more easier to drive the vehicle easily. ESS & Eco mode is valueable when you are driving it in the City. Fule economy is good compared to other cars on this segment.  It has gratee turning radious, streeing is very easy to use and light to move you SUV comfortably.

Final Words Mahindra TUV meets all my expectation in terms of its design, safety, comfortable drive. If anyone looking for its first SUV from its hatchback cars. TUV is the right choice in the Price Band with all features for City and Long Drives.

Impressive features, Good mileage, Bold LooksNA

      Exterior: good and decent

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): good

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: engine doesnt give the thump, fuel economy is good for this sized vehicle, heavy sound under the gearbox(like hitting a metal when the vehicle goes on bumps or speedbreakers)

Ride Quality & Handling: rear wheel skids in teh air when you ar etrying to get on a slope from a side. This feature from Mahindra- they say its a common feature with all rear-wheel drive vehicles. I doubt it.

      Final Words

Overall Experience: Am not satisfied neither am I disliking the car. its the best I could buy at this price, but, I cannot beleive this car was not throughly tested before getting it on road. I doubt if they have really spent 1500 crores on research and testing this vehicle.

1.The rearwheel skids in the air while getting on slopes, the answer given to my by Mahindra was that this happens with all rearwheel drive cars, which is not, I have my brothers SUV which does not do so.2. The doors are starting to show issues within 2 months of the purchase of my TUV, the tail door doesnt close properly and there is noise coming from both front doors.3. When we apply a sudden brake, there is hell lot of noise and I think its with the front disc brakes.4. There is a sound coming from underneath the gear box as if its hitting some metal, when going on bumps or speedbrakers.5. Within a month 2 parts in the engine have been replaced ( i do not remember the names, one was resonator and the other was something else)

      Areas of improvement

Needs to improve sturdiness, rear wheel revolves in the air, gear box, doors sounds, front brakes
